Those images from about 100 years ago are so high quality because most photographers were using very large format cameras, using either light sensitive glass plates (which can go up to like 9 inch by 12 inch in size, although they are larger sizes on film) and the light is being captured on microscopic crystals. Just imagine a digital camera with a sensor the size of a window, you'd capture a hell of a lot of detail.

the color photo needed three separate shoot, in the time when each shoot required minutes of preparation. and movement meant the three will not coincide (the water looks foggy for this reason in the small river.) and even a single photo was costly, most people simply could not afford the normal one, let alone three and the cost to compile it into a single result

There's something we call "filter" in iran which basically filters Iranian ips so Iranian people couldn't access it. We used VPNs to access them normally but now they have "filtered" more things like Instagram and Whatsapp but more normal things are currently accessable for me at least. And the reason most people can't access them using a vpn is because they filtered the filtering solution but there are too much unknown vpns they couldn't filter and that's why finally after searching for 3 days I could access youtube
    Edit:
You can't get any app the normal way through the store and xiaomi is doing some interesting stuff to say the least to ban us. Fortunately when you know computers you can make a loophole to bypass that

The air vent was not actually fake. French engineers had successfully designed an air vent that could be used, but for safety, adopted a macaroni shaped tube so that if enemies tried to throw an explosive into the air vent, it would be funneled out and not affect the people in the bunker. The air vent in the video probably did act as one, but just had a safety precaution.

Well it wouldn't really have worked. Photography (until late 1880s) was mostly based on light sensitive glass plates, and in the beginning, the chemical coating was liquid, so the camera had to be within a photo studio in order for the photographer to be able to use the camera. Dry plates started appearing in 1871, but as cameras were bulky items to begin with (with the glass plate being at least a few inches in length and height), getting the photo to look right from 3 slightly different angles wasn't really possible.
Also I'm betting there was hundreds of hours of post processing work put into making those slightly darker and lighter black and white images a colour image. Although the colour film that we have today is sort of similar, being sensitive to cyan, yellow and magenta only.
