I go to the same school Dr. Demento went to. He visits every year and gives talks about music history and random musical tidbits. He is such an awesome guy! I have a picture with him somewhere.
It was because of Dr. Demento that I became interested in all types of music. What I love about The Dr, is the vast amount of musical knowledge he possesses! He's 78 here! His recall is amazing. They really need to do something for him to share this! If I was in that Amoeba and saw him, I would have totally lost it, for a second, and quietly say something to him! He's kind of one of my heroes!
Dr. Demento is not a musician, but he has inspired & influenced many of them. Weird Al Yankovic, The Cramps, Beck & even interviewer Nardwuar The Human Serviette.
Seeing as Dr. Demento is there, when John Cafiero held up the Jaws soundtrack, I was certain that it was actually going to be "Mr. Jaws" by Dickie Goodman instead.
When he said "original Wet Dream" I thought he was talking about Max Romeo (made it to his original year end countdown in 1972), not Kip Addotta. Both are great bits of dementia though.
GOD dr demento is still around? i remember being a baby and listening to a cd of his that my mom won from a radio station contest and she had no idea who he was
I wish they would have gone digging for stuff they wanted to own or find out about- those What's In My Bags are so much more interesting than the ones where artists hold court and lecture on their favorite stuff (most of which we already know). Does Dr. Demento really need another copy of They're Coming to Take Me Away?
Dr Demento is a radio host who's been broadcasting since the 70s and specializes in novelty/comedy music. He pretty much started Weird Al's career. The other guy I have no idea lol
*dr. demento is a national treasure.*
I hate that I have only one thumb's up to give :(
100%
*I am who I am because because of Dr. Demento.*

Seeing the title, I was expecting an April fools joke. Thankfully it wasn’t. Great vid.

I don't know why I'm surprised Dr Demento is a Replacements fan but I am.
Dr. Demento is not a musician, but he has inspired & influenced many of them. Weird Al Yankovic, The Cramps, Beck & even interviewer Nardwuar The Human Serviette.
He's also Bart Simpson's mortal enemy
You'll also find a credit to Dr. Demento on Aerosmith's "Toys in the Attic" album, which includes the song Big 10 Inch.
He is an encyclopedia of music.

First saw Devo on Square Pegs. Dr. Demento should get $100 store credit every month. Just for being Dr. Demento.
Seeing as Dr. Demento is there, when John Cafiero held up the Jaws soundtrack, I was certain that it was actually going to be "Mr. Jaws" by Dickie Goodman instead.
Man, Dr. Demento made an appearance at my local record store a while ago. I should have went to see him.
When he said "original Wet Dream" I thought he was talking about Max Romeo (made it to his original year end countdown in 1972), not Kip Addotta. Both are great bits of dementia though.
What album did these guys work on together? Seems a shame they didn't plug it on here.🤪
The album is called "Dr. Demento Covered in Punk" more info at www.coveredinpunk.com For audio & video check out ua-cam.com/users/DementedPunk
7:30 I guess, there's also an album "Everything Sucks" by the Descendents, that John doesn't say about.

Finally a person that didn’t get a bunch of repress BS.
Why is he holding the records so wrong in his hands!?
Dude's a legend in his late 70s, and one of the coolest people to boot. He can do what he wants.
Too much John and not enough Demento.
Weak sauce
