- This is from awhile ago and I just stumbled upon it! I went ahead and did a livestream just for BAND-MAID because I don't get to check them out on streams very much!! I thought you guys would like to see some BAND-MAID....
This was watching the first performance of Shambles live, Akane forgetting to plug in her monitors, and Moratorium!!! Come along with me and enjoy the fun!

Their performance at Lolapalooza (Dice-Hate) is also mesmerizing. I have rewatched it a hundred times.
Love how there's a tape arrow pointing at Kanami during the Moratorium solo.

That concert was SOO much fun. Worth driving the damned interstate 80 to get there. Haha.
Akane pretty much _had_ to own it, what with Misa laughing and pointing at her and Saiki chanting "do-ge-za." You can tell they hold themselves and each other to a very _very_ high standard. When they fail, they humble themselves to each other. NOBODY is too good for the band. Saiki forgets words sometimes, Kanami messes up every so often, Miku strays from her microphone, Misa - okay Misa is perfect, but everybody else screws up every once in a while. It's embarrassing and humbling, and nice to see that they _are_ human and they'll laugh it off. None of them are too good for the others.
Just proves it's a LIVE show. things screw up all the time, but they handle it with a sense of humor and professionalism.

I was there standing next to their マネージャー (manager) as he directed the lighting tech. The sound was nominal there. But this fancam sound is excellent. Great work, Po! 🦍🍌
Like the camera person, I too am a Saiki and Kanami fan. Of course, I'm also a fan of Akane, MISA and Miku. hahaha
To add - I've watched and subscribed to your reactions to BAND-MAID from the beginning. Thank you for continuing your devotion to these 5 amazing musicians/personalities.
Hey, I was fortunate enough to have been there at the show in Sacramento… when the first note hit I grabbed my son as yelled no f-big way. Was incredible… as you’ve said many times ‘BAND-MAID doing BAND-MAID things and no one is better’. Thanks as always for sharing

What a way to close the show. I was there and l tell you the band replicates their sound live like no other. Getting ready here in a bit for Hanabie and Babymetal at Aftershock.

I was really hoping that we would get Shambles at Park West.
It almost makes you wish they messed up more often but no, they’re too damn good.
At the ten year mark, if a band even makes it that far, many groups imho have lost or are losing their creative edge/ the band dynamics are poor with infighting, egos and general BS/ the verve and joy of performing has waned, then there's BAND -MAID, fark, they are even more creative than ever, they have a genuine and supportive sisterhood with each other and they carve it better than ever live. My affection, respect and admiration for these Rock Goddesses knows no bounds, what a fcken band Po, thanks Ryan 🙏👍🍻🎼🥁🎤🎸
They're a very unusual band to say the least. Quite unique.

Saiki's vocals are on point for Shambles! Usually stuff sounds bad for phone recordings but they're all on point.
Akane's dogeza (deep bow of shame), would love to see if anyone caught a better view of that lol.
Also, love to see Ryan gushing about Kanami ❤
I just love that Saiki couldn't help mouthing Miku's fierce tiger line! That and watching Kanami's laugh after they restarted Freedom was so heart warming.
Man, Saiki has really upped her game. Every year her voice just seems to get stronger and stronger. Then you have Akane thundering away back there but making it look effortless as always. 🦍🍌
I guess during pandemics it was hard to sing to your limits to know how fit your voice? After last year us tour, this years Us tour hit different... better audio PLUS SAIKI's voice pretty much fit and strong. Can't wait to see the livestream from Yokohama arena🤘🖤
Most singers reach their maturity and peak around the age of 30 (there's a lot of exceptions of course) 👍

Seeing them live, it was hard to take my eyes of any of them. But because Saiki presence, voice and movements were so compelling, drawing in my attention until I had to see what she was doing, I came back to her performance again and again. Band-Maid has powerful synergy as a band. But Saiki knows she's the one who must - and can - focus the experience to a laser-hot pinpoint.
And after her verse or chorus delivery, she releases you to allow the others the spotlight -- a selfless characteristic and mark of the perfect frontwoman for an ensemble of strong, equal talent. The Band gels because of their unique individuality, love and respect for each other. Band-Maid is a joy to behold! Thx, Ryan!

@@glenkelley6799 I'm waiting for the day, Glen, when each Maid has a personal camera covering their entire person - including the regular shots - for the entire concert. And their DVD/BD lets the viewer pick what camera to view with the ability to open multiple windows or full screen on the shot(s) of choice.

When I fist saw a clip of Akane’s little booboo for Freedom, it made me realize who the “boss” is among the 5! I think the way Kobato san admonishes her (though jokingly) you kinda feel she likes to keep her team tight.☺️
What a cute and funny happenig AKANE did, but her attitede is so natural, her happening is included in this music perfomance, it's beautiful, they are enjoying their music. This is the Live performance!

Their music has always been excellent, a three-ring circus miraculously directed without collision or failure but, for me, the band's last great improvement is in its two wonderful vocalists. Even more difficult!!

God some of these songs just need to be seen and heard live. Shambles is one of my favorite MVs but time and time again Saiki especially is next level live
Yes, good moments. In this 2023 tour they have gained a lot of confidence and perhaps also prepared better than last year. Lollapalozza was a summit of excellence where they showed an exceptional level worthy of a major rock band, which they are. Speaking of Freedom, there's also a very funny moment where Miku (without her guitar) and Misa leave the stage in Portland and head towards the middle of the audience. “Let’s go, po, Freedom! » Daisuke, the technical head, is desperately waiting for Miku to give back her guitar when she returns to sing the second verse. Hilarious.
I agree with Ryan's commentary.
I am always impressed that he never misses a delicious part of a song.
Kanami's riffs are heavy tanks. But the solo is a fold of bluesy phrases and 80's hard rock.
Ryan also looks at finger positions. I wish I could play that!
Shambles has been skyrocketing up the list of Band-Maid songs for me. Cannot get enough of it. Also those moments like when Akane messed up are so tremendously entertaining when most bands would get pissed off or just be awkward. One more thing that is so hard to get people to understand about what makes them special.

Great idea to come back to these live concert clips and to be able to point so many important details. It really becomes hard to choose between official videos and concert clips. Mind you, the latter provides extra atmosphere and many a time new improvisations and hilarious moments!

Having watched Band Maid for six years now it is amazing to watch how much they have grown in their performances. Going wireless was a huge step.
And to think this was the last song of the set and a surprise, so cool!

Btw Akane's false start on Freedom show us something: she's not running to Kanami or Saiki to humbly begging for pardon - she goes straight to Miku. For those having a doubt about who's the boss 😉 (even if there's probably more democracy in this band than any other I know)

The scary thing is they are still getting better even after 10 years.
I was at this show…..simply the best show I have seen them play live. They played their asses off!! Amazing this was their last song and they are still bringing it like a freight train!!! The sound in this room for them was perfect. (Ace of Spades, Sacramento.) This video has good sound, but to be there in person, ….ugh. We are blessed to have these girls carving new lands for future musicians.

After Akane screwed up her in-ears and had to halt the song; she came up front on stage and gave Miku the greatest "please excuse me" in all of Japanese culture. She went down on her knees bowing down to the ground in the direction of Miku. While being both cute and funny; she begged forgiveness for her screwup in a very sincere way. I love Akane, she is awesome, damn they all are.

いつも英語でコメント書いてた日本の老人（67）ですが、このAKANEのポカに対しても、メンバーは互いのリスペクトと寛容さを失わない、これがこのバンドの凄いというか、よくぞ日本にこういうバンドというミニコミュニティが出て来たと思う。彼女らは、多分、レジェンド的な日本女性ロックバンドになるでしょう。このライブビデオを選んだRyan Mear さんのセレクションのセンスに僕も同感して、思わず笑っている。もちろん演奏力はハンパではない。いままで、CREAMのライブ ビデオを見ていてそう思う、（AKANEはJmmy Pageから絶賛されたのです。彼女のドラムはまさに楽器です。Jinger Bakerみたいな感覚すら覚える）。

I couldn't go see them due to a bunch of health issues over the last several months and it really breaks my heart. I really, really wanted to go see them in Denver but near death slowed me down. Maybe the next time. Hi Ryan.
