I'm still getting my head around where things are in the Peak District. This one perplexed me until I went in OS Maps. I've hiked so many of the Peaks in isolation that I've never put them into perspective. It's a beautiful hike and one I'm definitely going to complete this year thanks to you, Patrick. Another great vlog along with anecdotes of experience of lockdown. Doesn't it seem a lifetime ago now. Thanks for sharing all that time ago.
This was a route I plotted myself, if I recall correctly, as I wanted to cover a different part of Stanage Edge to where I had covered on a previous walk I had filmed, as well as covering Bamford Edge. It does indeed seem a lifetime ago now, but I can always remember how busy this day was with restrictions starting to lift at this time. Thanks again Chris for watching and commenting 👍
You cant complain about this walk its simply stunning so many wonderful sights but bamford edge would take some beating ...Than k You so much Patrick for whetting our appetites even more ...stay safe and regards from Frank & Lee,,,,,,
Thanks as always Frank and Lee for watching. Bamford Edge does indeed take some beating, but there are quite a few rival edges, which we will see fairly soon. All the best to you both and have a great weekend 👍
Wonderful peak district. Smashing video again Patrick, ty! We were on Mam Tor ridge today again. Done it twice in 4 days and its getting easier now! This being our 3rd time in a few weeks. We were up the peak you were looking at in the distance. My first time, it nr killed me to get up it lol but today, wow i just sailed up it, as i did on Monday! We walk down and up winnants pass, in the circular manor, before heading up Mam Tor!
The Peak District is wonderful isn't it Maggi. I've not done Mam Tor or the Great Ridge for some years now, must get back there again. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi Patrick thanks for taking us on this lovely walk. I've walked on Stanage Edge lots of times but never been on Bamford Edge before and the lovely views above Ladybowers Reservoir looked fantastic. this Walk will have to go in my bucket list, atb Patrick Cheers Glenn 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
Hi Glenn, I watched your Chee Dale walk the other day actually, good stuff. This was my first time on Bamford Edge too when I shot this, but next time will pick a day that's hopefully less busy. Hope you do get to do this one Glenn. All the best 👍
What a great walk with spectacular views. Don't stand too close to the edge, we don't want to lose you. I love the Pennines, it's a great place to walk. Seeing you up there enjoying yourself reminded me that i need to get back there myself. I do feel that after all the lockdowns, that people are more appreciative of their freedom. Before covid we took going anywhere as normality now it feels new again. Brilliant walk as always and what views! Cheers Patrick for making my friday.
Thanks Kelly, yes I did drop my jaw a few times when I saw others standing on that ledge to get their photo taken, so I was very careful when I was there too. It was clear on the day I shot this that people I passed were glad to ahve had mroe freedom, got some good vibes. Thanks Kelly as always for watching and commenting 👍
Congratulations on 150 Patrick ,your videos are so well done and bring much joy to many people including myself.Looking forward to your next 150 ,thanks .
Another great film Patrick. As you know, I’m a big fan of Stanage Edge. It’s a truly fantastic walk when you get weather like you had that day. The views you had across to Win Hill and Derwent were fab. Those grouse butts were quite impressive compared to the small wooden ones you get on most of the moorland walks. Bamford Edge can probably lay claim to having one of the most iconic views in the Peak District
Hi Anthony, I did smile when I watched your last upload as I knew that Stanage was to be my next one. Can't beat it can you, and I certainly did have fab views over Derwent and Win Hill. I love the variation of the grouse butts depending on which area of the Peak you walk. Bamford Edge is defo iconic, I just seemed to have picked the busiest day there 😂 Many thanks Anthony and all the best 👍
Terrific film. I've been to Stanage,( and nearby Burbage), for a day's climbing so many times in the past, but on a day's climbing you never go very far along the edge. I've always had in mind to walk to the northern end some time, but never got round to it. Thanks to a walk with you I've partly fulfilled that. And the views from Bamford Edge, somewhere I've never been to, are truly awesome. Will make a point of going there some time. Thanks so much for an inspiring film.
Hi Michael, thank you very much for your nice comments as always and for watching. This was my first time along the northern end of Stanage too. Hope you do get to Bamford Edge, it certainly was worth the walk along there during my day of filming, despite the crowds. All the best 👍
Thanks for a terrific video Patrick. I have not done this walk but it reminded me of the great walk up the Roaches. What a great day you had! I loved the dramatic music approaching High Neb. Looking forward to your next excursion.
Sounded quite a windy day for you to start. Some stunning views in your film especially over the Stanage Edge/High Knab and towards Bamford Edge. Grit Stone Rock was an eye catcher too. What a glorious day for filming, Patrick.
It was indeed a windy day Shanita, glad my microphone muff helped a bit 🙂 Yes the view from Stanage are just awesome, as are so many of the locations around this area. There are countless different formations of the gritstone rocks too which make it so interesting. Thanks as always Shanita for watching and for your great comments 👍
Thank you Patrick for this film. I agree with you that the mist does add to the atmosphere. The music goes really well with this film, i love it. Have a great weekend.
Great that Patrick. You showed a good side to it. Ha, moor great views - no pun intended I'm sure. How good is that to have numerous people pass on their good wishes and enthusiasm. As much as the views that's what we live for. I trust you got your ice cream. Very enjoyable as always. All the best up there. Mark
I love to show many moor great views Mark ha ha! It was good indeed to pass so many friendly people when I filmed this, as mentioned I think everyone was just so glad to have had more restrictions lifted and be able to get out in the Peak District. I defo live for those views, just awesome. Yep got me ice cream at the end Mark 🙂 All the best to you and have a great weekend 👍
@@solitaryrambler Ha ha yeah moor views is what we like Patrick as well as friendly folk being set free. I bet the ice cream was a real treat. Take care up there. Peace!
Great views Patrick that looks like a good walk where would i have to drive too for that view excellent !! take it i would have to drive from Norfolk !!! ha anywhere to stay round that area at all ??
I'm lucky to now live in Bamford but am still a newcomer so really enjoy following your various walks which I hope to explore. I sometimes struggle to locate points on your routes by the name, on my maps and wondered if you could include a screen shot of a map with your walk marked? just a thought.
Thanks for watching Mike, glad you've enjoyed my walks. I'm guessing from your comment you've not read the description below the videos, so rather than me trying to explain, I'll let you see for yourself 👍
@@solitaryrambler oh sorry about that, I’m a lazy screen watcher, not scrolling around if it isn’t there in front of me immediately! I’ll explore properly, thanks.
Sir, I'm impressed with your doggedness. Unless you have a pal with the camera, every shot which shows you approaching /departing the 'view', means you had to have been to the cam point to set up the shot, then returned to collect the recording device, and vice versa for a departing shot.... Fella, if you're on your own - I can't believe your dedicated STAMINA!! 😉 (and - anyway ).
Fabulous video Patrick and what jaw dropping views you enjoyed! I am unfamiliar with that part of the peak district so really enjoyed this and the music score was excellent too. Thanks for your hard work and by the way, did you get your Ice Cream?
Many thanks Jeff and yes those views were pretty awesome weren't they. Really pleased you enjoyed my music too. As always thanks for your lovely comments and for watching. I did get my ice cream so a great end to the day 👍
Blessings to you this wonderful day thanks for the walks this dayX
