Did you swap the left and right carb around?

I have a 1980 Cx500C and need to re-bore the cylinders. There's some speculation that they may have a Nikasil sleeve and will need to be replated if this is the case. Do you know whether or not this is true?

i noticed on some cx500s they have an additional mounting plate for the motor above the carbs did you have one?

This bike does not. I'm fairly certain that bikes with the CDI charging/ignition system and rear cover have the 'center' brackets. When I swapped to the TI charging/ignition system, it meant changing the rear cover, which doesn't have a mount for those brackets.

Hello, I've seen your videos and I really want to start the project like this one, but I'm living in Bulgaria and there is nothing here connected to cafe racers. I'll be really greatful if we can chat with few email how I can build my own cafe racer and more clearly the list of parts I need to do this and from where I can buy all parts. Thank you

+Isaiah Shaw I think you mean ratchet? Yeah those top main bolts are tight. I used a half-inch impact wrench.

+Luke Daniel. Ha, thats what I meant. We had to heavily spray it with WD40. We were using a 14mm socket instead of 1/2. A little stripping occured but it should be ready to come off after a WD40 soak.

Hello. A friend and I just got a 81 cx500/gl500 today as a summer project bike. Its in ok, well fair (emphasis on fair) condition, as it was only $100. What was the most difficult part for you in the rebuilding process?

+Isaiah Shaw Sounds like you've got yourself a good project for $100. The most difficult part of the rebuild? Probably patience. Takes a lot more time and care to do everything the right way.
