I'm having a hard time finding the original live performance version though... From what I remember, that was pretty awesome too... I wish Frenchie could've gone further on both American Idol and The Voice USA... She is truly a superstar but these shows messed around with an amazing artist like her.. I auditioned with Frenchie for Making the Band season 1 of P Diddy's MTv show at Howard University. I'm glad she kept trying. I too am still trying to make it 10 years later, just like she is. I think I'll audition for the show this next season.
Are people really saying that she shouldn't win simply because of her pronunciation of good?? I'm a classically trained vocalist and in my opinion, the "crack" that some of you people are harping on is actually a part of her interpretation of the song. it's intentional. Its purpose is to add to the emotion of the song portray how good it feels, and even if it wasn't intentional, it would be a simple vocal crack. Her voice is still amazing and she is one of my favorites to win the competition.

As long as people arnt bias and see how beautiful her image and voice is,she will win.But regardless she needs a record deal form somewhere she cannot be wasted.I feel we need her voice.
She should have gone to the finals. I'm not sure about winning, but she was absolutely the best singer on Christina's team. At least Christina made one really good choice this season in having Frenchie advance to the semis. Now she can go on the tour and kick ass.
@lillptv that note is actually intentional. I've heard her do that before and she did it in the live version as well. If it was unintentional, they could have easily eliminated it from the studio version. It sounds much better here in the studio version than in the live version though.
the live was pitchy during the chorus. this is definitely better. enjoyed watching her perform, she made me forget it was a contest. this girl is very comfortable on stage and looks like she belongs there
@KaosTrinity the part at :28 is intentional like a yodel or break in her voice. she does it live on the voice, in the studio version, and if you search for an older live performance of her doing this song that's not ffrom the Voice, she does it there too. By far, the most pitchy part from the Voice live is the second "yeah" of the chorus. It cleaned up by the end so it might have been from not being able to hear herself in the monitor. she wasn't like that in the old performance i mentioned

Fa-hall. Etc. And someone mentioned she did it live as well, yes she did. There is no way they'd have left a mistake in the digital version. Anyway, I love her to pieces, she's a Diva, but still so nice. And I don't care what anyone says, I think she's gorgeous too.

I literally started watching the voice because of her after what happened to her on idol. Idol screwed up big time axing her, she would have won her season (sorry Reuben). She nailed this song, her voice is so effortlessly powerful, she's amazing

Some people here are real idiots. I suppose Nina Simon and Billie Holiday would also be lambasted for a cracking voice. It's a stylistic choice and it can work to make a song have character and emotion. If it doesn't work for you, it doesn't work; but a crystal clear voice is not always the best option nor the right one.
We all know Frenchie is no joke, but I think Kelly did a better job in my opinion. I think what makes Kelly's more appealing is that she isn't oversinging; Not too many "runs" or too much Vibrato, she just sings it straight-through, and she sounds smoother. The way Frenchie sang "Love's got a hold on me", you would think she would've nailed "When love takes over", considering the styles are similar, but I definitely prefer Kelly's version. Frenchie is kind of pitchy, here...
