I like how the phrase 'are you game' means either 'are you up for the challenge' or 'are you prey/food for the hunt (i.e. wild game!)' I only just noticed that! Very clever animation department!
I was so obsessed with this cartoon!
+SimbaKid HD the jungle had too many episodes where part of it now seemed safe because they made friends, etc. Slowly corroded away at the soul of the show.
I forgot this show existed and the intro sent me back to my childhood!
Same! I legit just came across it randomly, and it's blowing my mind that I forgot about it!
This show was so badass back in the day!
@@bradyanderson6311 I was talking about this original one, not the remakes or any new ones that came in modern time
@@JackFrostIsHere why would UPN Kids only move out of Marvel and Saban for this?
The times where almost every movie had his own great cartoon...
@@Lordodragonss damn 11 years passed between your comment! How's does it feel
I always preferred this to the movie actually,as a kid i was obsessed with this show; i remember that with a friend at school whe actually drew a version of the jumanji board ourselves and kept inventing riddles XD
I have chills and tears due to the fact my childhood hit me like a truck and that the opening sequence is simply epic and badass.
Holy shit this seems scary as hell now. Even the weirdly drawn characters look creepy. How was I ok at this as a child?
+Dizzy Blu more importantly, remember that you WERE ok with it. One day you will have kids and deprive them of cool shit like this cartoon because you will read into it on a level they dont
Yes I think the cartoon Han and Luke from the Star Wars Holiday Special look better than the kids in this cartoon.
@@libo2000 nope I thought it was scary as shit as a kid too. I just watched pokemon instead
I love the Chanting of 'Jumanji' Awsome gives me chills
That intro slays me every time! The African music, the darker theme. YES!
*Enter a strange land where danger lurks everywhere.*
*Enter a darkness that threatens the day and soul.*
*Enter here where impossible is possible.*
*Enter Jumanji.*
Like most good 80s-00s kids cartoons I feel the writing department had the freedom to make it equal parts fun and smart but add some real darkness and menace. Jumanji the world in the game was unfriendly, weird and very set in it's make up/resistant to change. Also the artist Everett Peck was a great move, shows look is still very unique.
*Jumanji... Brings me back those wonderful memories when I used to eagerly wait everyday late afternoon (around **17:00**) to watch this show. Along with this, Samurai X , Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) , X Files, Knight Rider and Johnny Quest altogether made my childhood in the 90s forever golden*
I loved this show when I was young, brings back so many delicious memories.
I wish I realized how lucky I was back then.
Man, this show brings back memories.
well guys the animation was intended to be ugly ,it ads the twisted atmosphere and makes the villains and monsters look more scary.
at least that's what i think and the animation therfore suits this show.
you can compare this to the ugly animation in recent cartoon network shows.
but in comparison, the majority of CN shows suck.
I watched this before Pokemon everyday before school started. Good times. :)
This cartoon is so damn good!
Watching this in 2018. I didn't hear the song for 15 years or so but I never forgot it.
Its been so long since ive heard this classic cartoon Theme ^_^.
Such an epic cartoon/movie Jumanji was back in the days
Best intro ever. I get chills every time I see it.
I recently saw the whole series with my little brother. He loved it just as much as I did when I was a kid.
Am I the only one who's just loving the 'Jumanji' line between the music?
i glad to be born in the 90's i enjoyed this show,
it makes me want to watch it again once i resaw this opening
Same. I saw this before the movie (and waaaaaaay before the original picture book) and was surprised by how it goes on such a different direction. Smart move, though. Good series overall.
:( Robin Williams helped bring us this classic.
lightheart5 R.I.P beautiful man hopefully he will be making the angels laugh
Why he suicide tho? :(
One of my favorite actors ever
May he R.i.p

There was a Jumanji cartoon? I had no idea.... Cool!
i cant remember when i was watching this animation, when i home from school i just watch and i really enjoy it
One of the most deep and mysterious cartoon I've been watching.
It's not too often that a cartoon based on it's movie ends up so GOOD. On top of that, they ended the series with a true final episode that wraps up the story. All too often do shows just end after a few seasons while not resolving the story. This was a great show.
I've come to face my childhood fear. This was absolutely traumatic.
I love that they finally released the complete series on dvd. It's about time! 💖
i knew this was real and i didn't just imagine this! god i was so young when i watched this.
Loved this cartoon.
Lol i've been trying to remember this tv show's name forever thank god that new movie came out :D
my god, it's been so long I'd forgotten that this even existed
THIS WAS MY LIFE AS A SMOL CHILD
This reminds me my childhood :)
I remember watching this back in 1996-99. I was 5 when it first aired. Watching this brings back good old memories(:
Oh.those memories.love from Bangladesh. Thanks btv
This make me to remember my childhood.. I miss it😭😭
I lost the name of this show for 10 yrs and finally found it after I started to watch the original movie
Just this Theme brings back so much memories i didn't even know i had.
Imma watch it again
When you were a kid and heard this intro come on tv, you knew shit was about to get real.
Goosebumps!!!
I'm glad I found this video, almost by chance. My shambled memory didn't allow me to remember this. And, am I the only one that thinks that "Jumanji" chant in the background makes it even better? Anyways, thanks for bringing my memories back
MY CHILDHOOD IS BACK
This is phenomenal
Loved this show as a kid the 90s was an awsome time for cartoons I'm 23 and I love this.
I remember watching and enjoying this series, but I forgot it looked like this. I only remember one specific episode where Alan and Peter refer to some guy as 'smarmy' haha - Thanks for some amazing nostalgia :)
my childhood memories coming 😍😍😍
I used to love that show so much when I was younger, it scared me slightly though
Brings me way back, loved it and still does
This series made my childhood awesome
The animators definitely had a unique style for this show. I used to love this, Mighty Max, Extreme Ghostbusters and Men In Black: The Series.
I just LOVE how they chanting "Jumunji" in the bg so ominously and the music similar to Indiana Jones adventurous spirit as well. ^w^ Definitely one of my favs childhood shows.
Omfg I remember this show ahhhhh I loved it so much as a kid
This looks quite badass!
I love this show brings back my childhood memories when I was a child and my school days also years memories I remember this show I watched it alot it's been a long time since I have seen it
Ohh, that was thrilling and great, I liked a style of tv series, artwork and general plot! I tried to dress as Van Pelt for Christmas party when I was 12, and everybody asked me why am I wearing strange hat and a rifle, if I am Joseph Stalin
I saw a van pelt cosplayer and for recognizing him he gave me some chocolate gold coins :)
Oh I remember this when I was a little kid I used to watch this all the time. On Netflix
If Jumanji was airing today, I bet Van Pelt's rifle would be replaced by a laser gun.
+Gasoline85 You forget this was the same era as 90s Spider-Man, which did similar(Lasers, lasers everywhere).
+sparkshark789 In the movie, he ran out of bullets and purchased a new high tech machine gun.
+Andrew Todaro in the original movie the gun shop owner asks van pelt if he Is a postman due to his pith helmet... In the Spanish dub he asks van pelt if he was a "cheated husband".... I thought this was a family movie! Lmao
I got goosebumps now. . .. Brought back childhood
Hey, an ad for the new jumanji movie played before this haha. I used to love this show so much
Im big fan of this cartoon, remembering those childhood days.Awesome!
In general? Wow, that's a good question! Haha! But as for these animated shows, there was a good slew of them back in the day - Godzilla, Ghostbusters, The Mummy, The Mask, Beetlejuice, among others - these were all spin-off TV shows of the movies. You can see them as cash-ins, or you can see them as expansions of the universe or ways to explore avenues and themes the movie didn't or couldn't.
This was a great independent adaptation of the movie. I was sad when the series concluded with the kids finally working out Alan's clue.
I loved this show
is everyone crazy here thats one of the most unique and beatiful art styles ive ever seen
i always watched it with my mom... them good ol' days :')
Haha wow, I just remembered this cartoon as I was browsing for a new movie to watch and saw Jumanji, the music to this intro is rather epic - love the slow falling dice too. They just don't make 'em like this anymore.
i really liked the fact that they showed jumanji's from the inside! :)
Thanks for making my childhood the greatest
brings back a lot of memories...
I loved this as a kid.
For a minute, I couldn't remember if I watched this show as a kid. When I saw those two cartoon kid's faces...aw man, I remember now.
I'm afraid it's very real. Plenty of films got animated series' back then. Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters, Godzilla, The Mask - stuff like that.
The idea was generally to explore the ideas and world the film set out to portray. In the Godzilla series, they introduced this whole backstory with aliens and new monsters, more like the original Japanese films.
Easily one of the most EPIC cartoon openings of the 90's! :D
when UPN wanted to get on that Saturday Morning Cartoon but instead put their shows on Sundays and had no competition. RIP UPN
God, that was stupid. Between that, putting Dilbert next to Shasha McNasty, airing Homeboys in Outer Space, and getting rid of Home Movies, is it any wonder why UPN failed?
Actually a lot of UK and Irish channels did the same thing, we didn't have a Saturday Morning Cartoon thing so much as a Sunday one, at least when it came to new episodes of things, like new episodes of Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh would air on Sunday and then get repeated the following Saturday. There were a few stations that did the Saturday deal but it was wrapped around these stupid as fuck variety style shows where after every cartoon, you'd cut back to these live presenters (with a live studio audience full of kids) trying to be funny and "hip" (It was the late 90s/early 2000s so even at 10 I felt pandered to) and on top of that, I didn't really care for the shows they were doing, it's like Nick had their stuff, Sky One had the kids anime, RTE had the Disney stuff (Disney Channel wasn't free over here) and I guess UTV/ITV had whatever remained, it might have been the Fox Kids stuff but I can't remember, I do remember they mostly did the superhero type stuff like Teen Titans and Batman Beyond and I didn't care for that.
I loved that show when i was younger af
I remember they would show reruns on UPN in the morning on weekdays.
This song is remarkable
Lol, I remember always almost missing the school bus because of this show.
to me this is the only canon Jumanji story
My whole Life is jumanji opening theme.
Such an epic theme ...
I only remember that feeling of terror when ever I watched the opening scene. I liked it.
For those to young to remember good kids TV. This show was amazing!
I loved this score as a kid
But Imagine what this show would look like if Jumanji was the trapped soul of The Jigsaw Killer
"Hello, kids! I want to play a Game!"
time to play the game
if some kids tells you that they can hear tribal drums, you better believe them =]
I loved this show. so many memories in the 90s
I watched this when I was a kid.
Wait this was real!? I wasn't dreaming this up as a kid!?
This series used to scare the hell outta me D:
I love it :3
The first 17 seconds of this opening gives you the feel of something truly terrifying that has yet to happen. I really like it when a cartoon does that.
No it doesn't, you're soft.
I agree it is so cool to bad Cartoons don't do that anymore.
