The live concert footage used in this video was taken at Elvis’ June 9, 1972 show in Madison Square Garden. I was there.
Elvis was really handsome in his prime. He could wear anything. His figure is beyond amazing in the jumpsuit. No one could ever look so good in those jumpsuits. Only Elvis! Of course, one might say “You could dress him in a brown paper bag, he would still be stylish.”
He really did have a great physique proportionally speaking. Broad shoulders, long torso, slim waist, even his long arms
@@sashek8451 Agree 100%. His body conforms to the ratio of gold, to complete with a remarkable handsome face. No wonder the ladies threw themselves at him, as they crawled like moths toward a flame.
The beautiful man, and he had a very good taste in clothes.
The King The best The only
Would love more interviews of Bill Belew. Maybe they’re out there and just not on UA-cam, IDK
There are still a few of his original jumpsuits owned by private collectors. They start at 350,000 bucks.
Very cool 👍
The suits enhanced Elvis’ personality and repertoire. The suits looked more attractive in Elvis.
Jumpsuits were great but should have been fazed out ater 75 but the fans loved them , the chicken bone suit was by far the ugliest the peacock was probably the nicest of the later suits but for me the 1970 suits were his best into 72 but after that they became a bit too elaborate and gaudy for my liking ..
The Rainfall and the V-neck were the ugliest, because he was very fat. They would be OK years before.
But I prefer the 1970-71 outfits, and of course some of 1973 and 1974.
@@PauloPereira-jj4jv he was not fat he had fluid retention. The man had congestive heart failure. He was also on prednisone. Created a moon face and fluid in the stomach
Were his jumpsuits cleaned or dry cleaned after each show?? I know he wore the same jumpsuit more than once while on the same tour. If
Elvis was easy to dress up. No sweat.
