But to be honest, I like it, especially when I saw the introducing video from BMW, they did well with the front luggage system, I hate so much one single thing in this bike (it also goes for the LC), is the front light who looks more for a hello kitty electric kids car than a serious offroad bike!!!

Is it one of those bikes that has design that is way ahead of its time?
The only things I like about it is the Tank bag anchor/latch system. Otherwise they massacred what was a svelt/sexy design of the normal GS1300
It looks massive, rugged and has a real masculine appearance…..
It will sell like crazy BECAUSE it’s different and has BMW heritage ( quality and reliability has been proven and demonstrated over and over again since decades)
Just wait for another 12-18 months and this particular model will be around all over the world

Given that this new fuel tank has the same capacity as the 1250 GSA, you would think they could have designed it to possess a more curvilinear aesthetic? The Unimog of adventure bikes!

1 litre of fuel is more like 0.75kg (volume x specific gravity) so that extra fuel capacity is only adding 8kg or so. That’s a heavy beast!
I'll have to see what a well-preserved 1250 Adventure costs. On the other hand, it's super nice.
Do they have a Specsavers in Germany ?, might be a good move for them to set up a shop next door to the BMW HQ.

Absolutely terrible looking bike! If BMW wanted to put off people from buying it then they definitevely achieved it! It looks like a combine harvester Class! No way I would be upgrading it! Now seriously thinking of buying Triumph GT Rocket 3! Powerful and beautifully designed bike!!!!

I like it a lot. Looks better than the 1250, and will certainly be a superior bike to the 1250 just as the 1300GS is. That said, no adventure bike is good looking or sexy.
Totally agree. Adventure bikes are the two wheeled equivalent of 4 wheel SUV's, and neither of them are good looking or sexy; it's all about function over form.

buy a 2017 Suzuki V-strom and go travel the world on a $6000 bike. I do like the looks of this new BMW though. 😁

I would never buy this bike, just because of the looks. Absolutely hideous looking. I would buy the standard 1300 GS, if they fix the seat comfort to be like the 1250, and introduce backlit switch gear.

If there was ever an uglier mess of a bike, then it surely was built at the end of the nineteenth century. They used to call the K100 the flying brick; well then this one must be the brick for the mud, and believe me, disguising it in mud will be its only salvation.

At first I thought hmmm no but after a couple looks it’s grown on me, like a wart, I could get used to it, has a terminator or futuristic look to it, takes a bit of getting used to but yeah might go for it, like the bigger fuel tank and range.
The front might not look so bad with soft cases on the front. give it a chance.

Looks terrible who the hell is designing the new 1300? I'll stick w/ my 1250. Wow, it's like you can pack all the technology you like and improvements, etc. But if you package it in a PT cruiser body and it looks like crap, it will be crap.
First the headlight and front, now the sides, you outdid yourselves w/ fucking up a beautiful BMW 1250 prior design. There is not one angle on the 1300 that looks good outside the rear.
