This mashup was super fun to make as I've been wanting to make a Blackpink mashup for the longest time and I can't believe in a year of mashuping this is my first one to post :O Anyway, I was excited to share this mashup with you all so hopefully it was enjoyable :D Also, if you haven't already, please watch the video with the English subtitles on (turn on CC) because it's always exciting to make mashups where the lyrics sort of go together and tell a story. The lyrics for Boss were a bit all over the place, but I'm 90% confident in this translation but I'll edit it if a better one comes out. Wow I really was amazed by this. I feel like NCT U and Blackpink seem like the stereotypical most popular kids of the school and have this aura that makes them a lil dangerous and makes people love them. While most of the song is very dangerous and cool/chic, at 3:10, I was in love with the transition to vocals and lyrics and the slower pace of the song. THEN that rap part following the melody part was so much like a missile bomb (bomb) because it was SO good!! BUT, my favourite part from this mashup was 3:49 because there was the lil whistle and then there was the NCT U part with the Whistle instrumental and I just felt like instead of the edgy, dark vibe from Boss, there was a sort of wistful, hopeful side. Like how a bad boy has a soft side, y'know? This mashup screamed chic to me which is mainly why I love it so much :')) For the video, I feel like it flowed really well even though the styles are so contrasting, BP's aesthetic is more vibrant colours (pinks, reds etc.) while NCT U has more of a grunge/chic/dark style going on and I feel like instead of striking against each other, they complimented and brought each other's colours out!! As always, great mashup + video!! I'm so glad to have found this channel because it truly does bring me joy to watch/listen to these mashups :))
Ahh you totally just put it into words!!! Haha NCT (U especially) is what I would definitely just classify as 'edgy' and I would have said the same for BP as well up until As if it's your last came out, but still they have many sides to them :) I'm so happy that you put your thoughts into words so well because I can really understand what you're trying to say and it's like you're speaking my inner feelings as I made the mashup. You nailed the effect I was going for at 3:49 ! And I'm amazed you felt the same there XD Boss has some really good singing parts to it, but I tried to switch up the feel to the last chorus for this mashup :D Hahaha and the video was super fun to make. The colours are quite different in both mv's but for the way they are filmed and some of the camera movements are similar which gives somewhat of cohesiveness to the look :)) Thanks so much for your comment!! This was actually done really well, because NCT Boss makes use of the low bass, while BlackPink Whistle uses higher, whistle sounds, but you made it work! :)
So I have this theory that Blackpink are rich classy girls and NCT U are bad boys preparing something badboyish like a heist Ocean 11 style and the girls just end up being in their way and outplay them. Also a lot of sexual tension between Taeyong and Jennie (sorry i'm not the type to ship but they make like 60% of this mashup lmao)

I'm not sure what I am doing here since I'm not a huge fan of both songs, but for some reasons I like what I hear here XDDD Both songs seem to compliment each other and I think I prefer them them together than as their own tbh ^^' (smthg must be wrong with me hehe but I just listened to Boss one time so maybe the next listens will be better). P.S.: I think my fav part is 3:50, the bridge of Whistle really makes me appreciate the chorus of Boss more XD (Probably since I really like the beat at that part of Whistle)

I think you are getting better with each Mashup your making! I liked 0:39 when the boys start, it's a really good transition^^ 0:57 no idea what you did there but there was something, not even a second. I like it. and the transition at 0:58 is cool. I don't know the MV of Whistle, so I'm not sure wether the fire is from Whistle or Boss (I heard the song only twice), but it looks really cool. I also like this one whistle at 1:07. I think at 1:17 you mixed the songs? It sounds good. And I like that you took a scene from the boys dancing, because it makes them seem a bit softer (as someone else already mentioned it in the comments). As for the sound I really liked 1:17-1:34. Is it like that in the original or did you remove a bass in the background? At dude, the transition at 1:35 is epic! The seconds after 1:38 contain the male "ohs" and it sounds good! Also the whistle starting from 1:43, when the boys are singing, fits really well!! 1:51/1:52 again the transition between the songs is awesome! 2:07 I like the visual. 2:12 the male voices in the background and the visual is really cool. 2:32 again the transition. 2:50 was awesome! 3:32 was cool, too. And Whistle playing in the bakground starting from 2:36 was good, too. 4:07 the female soprano in the background fits well. The only thing, that isn't tragic, but that I didn't like that much, was the ending. I think it's too soft, the melody just disappears, that takes a lot of the energy the mashup created before. I didn't remove any bass though since that part just has the original audio of Boss and the instrumental I used for Whistle. Ahh by ending you mean the last chorus? Or the NCT with Blackpink instrumental towards the end? I understand what you're saying though! Maybe some of the energy was lost there but I think I was trying to switch the feel of the mashup a bit to avoid receptiveness. My favorite parts have to be: • Every Doyoung part that has Whistle accoustics in the background (SO GOOD) • as someone else pointed out, the transition from Jaehyun to Jenny in the beginning • the collision of the songs’ climaxes was just SO POWERFUL

I usually don't like mashups because I feel like they get too messy and people don't blend the songs properly. But you did such a great job here. It's one of the only two mashups I loved. The transitions are awesome both audio and visual!

Yup, at 1:17 it is NCT with Blackpink instrumental! I didn't remove any bass though since that part just has the original audio of Boss and the instrumental I used for Whistle.
Ahh by ending you mean the last chorus? Or the NCT with Blackpink instrumental towards the end? I understand what you're saying though! Maybe some of the energy was lost there but I think I was trying to switch the feel of the mashup a bit to avoid receptiveness. Probably could have added some punchier instrumentals as well at the very end to tie it all though :D
