Brother.... Even i purchased himalayan coz i am a big RE fan and i already own classic 350 for the past 4 yrs.. I am facing similar issues but they are manageable once you are comfortable with your bike... Heating issues doesnt bother me much now... The ambient temperature never exceeded 46°c in worst of road conditions.... I face gear shifting issues as well especially from 1st to 2nd n vice versa... But brother gear shifting has got nothing to do with fuel injection / carburettor things... Power transmission is different from fuel combustion part... I face one more issue... The bike tends to lean towards right... I hav contacted RE with regard to this... They inspected the vehicle and told its with handle bar which they gonna change... Rest all fine.. Driven 1500 kms in 10 days.. Life's wonderful
Same here the gear shift from 1st to 2nd is heavy with false neutrals sometimes but I guess after 500 km first service it should resolve somewhat , but rest I am loving it
ab@yt It won't. You need more ride time and experience on your bike to deal with it, take your time. This machine is amazing. I am loving my SNOW BEAST.
Hi Pankaj, I have been a RE rider since 10 yes,1st classic then standard 500. Need your valuable advice should I buy a Himalayan or a dominar 400, I am more of a city rider and occasionally touring.do consider it's milage, maintenance & problems.
1) It has a regular soft foam seats 2) FI has nothing to do with gear shifting. For a butter smooth gear shift shift the gear in correct rev band with fully pulled clutch lever. Clutch free ply also plays s crucial role ,so he it checked in the service center. You literally won my respect in the last minute and I'm your fan. Liked and subscribed. So An advise to you. Please do all the service in an RE authorised service centre and maintain good relation with them. If you did like this your warranty will still continue even after 3 years or 20k km. Then the parts that will be replaced under extended warranty will be called as the case under "good will on the customer".
I think it's a great bike in the BS4 model however I cannot understand why 'RE did not make the new LS10 engine at least 500c to give it a little more margin in power. Also the UK version should really come with MPH as the primary larger print on the Speedo as it is difficult to read in small print. Yes initially it looks like good value for money when compared with other similarly powered bikes in the available in the UK however when you consider it's engine simplicity air cooled single 2 valve against twin cylinder 4 valve water cooled ie I'm not paying for a radiator , fan , hoses , thermostat , another cylinder , another cylinder head ie it's a lot cheaper to manufacture then it's such good value as you think . However it's got a lot of character , looks are different , it's comfortable , it inspires confidence and puts a smile on your face I like it a lot.
Hi Subramaniyan, Thanks for the info, I have contacted RE and asked them about this. Waiting for the response from their side. Please stay tuned I'll get back to this soon. Plus I've seen many videos where it did not move on ignition. Anyways, i am in contact with them, will answer this soon.
Yup, i have seen this video, Please see this, ua-cam.com/video/bduQaBOjs6U/v-deo.html and there are many videos like this where it does not moves,.... lets wait for what RE has to say on this.
Bro what is the maintenance cost in free service and in paid service. I am 6 feet tall and I have only Himalayan as option becoz it suits my height. Classic is full of vibration. I am looking in Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and RE. I will commute in city daily for 40kms and weekend rides will be there. I am smooth Rider. Present I was with gixxer 2015 model. Plz suggest me. My budget is not more than 2.2lakhs
Hey Pankaj as it's been 1yr now since u uploaded this review just wanted to know howzz the performance of the bike looking forward to buy this need your suggestion, hope you reply
:D Keep riding it in 60-70 kmph speed. Only if you can. hahahahaha. Why you worried about mileage in bike like Himalayan. If you want good mileage you should never buy Himalayan.
Indi Trails lol! Ik but I need to travel 60kms a day to college so I was calculating the expenses too.Himalayan is easy to handle and is very stylish.Iam hoping to buy this soon
Madhavan Rangarajan For city rides go for UM, I ride himalayan in city as well and i love it, Himalayan gives you the urge to take it outside city but performs good in city as well.
good review, everyone is going gaga over the ride comfort of this motorcycle. The tail lamp is not meant to be yanked on, as long as there is no rattle and it does not fall of its doing its job.It is not there to take any load.
+Mukund Thorat Thank you Mukund. This bike has really changed the way I used to look RE. I am about to cross 1500km mark and have not faced any issue yet.
the tail light is not directly mounted to the frame, it is mounted with rubber grommets to allow movement when going over rough terrain, if it cant move it will end up cracking and falling off
Yeah you feel the gear shifting heavy cause it is a long-stroke engine!!!!!!!!!!! It would do the best on higher gears like 3rd or 4th but hell yeah a gud review!!!!! Thumbs Up 👍🏻 Bro!!!!!!!
all my bikes have been long stroke and they have all been heavy shift between 1st and 2nd. 1 suzuki, 1 honda, 4 yamahas and now the himalayan (bs3 export model), you just have to use a bit more effort when changing gears up past the neutral
Hi .. Im bought Himalayan and I'm getting delivery in June , now I just want to know that I want to use this bike just for long ride , so can we fix fog lights in this bike ? And I want to fit 2 sets of lights. Please help me out thanks in advance
Sorry bro no idea about MUMBAI,,, I am sure there is plenty of info available online. If you were in Delhi, its KAROL BAGH where you should be heading for all motorbike related stuff. Its a bikers heaven.
bro are there any issues with the bs4 himalayan?? I am confused between buying a tb350 and a himalayan....have u faced any issues like the bs3 version???
Government has now made it mandatory for all motorcycle manufacturers to have ABS installed in all bikes above 125 CC , April onwards. Wait for it. OR contact RE dealer in your city to get the exact info. I am sure this will take some time. You know how govt. works :D
Bhai plz plz suggest me....350x or himalayan ... Mostly city riding...Bt...Jis city me m rahta hu...Wo city....Ufff...Jyadatar road off road jise he h...Ap log laddakh ja kar off roading ka maza lete ho...M apni city ke andar he .....So...Plz suggest me ...Ye mere 2nd bike hogi I hv already Yamaha SZR...Iske baad koyi bhe two wheeler nhi...So seriously suggest me ...I m waiting ur valuable suggestions...
Bhai...Muze Touring Ke Liye Bike Leni Hai ...But Meri Pasnd Himalaya Hai....but Us Bike Me kafi Problem Hai...aisa maine suna tha Kya abhi bhi problem hai.....? Please ans
BS3 main problems thi... New BS4 main koi problem nai.. just came back from my Leh Ladakh trip. Covered more than 3200kms.. faced zero problems. Amazing bike. Go for it. Or wait for KTM Adventure 390. Launch date is unknown..
Hello Muralidhar Parimi Gear shifting is normal, however 1st and 2nd gear feels bit heavy and makes very prominent sound. I've now become used to the shifting and everything feels normal now. there's nothing to worry about gear shifting in Himalayan. its as normal as any other bike.
its all written in the service booklet. However i did my first on 500kms. second on 1200km 3rd on 2500km. 4th on 4700kms. i am about to go for my 5th service now as i have crossed 10,000kms.
+hima sekhar Hello Hima, thanks for stopping by, I would suggest you to please go to RE dealer near you and take as much test rides as possible to get proper info. Here in Delhi dealers arrange more than 100km test rides for their customers. I would suggest you to ask dealers for the same or get in contact with their registered riders and check if they are going for any weekend ride. You can ask him to help you getting the bike for the ride. Talking about my experience i am about to complete 1000km in few days and till now I have not faced any issue with my bike. Bike is super strong and runs perfectly. Its a built for purpose bike, make sure you consider what you want from a bike and then take decision if himalayan fits into that category or not. RE has improved this bike.
Hi, It has still not launched. plus I don't review machines. I am not a reviewer. This Himalayan is mine, that's why I made this video. I am sure you'll find many other people reviewing Xpulse. Good Luck.
Hi bro..... I am planning to buy a Himalayan in the year 2019 purposely for a ladakh trip with my friends. But I already have a motorcycle which is doing really good job. My body weight is 50kgs and height is 155cms. So I would like to know is this bike heavier for me to manouver in city conditions and long rides. pls reply.
l am 160cm and 65kg and l dont have a problem riding in city traffic but can only put 1 foot down but that is how you are meant to ride any way, left foot down and right foot on rear brake
In normal traffic heat temperature goes up to 48 ℃..which is absolutely unbearable and gives the feeling that your leg's inner side near knees is burning severely.. Showroom guy suggested me to install plane plates near engine to avoid heat reaching your leg's but I don't think it will work. As per off roading is considered there is no match for this bike in indian market. REMEMBER : HEATING IN HIMALAYAN IS SEVERE AND IT CAN MAKE YOUR RIDE IN CITY TRAFFIC A HELL...
Hi Inditrails. I hav booked new Himalayan and next week is my delivery and due to many videos my parents are telling not to buy and cancel the booking. As I’m in love with it I want to know from you is how you feel on your own shuld we buy or no and many people tell der is no resale value can you reply or can any one Reply on this please.
+Mohamed waseem Akram Hello waseem, I can very well relate to your concern, Even I also had these questions in mind before buying my Himalayan. I also love RE, that is the sole reason I chose this bike even though many advised me not to go for it. Talking about the problems in the earlier version. I believe company has really corrected major issues. And I disagree to believe that other machines are problem free.. in the end every bike is a machine and machine do tend to have problems. And these problem are the common problem you may face in any bike. I agree BS3 was the real shame. But this time RE is back with all improved bike. I don't want to talk about resale value of this bike because that's a matter personal preference as i don't buy bikes thinking about resale values, this is my 5th bike and i never bought any of them thinking about resale value of any. I would suggest you to take many test rides as possible. Ask dealers for long distance test rides(50-100kms). And in the end its you who going to ride your bike. If you really wish to buy any machine you should consider that it may show some bad signs some day and you should ready to accept it before buying it . No machine is perfect. Take any bike people do complaint after some time. Take your time. Make sure you ask this question to you.... What i want from my bike ? In the end, i would say . Himalayan is a nice bike people who are buying new BS4 are not complaining. Check yourself . Take your time, see how is pattern changing and how people responding. I have not faced any issue with my bike. I love motorcycles and i respect them and take proper care of my bikes... I have been riding many bikes and faced several issues but i never complained because i know its a machine and machine go bad some time. It's you how you take it.
I personally believe RE will really take off from here. this is the first Himalayan they have launched i believe they are going to launch 650cc OR 750cc Himalayan as well in some time. i am excited to see how RE will revive Himalayan in coming time. I have this feeling that Himalayan is going to be the best buy for RE lovers in coming year.
the first release production run had the hard clutch and the problem was fixed quickly, in my opinion the current clutch is very light but l am also used to riding large capacity bikes so the himalayan clutch is like a toy to me
I'm having the same problem with gear transmission between 1 n 2..and the heating problem... riding more on 2nd n 3rd in city is heating up the engine, but when I'm driving on 4th n 5th gears... engine is behaving quiet decent... I have not found solution for rough transmission of gears on 1st n 2nd...I rode around 300 km..I'll address the issue in first service...
Hi Akshay, Good decision, RE has really improved BS4 model, I have crossed 800km as of now, and will be making another review video post 1000km. Till now I have not faced a single issue in my bike. You'll get 4 free services with Himalayan, I have paid Rs 1000 for my first services, However I wont be able to tell you about future services cost as it depends on type of work needed at the time of service. personally i believe it should not go beyond Rs 2000 if everything stays good. Service intervals are as follows, 1st - 500km or 1 month, whichever is earlier. 2nd - 5000km or 6 months, whichever is earlier. 3rd - 10000km or 1 year, whichever is earlier. 4th - 15000 or 1.5 years, whichever is earlier. and 5th will be paid service on 2000 km or 2 years, whichever is earlier. If you need any other info please let me know, I'll confirm it with the service centre and let you know about it. I am from New Delhi.
Indi Trails Thankyou so much for addressing my query Mr. Pankaj. Also does this new himalayan have manufacturing defects, coz i faced lot of manufacturing defects in both of my re tb350 old and new. Coil issues, Front brake issues, very poorly built instrument console which keeps on vibrating, short circuit, Frequent engine breakdown. All the issues were rectified but it was very time consuming and created a very big issue for me- Reliability. Even after having two retb350 i do occasional long trips on my VERY RELIABLE gixxer 155.
+akshay avasarkar As per the built quality is concern, I was also very cautious about when i was planning to buy himalayan as we all know RE has its own issues with every model they have and specifically Himalayan BS3 version was a big blunder. However this new Himalayan feels really robust and i don' t know why i feel more comfortable on my bike even though i have ridden bike like avenger. I have also ridden my Himalayan with people with heavy built as a pillion just to test how bike performs with huge weight on it. And to my surprise as far the maneuverability is concern it worked like wonder ....Yes there is one issue i am facing right now which i still don't know if this is a real issue now or not is with fuel indicator. There are 2-3 times where i could not keep the track of my fuel consumption as fuel meter was not showing the actual reading. Like i filled Rs 600 petrol and on 3rd day it was showing like i need to refill however when I refilled my tank with just rs300 , fuel meter went beyond half tank mark. But happens only 2-3 times, i was ridding it at very speed not thinking about my mileage. Anyways as I am planning another video I'll talk about this as well. Personally speaking it's just pure love for RE why i chose this bike and wanted a bike which i can take anywhere, on any terrain coz i like touring. I believe this Bs4 is the best motorcycle RE has produced. Till now I have not faced any reliability issues with my bike.
Indi Trails Thankyou for your feedback. Looking forward for your next video. Also can you guide me how to manage a puncture situation re's have tube tyres. Also is there any method to convert tube to tubeless. Internet mention few but there's many greys in the information
I also asked same question to service centre guys and they said you should not put tubeless tyre in your bike, i don't believe its true as i just talked with two guys there about this, I am in contact with few people and will get back to you on this question soon. I also want to change it to tubeless.
Fudu bike. waste of money, it spends more time in service centre than at roads. also i do not know what this guys means by reviewing a bike just after 500km run on ownership.
after nine months of ownership of my himalayan it has only been in for its general services and never had a fault with it. indi trails vivek shukla would more likely be someone that has never owned a himalayan and only repeating what all the haters are saying and there are a lot of them
+THE SOULFULL RIDER ☺ Hi, I rather see it as a wonderful step from RE to provide RSA for such a long period. I am actually about to touch 1000km mark without any failure. And will be making another video, i just wanted to tell an unbiased story of my himalayan. Lets see if i face any major issues i'll love to share it with people. Thanks for stopping by.
THE SOULFULL RIDER RSA is a standard offering from RE on all bikes(for first 1 year) with at least 1 year nill dip / comprehensive insurance. So literally every customer of RE can take the use of it. This fact remains untold by all dealers so that they could charge extra money for brakedown. Verdict: RSA is free for all RE bikes till the end of 1 year from date of sale with comprehensive and higher insurance.
The music is very annoying
+Dinesh Tripathy ...Will take care in future.... Thanks for stopping by.
Bro do u have bs3 ?
Bs4
Pls remove the music. Worthless hearing the audio. Wasted my time
Same here the gear shift from 1st to 2nd is heavy with false neutrals sometimes but I guess after 500 km first service it should resolve somewhat , but rest I am loving it
ab@yt
It won't.
1) It has a regular soft foam seats
2) FI has nothing to do with gear shifting.
For a butter smooth gear shift shift the gear in correct rev band with fully pulled clutch lever. Clutch free ply also plays s crucial role ,so he it checked in the service center.
You literally won my respect in the last minute and I'm your fan. Liked and subscribed.
So
An advise to you. Please do all the service in an RE authorised service centre and maintain good relation with them. If you did like this your warranty will still continue even after 3 years or 20k km. Then the parts that will be replaced under extended warranty will be called as the case under "good will on the customer".
Hi Kartik, Thanks for the info. I am glad I was able to earn your respect. Thank you so much for stopping by. I am planning another video post 1000km.
Hello bhai ... Abi kaysa hai performance... Koi prblm nahi hai na?? Koi major prblm nahi aaya hai na

Fault in your speedo. The needles didn't move when the key was turned. Go and get it fixed bro..

Yup, i have seen this video, Please see this,

and there are many videos like this where it does not moves,.... lets wait for what RE has to say on this.
Indi Trails I guess for bs4 it doesn't move.
That's what i initially thought, But i still want RE words on that. Let's leave no doubts on this. They'll contact me soon with answer.
tail light is made flexible because it has to resist more pressure while off roading. Hard tail light may broke down.
Right.
What is difference between sleet and other models pls explain

How is the clutch now? The issues you are facing now and finally the average mileage you are getting
All good, No problem,, ....28-30kmpl
Indi Trails some of my friends said the bs4 is giving an average of 33-35kmpl
:D Keep riding it in 60-70 kmph speed. Only if you can. hahahahaha. Why you worried about mileage in bike like Himalayan. If you want good mileage you should never buy Himalayan.

No issues with BS4. Go for it. Or wait for ABS version. Himalayan is amazing
Indi Trails when is the abs variant going to come out?
Government has now made it mandatory for all motorcycle manufacturers to have ABS installed in all bikes above 125 CC , April onwards. Wait for it. OR contact RE dealer in your city to get the exact info. I am sure this will take some time. You know how govt. works :D
Indi Trails haha yeah bro I went to the showroom the other day and they were like no abs variant is gonna come out
That person might not be aware about it. Contact various dealers OR Best we can do is to wait for next update from RE.
Genuine review thanks bro

It's you how you take it.
thanks for such an valuable reply Pankaj i love the way you respond...
I personally believe RE will really take off from here. this is the first Himalayan they have launched i believe they are going to launch 650cc OR 750cc Himalayan as well in some time. i am excited to see how RE will revive Himalayan in coming time. I have this feeling that Himalayan is going to be the best buy for RE lovers in coming year.
the new twin for the gt has been designed to drop straight into the himalayan frame
There was some hazard light system in bs3 why not in bs4
because bs4 has AHO, head light remains on all the time.. plus there could be other reasons as well
Is there any vibration for long ride max speed
nope.. its very minimum. you wint feel it after some time as you'll get use to it. thers very minimum vibration.
Background Music volume is very high. Please keep it low
Hi Raj...........Thank you, will take care in future. Thanks for stopping by.
Keerthi Raj, this is supposed to be a motorcycle review and the music makes it unwatchable. Thumbs down.
I hope the answer to all these problems is Mahindra's Jawa and BSA motorcycles.
The clutch is still hard..?
+pra-x 98 I feel I have became used to it and personally i don't feel it that hard as compared to initial days.
the first release production run had the hard clutch and the problem was fixed quickly, in my opinion the current clutch is very light but l am also used to riding large capacity bikes so the himalayan clutch is like a toy to me
I'm having the same problem with gear transmission between 1 n 2..and the heating problem...
riding more on 2nd n 3rd in city is heating up the engine, but when I'm driving on 4th n 5th gears... engine is behaving quiet decent...
I have not found solution for rough transmission of gears on 1st n 2nd...I rode around 300 km..I'll address the issue in first service...
I can understand. Its a long stroke bike, runs better on higher gears.
Nice ownership review
+kaush gupte thank you
Nice video

He's saying Fuel Injection made the gearbox smoother, Really..? WTH !! :D :P

akshay k nair

I got my Himalayan in 3 days 😂 don't accept with everything the dealer tells you

In city - 28KMPL... Higways - 30-33KMPL
are there are any chances of remapping the ECU
please reply
Bro, I'm planning to buy Himalayan as my weekend bike.
Wanted to know about the service intervals and the cost for each service.
Service intervals are as follows,
1st - 500km or 1 month, whichever is earlier.
I also want to change it to tubeless.
does it has a slipper clutch????
No.
Broo mileage??
26-29kmpl in city with average speed of 60-90kmph.
It is best for traffic
do u facing any problem right now
Bro y dont you do upload videos regularly
Trying my best. Thanks 👍
Fudu bike. waste of money, it spends more time in service centre than at roads. also i do not know what this guys means by reviewing a bike just after 500km run on ownership.
Sad to see you had bad experience with Himalayan. Thanks for stopping by.
after nine months of ownership of my himalayan it has only been in for its general services and never had a fault with it.
indi trails
vivek shukla would more likely be someone that has never owned a himalayan and only repeating what all the haters are saying and there are a lot of them
3:55
Service cost is not high
I won't
Current milege and on road price??
Bikash Bhuyan
Current mileage = 28 in city & 31 to 33 on highways
On road price in Delhi is around 1.9lac.
Music is too loud bro
Turn off the music...its louder than yur voice
1 year RSA . Because RE knows it might be fail in road and customer get angry """""""""
+THE SOULFULL RIDER ☺ Hi,
I rather see it as a wonderful step from RE to provide RSA for such a long period.
Verdict:
RSA is free for all RE bikes till the end of 1 year from date of sale with comprehensive and higher insurance.
Not a detailed review.
Jis din ye bike tubeless me aa gyi usi din le aaunga
😂
Please get rid of this stupid music. You all do it and its very annoying
