People hate E-bikes there. Took some friends who rented E-bikes and got yelled and cursed at. They couldn't do it to our faces though just as they were leaving in their vehicle. We didn't know they weren't allowed there. Great video! Thanks!
I just rode this for the first time about 2 hours ago. I’m a tech loving rider. Flow trail not so much for me, fun but not my personal cup of tea. You’re not kidding the GoPro dulls it down! Probably top 5 trail for me now man! This was great!!!
Great Video .... as not all of us like and/or are too old for black diamond all the time, it was nice to see someone enjoying the types of trails I really like riding!
Nice. Was looking for more of your local trail POVs. I’m in Carmel for a few days and I rented a Heckler from the factory. No Soquel Demo Forrest for me I guess. Any recommendations in Wilder Ranch or UCSC?
@@KingerUTube Your best bet is likely the classic Wilder Ranch loop which you could pedal from SC headquarters. One loop is around 13 miles and 1400' of climbing. On a Heckler you could easily do several loops of the enchanted trail section listed here - www.mtbproject.com/trail/7019596/wilder-ranch-singletrack-loops
Hell yeah man I rode this a few years back with BKXC it kicked my ass we rode Demo flow before then straight to Braille I'd like to go back and test my might again
Stop riding there just for that reason. 2 + hours of climbing for 20 minutes of DH. I would be fine if it dumped you out at the parking area but that fire out is too long.
That's the same spot where I crashed about 5 years ago after hitting that jump and having the front wheel wash out on the landing. Didn't hit that tree though. What's the thing mounted to your stem or is that an eMTB display?
I dig the one take idea. You put a lot of work into the editing of your vids so to see something a bit rawer every now and then is pretty cool. Did you get a new camera or gimbal or something tho? I don't remember your previous ride videos looking so smoothed out. It's oddly soothing yet also confusing because clearly what you're riding isn't smooth as silk. Maybe its just editing software?
Nice! Looks like a fun trail with beautiful scenery. I got those out of shape old guy issues myself, lol. Also had tons of those "should've crashed but didn't" pucker moments, especially on dirt bikes, haha.
@@mtbsavant5414 haha! Thanks man! In all honestly I really did dig this vid. The scenery in Santa Cruz is so good. I can't wait to make it out there. I also TOTALLY agree that the GoPro just never captures how steep the terrain is.
I really enjoy all of your videos. This was a great one also. I might head that way, from so cal, this April. The riding in that area looks awesome! Is there a lot of riding there is SC and surrounding areas?
These one take videos are great especially for me and Braille which I haven’t done yet.. I learned my lesson on climbing there.. must get stronger before I head back there. Lol
Im pretty new at MTB and just rode Joaquin Miller " Big trees Trail" As far as steep grade. How does this compare? any feedback appreciated. Also what is the intermediate (easiest trail) to ride out in soquel (demo)?
MTB Savant definitely get a lot speed through there..no worries on missin the ride, I’m sure we’ll ride one of these days, maybe the tribe gathering this year 🤔🤔
Haha this is awesome man!! Yeah, weird. For some reason that trail looks flat especially on this video but I think that's somewhere in the 20-30% grade. I enjoyed reading it or you commenting. Good riding!

Just a matter of time...be patient
A lot Santa Cruz locals think they own that place, typical localism. They hate people from "over the hill" ( silicon valley ).
Thanks for the vid, going this weekend!

Going there this weekend to do Saw Pit! Going the back way (Nisene Marks). Thanks for the video.
My favorite trail at demo usually because flow is so torn up most of the time. So much fun, always a reminder of why I love to bike. Great commentary!
Came from MN to ride there once and almost died because of the climb to that trail after riding that flow trail. Lol
Yup sounds about right lol
Awesome video!!
Thnx Alex!
Yeah, nice video 🤘
Thnx!
Solid content; thanks!

Why not demo? I see ebikes there all the time.
MTB Savant illegal in Demo. It’s not a fine, either, it’s a misdemeanor. Odd of getting caught may he low but pricey.
MTB Savant - Is there any other loops that you would recommend?
If there was not SC demo issue, obviously I’d be riding Flow trail and Braille.
@@jkamer2168 Wow you wouldn't know by riding there. Almost 40% of the bikes on Saturday were e-assist.

Nice run🤘🏽
Dude, please make one of these for every major trail in the bay🙏🏼
Will do!
alpha00male yeah I wanna see your thoughts on the flow trail too
Nice riding. That trail looks fun, I'll have to get out that way.
A must ride!
Missed a fun side feature at 3:28 on the right
Need to check that out!
I have ridden flow twice, definitely going to hitup Braille next!
A MUST ride!

Great video. Braille and Flow are in great shape right now.
For sure, get it while it lasts!
Not pictured; the climb to get there and the climb out.
Nothing to see here!!

Tom Clark Garmin
Great vid. Glad we didn't see a Friday fail vid. Yewww!
Tell me about it!
That climb out sucks 😂.
Tell me about it
Let's go,.good vid post more
Thnx!
Nice! Road Flow Trail last summer when I was out visiting. Planing on hitting this one in a couple of weeks when I’m back in town 🤘🏽🤘🏽
VERY different than flow. Why choose when you can do both!
MTB Savant so true, so true. Not sure my overweight, out of shape body could manage that climb twice 🤣🤦🏽♂️
But definitely goals. 👍🏽

Yeah this was shot using a Hero 8 with software stabilization mounted to the chin of my full face helmet. Very astute observation!

It's like cheating death!!
@@mtbsavant5414 haha, definitely gets the adrenal glands pumping!
nice video
Damn! Conditions look prime!
Get some while it lasts!
Awesome video! And lovely trail. Keep the good work and content!
Appreciate that!
I can't wait to get out there and ride that trail
Yeah buddy. Get some!
This is actually really nice! Kind of serene. Very different from my vids where I'm making bad jokes the whole time. 😂
If I had your personality I'd be making jokes all day :)

I love when you say fatigue is setting in then I hear you drop the hammer!
Adrenaline is a helluva drug
you didn't say "trails dont get easier, you get better" at the end. Awesome riding, looked rly fun
One take! Forgot to say it so it didn't happen ;)
I'd love a video on your progression from an SB130 rider who didn't like hitting jumps to a Megatower and riding totally different these days.
Good idea!
I really enjoy all of your videos. This was a great one also. I might head that way, from so cal, this April. The riding in that area looks awesome! Is there a lot of riding there is SC and surrounding areas?
Come out for Sea Otter. Lots to ride between Demo and UC trails
Brian Gong I could try to go that. Wrong week for me though. 🤘🏼
These one take videos are great especially for me and Braille which I haven’t done yet.. I learned my lesson on climbing there.. must get stronger before I head back there. Lol
As tired as I am climbing to braille (second loop usually) adrenaline kicks in but wears off towards the end lol

Braille is way steeper. If you haven't ridden flow it's a great trail too. Look up routes on trailforks
@@mtbsavant5414 yes in my FB group they said braile is very steep lol and said to do flow.. just the pedal up is gonna be killer
@@Dotwa27 it's killer either way lol
Loved the ONE TAKE, works great for this trail, but may be boring on another
True dat
Fun Trails for sure! Going to have to get out there in the next month or so before it gets too dry and dusty for the summer 🤘🏼
Your videos of the North Bay Area look great I need to get out there and ride in your area as well
For sure man. Hit me up!
MTB Savant definitely will one of these days! 👌🏼
Kerwin Warren Not sure if you meant that for Me, but there’s so much good riding in the Bay Area right now! All time dirt most places 👌🏼
@@bike_somm yes it was meant for you
What’s better flow or Braille?
Both. Very different. Both fun
Yup very different. A good day includes both :)
People like “why is he getting tired” obviously have never climbed Sulfer Springs 🤮
Feel me!?
Suffer springs more like it...hate that climb!
Climbing it twice though to do both Flow and Braille in a day. Amazing day but dang its tiring
I didn't catch it in the beginning but you must have climbed forever to get that much down hill 🤙🔥
Nice run.
Yeah this place is definitely pay to play.
Nice and easy flow trail, looking good
lol, thnx!
Wow, great trail and thanks for the ride along. I know I'll never make it out there but it sure looks like fun.
never say never!
Love this. Would like to see Cinderella & Chaparral next :)
it would be over in 2 min
Dagonger just took me down Braille last week, love that trail, I also had an oh shit moment in the same spot u hit ur bars! Good riding man!
Yeah that section carries a lot of speed, and those bars aren't getting narrower. Bummed I missed that ride last week!
MTB Savant definitely get a lot speed through there..no worries on missin the ride, I’m sure we’ll ride one of these days, maybe the tribe gathering this year 🤔🤔
let us know how that Heckler performs. It's kinda pricey for that older motor system.
Is this Royal Jordanian's new MTB specific channel?
idk how you do that at this speed ! maybe its my 26er getting stuck at every root there xD
It's all bike! lol

Ride the flow trail before it dries out. Want to show my kids what daddy checks out on Sunday to go do.
Will do!
That text went away kind of fast.
You can always watch it again ;)
Kooooook
Dude..no Easter Egg?
One take bro! No edits lol
