The difference between us pop and kpop is that kpop artists are mostly consist of groups + kpop artists that undergo years of training to achieve *perfection* and debut them with the ability to dance, sing or rap mostly debut in a group and some are soloist. (If you remember gangnam style and gentlemen way back 2012 is also kpop) Lisa is thai, trained for 5 years under a korean entertainment company and debut as the Main Dancer, Lead Rapper and Subvocalist in a all girls and 4 member group called 'Blackpink'. Blackpink songs has a lot of mix korean and english considering 3/4 blackpink members can speak english and the other 1 can totally understand english. So kpop is like both genre/ industry. The difference between us pop and kpop is that kpop artists are mostly consist of groups + kpop artists that undergo years of training to achieve *perfection* and debut them with the ability to dance, sing or rap mostly debut in a group and some are soloist. (If you remember gangnam style and gentlemen way back 2012 is also kpop)
Lisa is thai, trained for 5 years under a korean entertainment company and debut as the Main Dancer, Lead Rapper and Subvocalist in a all girls and 4 member group called 'Blackpink'. Blackpink songs has a lot of mix korean and english considering 3/4 blackpink members can speak english and the other 1 can totally understand english. Kpop in general don't release just korean songs, they also release japanese and english songs.

Enjoy the music and the artist! It’s quite a shock at first, on how everything were polished, from vocals, rap, dance and even the visuals (aesthetics) that’s why “kpop” was called kpop because it seemed perfect or at least the producer and marketing team tries to portray. It’s actually just Pop, but they trained for a long time before debut that’s another distinctive feature of “kpop”. Anyway there’s more to this. And yes it’s kpop in a sense that it’s produced in korea, but this artist is not Korean and the music is intended for all (not just Koreans).
And I specifically like this girl because she took pride of where she came from (Thailand) and at the same time she rise above adversities (language barrier, new culture, racism, discrimination, etc.)
