My dad is from Guanajuato, and my mom’s from Spain but she left Spain, and settled in Guadalajara for over 20 years! To this day we still go at least once a year. Such a beautiful city. God bless man! Much love from California! 👋🏼🇺🇸🇲🇽🇪🇸
Did they tell you how to eat the caldo de pollo? Add onions, cilantro, salsa and lemon. You can make tacos with the chicken or just roll up a tortilla with salt and lemon. That's how most Mexicans we eat it. Glad you keep enjoying our Gastronomy 😉
The centro magno joyero where all the jewelry is across the San Juan de Dios Market are highly recommended. Some of the best food is at the market. Also San Pedro Tlaquepaque and "el Parian"
Very Cool video! Guadalajara is becoming a bigger retirement spot for the U.S. and Canada, but Mexico City, with a cheap metro system and 5 peso bus is hard to beat, with so much to see and do? I really enjoy your vids.. I'm hoping you head to INDIA, as soon as their Covid situation passes, they need all the help and good publicity they can get these days. Curtis in Las Vegas, moving to CDMX "Next week" then longer term in Mazatlan.. hard to beat their beach boardwalk.
Guadalajara is a beautiful city… the food is basta and really good… I’ll be there next month for pleasure and visiting family and friends. Thank you for visiting my state Jalisco!! Viva Mexico!
Thanks again, Jason. I was blown away by the market! Always love seeing what you choose from the food menus. So interesting! Thanks to you, I am falling in love with Mexico! Cheers!😊💚🌿🥣🌮🥃
Visita Chihuahua, México. Hermosos paisajes y te encantará la tirolesa que está en las barrancas del cobre, en nuestra majestuosa sierra tarahumara. Un estado de la república mexicana con muchas historia también 😉
I used to love coming here when I was a teenager. It's such an important building in Mexico. But now it's raining, which they need so badly. That breakfast strategy was such a good idea,
Relieved but must admit a little disappointed that you only tried pork and chicken soup. I've grown accustomed to you trying all these exotic and outlandish food items...I'm saying this with tongue in cheek...so glad you are in Mexico and presenting Mexico to us...
Pope John Paul IiI was here in 1979 , in Cathedral , Jalisco Stadium, etc .. He is so loved for us and he went so happy here. Greetings from Guadalajara . Sorry my english. Welcome.
Its just a recomendation, you should try the Jose Cuervo Express Train, which runs two tours every saturday, it goes from Guadalajara to Tequila magic town in around one hour and a half, also a day tour around the Jose Cuervo Tequila Destillery is incluided, as well as lot of tequila based drinks, on of the multiple iconic mexican drinks :)
We so Happy you visit Guadalajara. Hope you stay more time in Mexico So you can see more!… When you go back to UK You will miss the Mexican food All the space. The people, the whether!… Tequila and Michelada 🙂 Keep Enjoying the magical Mexico 😉

You should've gone to the Hospicio Cabañas if it's open! It is a world heritage site designed by one of the most famous artists of the late colonial period, Manuel Tolsá. It was designed after the Hôtel des invalides in Parish and El Escorial in Spain in a smaller scale and with a uniquely novohispanic baroque/neoclasical style, the best part is the old chappel which is completely covered with murals by José Clemente Orozco, Jaliscos greatest painter. It used to be a hospital for the poor and foster house for children, now it is a cultural center and museum that has traveling exhibits and some permanent ones as well.
Other things to do in Guadalajara and nearby ( I don't know which are open or closed du to covid, sorry about that) -Museum of sacred art inside the cathedral -Regional museum of Guadalajara (all sorts lf art and artefacts from the state, from prehispanic to colonial and XX century) -Museum of the university of Guadalajara, it has traveling exhibits from the XX century onwards, it also a lovely neoclasical building and some murals too, this one a the next entry are rigth next to each other -Templo Expiatorio, a lovely neogothic church built in the early XX century during the porfiriato, in particular I would recomd going just before the sun goes down becquse the ligth gets coloured by the enormous stained glass windows. -Chapultepec avenue, a stree with a pedestrian promenade in the middle, one of the most lively places in town, particularly on the weekends, lots of partying and drinking as well as a tianguis with all sorts of things. -The Tlaquepaque neighborhood, it used to be a separate town from Guadalajara, since then they have conurbated but it still feels like a small town, lots lr restaurants and cultural activities as well a drinking, also a lot of street folk art. -Chapala and Ajijic, two small towns in the lakefront of lake Chapala, the biggest body of water in México, they both have a malecon and have a very chill bive, they're also some of the most popular places for expats. -Tequila, you can take a panoramic train to go there which is kept by the Jose Cuervo company, they serve you food and tequila on the way, the town itself is a pueblo magico, the biggest atraction there is to visit a tequila company where they show you the brewing process and they give you lots of samples, when you leave you are very much drunk. They also take to an agave field and show you the harvesting of the plants. -Barranca de Huentitan, this is just outside of Guadalajara's north side, it is a canyon with some great panoramic views and a river runing at the bottom, it is a pretty hard and long hike tho, in particular since you have to go up and down the canyon on foot, there is a bridge at the end of the hike that offers really good views, somewhere in there there is also an abandoned hacienda. -Huachimontones archeological site, this is on the same area as Tequila, it is one of the oldest arqueological sites in the west of México and it has a very peculiar architecture, te pyramids in there are circular, although small. -all of the old buildings in the centro historico too.
It is important to squeeze a few drops of the key lime into the soup. It really adds depth of flavor but just the right amount, not too much lime so that you might identify it!
LOL !!!! Not even close , Guadalajara is way , way more prettier in general to Monterrey . You guys think because your close to USA are better but you are completely wrong. By the way Que chingue a su madre el Monterrey y los tigeres,,,,
Dude if I would’ve known that he was going there 5 months ago I was there around that time I could’ve taken you many places I only go to Guadalajara to visit family and old friends
"If a Mexican thinks it's way too spicy then it's way to spicy". Good rule to follow. An interesting story. Many years ago my ex-brother in law from Mexico, a psychiatrist, was working and living in New Zealand. One time his wife and an Indian colleague, made a bet as to which culture had the spiciest food. My ex-sister in law made one of her special salsas and upon trying it the Indian doctor capitulated.
Go to Zamora Michoacan it's a city not far from Guadalajara you Definitely need to go to the cathedral its huge and in the inside theres a wall where you could see the bullet holes from the cristero war where they would execute the Cristeros
Guadalajara ya no es la segunda ciudad más grande de México, ahora ese título lo porta Monterrey. Guadalajara is no longer the second largest city in Mexico, now that title is carried by Monterrey.
A Huevo! Viva Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. La Sultana del Norte! Y lo digo yo que tengo raices en esa region por parte de mis abuelos maternos y orgullosamente llevo el apellido Garza por mi madre.
Does anyone else remember when Jason said he was vegetarian where possible? Or did I imagine that because after the tongue food poisoning and many MANY other meat based meals, I'm starting to think it was all in my head 😄
Los que comentan que Monterrey ahora es la segunda ciudad más grande... pequeño error, eso siempre está cambiando, ni yo sabia que ya era la segunda y soy mexicano 😅 No mistakes if you enjoy the city! Both are great to visit btw

I've been travelling to Mexico for quite a while and I've never known of the pink horchata before.
I'm pretty sure it was agua de fresa not Jamaica. He said that it was quite sweet too so I guess it's actually strawberry.
@@ivanbenitez567 Agua de Horchata is pink o white, some people add strawberrys to add a best presentations.
Jamaica is totally different
@@ivanbenitez567 Es horchata de fresa, aquí en chihuahua yo la he tomado

Hey!
@@JasonBillamTravel Hii
Actually Monterrey is the 2nd largest city and the 2nd most populated, per 2020's census.
I love you sir!
From Bangladesh.

No mistakes if you enjoy the city!
Both are great to visit btw
The lady behind you and your chicken soup (8:45) looked annoyed that you were filming
She seemed to smile afterwards, and was friendly to me when it came to paying, so all was good!
No, she was telling the other girl to go and SEE the güero.
Third largest* in the country! Monterrey has been growing fast enough to replace Guadalajara as the second largest city of Mexico.
That is disputed, the difference is small and the census inacurate enough for anyone to know for sure.
Bienvenidos mi casa es su casa ; )
♥️♥️
👍👍👏
When are you traveling back to India
Not sure, but I’ll be back one day as India is one of my favourite countries.
Come visit Colombia.
Monterrey is the second largest city in Mexico.... Believe it or not
