We set off from our RV campsite at Sand Hollow State Park near Hurricane, Utah to find a spot called Yant Flats aka Candy Cliffs located up in the Red Cliffs Wilderness area north of St. George.
By the photographs found online, it looked like an amazing spot to check out. Very much off the beaten path.
In the video, I show you a bit of dashcam footage of the drive in on a very narrow dirt road, loaded with twists and turns and ups and downs.
Once there we hike in the 1.5 miles across a small high elevation pine tree and scrub forest then scramble down into the colored sandstone cliffs of Yant Flat.
Most of the video contains highlights of the Yant Flats formations, views out to the surrounding countryside and a final slideshow of photos I took while there.

Thanks Ray for your trip reports and videos & Ann's pictures. I look forward to seeing your videos. My wife and I recently retired back in June. Purchased a used MH. Will be heading west, then north in mid April. Kinda of fulltiming. Will be based out of Texas for DR. appointments.
You have been to more beautiful places here in the U.S. Than most U.S. residents. Sure would be great to meet up someday.
    Cheers !
    Darrell

Hi Darrel, You're welcome. Glad you're getting the chance to hit the road. If you get close to us, give me a shout. We are planning to head up the Oregon coast 101 highway in April. Cheers Ray

I did a quick GOOGLE as usual to check elevation and at 4600 ft it's off limits for me but it is *beautiful!* BTW, the listings have it as Yant Flat or Candy Cliffs. Thanks for the view!!

Ya, pretty high for a sea level raised west coast boy like me, too. I was feeling it climbing those cliffs, luckily I've been up fairly high for a while now. Cheers!

Looks like my 4 wheel drive Toyota with small camper is just the ticket for this road. What a gorgeous spot. I have been near here in 2008 but was ignorant of it's existence. Next time!

When I am able to do the RV thing this is on my list to visit. Do you live full time in the fifth wheel or do you still own a sticks and bricks? Thank you for taking the time to show your travels.

We sold our S&B house 5 years ago with plans to move to a new city adn get another one but since the house was sold and we had no ties we decide to take a sabbatical and travel in an RV for a full year. A life long dream of mine.
Well, we are still traveling, haha. We do head back to the same area, Vancouver Island and stay in an RV Park there most of the summer, but come winter we split and head south for warmer temps and adventures. Thanks for watching, Cheers Ray

Thank you for the fast reply! I have a fifth wheel and a ford truck and love being in It and love the idea of one day living in it and seeing all the sites this country has to offer. I would love to quit my job and sell my house and start but I do have of few bills that I want cleared up first. I like your videos and there are others that I watch to keep the dream alive. I am a huge Ford fan and my son and I are big fans of your truck. Sorry to ramble on but I just wanted you too know that I am a huge fan of your channel.

Thanks, it's a beauty, still chugging along after all these years, amazing. We love Big Blue, haha. Taken us on many great adventures and never has broken down to the pint of leaving us stranded.
This summer I plan to give him a treat of an all new exhaust system, last year he got a new fuel injector pump and radiator.
Being debt free is a big thing. You're smart to get the bills off the table first. it will give you such freedom. With the RV lifestyle, you can live quite frugal if need be.

We live in Hollywood, Fl (between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale), and a trip out west would be a worthwhile and loooooong journey for us. Travel safe!

Hi Sammie, thanks for watching. I definitely encourage you to head west, the amount of open and public land out here is amazing compared to the east and with the mountainous topography, the scenery is awesome. It's perfect for RVing, lots of elbow room. :)

You probably already know, but if not Snow canyon is another really cool little camp ground. It has big sand stone rock bordering it so you can walk right from you trailer up onto them. It's limited as far as camp sites, but well worth it if you can get in.
