That music, what a score!!! When the 3 have their standoff near the end,you know something will happen, but what, when, and to who,the tension that music creates is mind blowing!!!
I watched this movie when i was about 6 or 7, circa 1970..... in the splendor of the big screen, at an open field in my hometown. In those days, we can't afford to buy tickets to go to the cinema. What a joy. Shahrrul, from Malaysia.
This is definitely the best film ever made in the history of world cinema. Sergio leone wrote a script far ahead of its time, and ennio Morricone composed the cowboy music that remains in our minds with all his soul. Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach were the most suitable and suitable actors to take part in this film. I even once came across an article in which no make-up was applied to the actors during the shooting of this film. So it's a completely natural and super film. There is never a contrived scene. It's a film that breaks clichés and stereotypes. The cowboy tradition is an old tradition. It means shepherd in Spanish, but in the wild west it's a different story. The last and greatest of the Sergio Leone dollar trilogy films. People who do not watch this film once in their lives and do not know of its existence should never say that they are cinema lovers and art lovers. This is real art, real music, real masterpiece. May God have mercy on the souls of all the artists who took part in these films and are not alive now. From the producer staff to the actors and the set crew, we owe gratitude for leaving us such beautiful productions that we still love to watch even today. Right now? I don't think so. I don't think so. Such a film will never be made and there are no talented and natural actors to write, direct and act in it. Love from Turkey.
In my opinion one of the best scenes in the movies of all time. Maybe the greatest mix between music, scene, photography, acting and direction. This is a Master Class of 22.54 min.
This last part is not a film, it is an opera. It is a total masterpiece. Great Sergio Leone and perfect Ennio Morricone created something extraordinary and unique.
@@opaguiar idk, it's not that. I am a girl and I love this movie to bits. It's a masterpiece. I guess that some people just don't have a taste at all, which is truly sad

This majestic brilliance was being broadcast on mainstream television in late sixties and early seventies. Well maybe throught the seventies and parts of the eighties maybe some nineties. But there not any more.
I can't describe how much love I have for this film since I've watched it on VHS in the late 80s at age 12. The music/cinematography/rawness of the western days and of course, the performances by the 3 main characters. 10/10
Just can't stop laughing ,at the way "Blondie" blasted Tuco with the cannon ,into the cemetery ...making him dig ...and still used him for ,one last shooting practice ,..😂 😂 😂
I’ve always liked how Blondie bested them both by not telling them the exact grave knowing full well he could be betrayed. That scene when Van Cleef showed up threatening to shoot him was priceless. You do have to earn that kind of money
Thank god, or may I say you, for uploading this. I tried watching the movie but it always wouldn't load past 2:55:33, before Blondie takes aim. Thank you man
Also love how The Bad almost brains Tuco with his tossed shovel... Good had to actually care for Tuco...to some degree...he did leave him half the loot..albeit in one of the busted up sacks!....Tuco ONLY tried to shot at Bad, cuz he knew he was his and Good's enemy. When I was a kid I always wondered how Tuco spent the rest of that day...getting out of that rope around his hands, re-burying the loot, finding a new canvas sack, and a horse...maybe a bath finally? It's a full day! LOL...Bad was a fool to take that deal, since he had to know both Good and Ugly would be gunning for him...if he THOUGHT about it, he would have to realize that the gold had to be IN PROXIMITY to Arch Stanton..and probably not that complicated...Next to, or "1 up and 2 over"....SOMETHING...a mere matter of digging...and two can dig faster than one.
I wonder how much it costed the producer for that historic scene while now movies with tenth of millions dollar but they can not reach that level at all
I don't know the price, but I know Leone initially wanted to have 10.000 graves. They only ended up with a little more than half of that, but all of them are built by hand. The site still exists somewhere in Spain. A bunch of volunteers restored it a few years ago and it's open for everyone to come visit - no entrance fee.
What a climax, what a classic. In fact it has an interesting metaphor, two ( not three, Tuco's gun wasn't loaded) facing one another, each holding mutually assured destruction with a mass grave as the prize... Love this and love the man with no name.
The greatest finale of any film... a TRIPLE finale really..as Tuco hunts for the grave, all the elements come together, the blurring tombstones..the speed and music..Tuco's increasing desperation...I get chills when it all comes to a crashing end at Arch Stanton... Then the buildup to the gunfight and IT ends not with a flurry, but just one shot. Then the hanging scene Just brilliant.
Im so glad the Japanese masterpeice Yojimbo was made because if not the three greatest westerns of all time may not of been made by Leone , absolutely genius
Just try to tell some producer today that the final scene of your movie has the protagonists litreally staring at each other for 10 minutes w/o doing nothing! We defy you!
Not one of my favorites (I'm not a Western fan at all), but I still like it, and it's a great ending. But I don't understand one thing. I don't want to say it ruins the entire scene, but it bothers me a lot that both the Good and the Bad tell the Ugly to dig and toss shovels towards him, even though there is clearly no more digging to do. Why??

interesting detail, from 6:36 onwards Angel Eyes is leaning on one of the tombs, subtly foreshadowing the tragic (and deserved) fate of the character
Not enough words can describe my love for this movie. Loved it at age 12, still do, always will.

It only works, if at all, seen as a parody of westerns. It's chock full of western tropes. Leone said as much himself.

I’ve always wondered why Blondie made Tuco dig up the grave knowing nothing was in it. Was he going to bury him in there?
Crow had perfect sense of timing.

Tuco got his half of the gold but no horse to transport it on and/or nothing else to transport it on 😂😂
Tuco will definitely bury the money in one of the graves then go after Blondie. Never trusted even to the end. What a character.
Yeah..dig the money back in the grave..go back to the bridge..steal horse..pick up the money again and then go kill Blondie!
