This is a very good detailed video. I would like to say that the newest eonon (cheaper one $250) has addressed the slow boot times and removed the eonon logo from the bottom. Boot now is now within 1 sec.

Just a quick tip to everyone: those red clips have to be turned 90 degrees when removing and installing. Best way to do that is to insert a big enough flat head inside the hole and use it to twist them without damage

Yes you can split any app. Not yet the bracket is expensive but I will be. It has auto brightness

Doesn't this radio come with a in-built mic? Is it really necessary the installation of that mic?
Get some carbon fiber wrap to cover up that outdated wood trim on eBay cheap and looks great
I personally think CF wrap looks cheap looking for a good deal on cubed trim or brushed aluminum trim
Don’t buy the cheap quality one and the look all depends on your job applying it take your time and you’ll get good results
Does it support a Sirius Radio connection?
If you have a factory cd changer in the back, is there a way to connect that to this unit as well?

Its working in all e46? i have from 1998 1din radio without one part, down of main socket. i think its for aux. 2gb ram is enough, its not lagging?
yo how's your GPS work with that positioning? i did this recently and my first test drive it was total shit, jumpin all over the place not sure of where my car was on Waze, spazzing out telling me to turn around / traveling in reverse lol - you wind up reworking your gps location?
Is the internal mic good enough for phone calls or do you need to install external mic?
I have never tested it before from what I heard it’s not that bad

You only need the separate harness with you have the factory navigation

Evan Goyuk sorry for so many question but online there's a picture with a wiring harness and it says if your harness is missing 4 pins then this radio won't work areyou familiar with that at all? Also did you buy this from the manufacture directly?

Eonon Official - just had this same unit put in.
There’s a looping scratching noise that as soon as you start the car won’t go away. Doesn’t matter if the music is off or on.
When I put the car in R - the reverse camera flickers and often goes black.
The boot time feels like it takes forever.

Great video! I feel better that I can actually do this myself. I have an e46 with Harmon Kardon. Everything I've found so far tells me I have to get a separate extension to route to the trunk. Seems like quite a pain so I was wondering if you knew of any alternatives, if there is a different adapter or if it will actually work similarly to the plug in your video?
You only need to run an extension to your trunk if you have the factory nav
Thanks for the thorough install details. I have been trying to get that climate control to relocate with no extra parts as a particular vendor selling a very similar unit claims can be done. I had the exact issues as you. Yes it fits but not like factory. I will look into the bracket you mention.
Can you change the time on the unit itself? If so, since it is CAN BUS does the dash change? My knob in the dash isnt working ;-)

I just got the Eonon GA9350 and I cannot get the sound to work for the life of me. I have the Harmon Kardon sound system in a 2001 330ci with no navigation. There's just a blue wire that says "Amp power", I am guessing that's the issue but it goes to no where and is just a cut off wire. No connector or anything
That amp turn is for aftermarket amp. Has your speakers worked with your old radio?
Units are decent...nothing special, but the customer service kills it for me. Save your money and buy a unit from a company that has a decent customer service. I have one under warranty and they keep asking the same questions over and over even though I have answered the questions a million times. Then they tell you they will send a replacement....part... not unit. Then send you videos on how to attmpt to fix the issue on your own!

I was about to swap out the factory system in my 03 e39 with the entire system from an e38 (my old 740i), but I may instead try this guy out.

Good video man. I wish someone had a video of how to run the extension harness for an e46 with factory nav. Debating on how to run the extension harness; either through the back seats, back sill plate, B pillar, front sill plate and so on..or through the center console.

Man, you should look at the Xtrons 9" screen. It is identical to this system, but with a much bigger and better screen, and Android 8.0 instead of 7. I also have an E46, and use to have this same Eonon Head Unit. But it will give you problems with switching functions without you touching anything. So I switched to the Xtrons Head Unit. Much nicer system all the way around. And my music sounds so much better as well. It's called the PE9846BPL by Xtrons. And it's cheaper by 70+ dollars.
I drive a 2005 e46 coupe. On the eonon website it says it fits the 1999-2004 models and they don't mention the 2005 models. I guess it's the same tho?

You know you could’ve saved a shit load of time and effort if instead of wiring the microphone through the drivers side dash you shouldn’t gone through the passenger side and into the glovebox and up thru the pillar
I think that the microphone cable could prevent the airbag from deploying correctly. Be carefull!

Hey man what happened to that USB cable, where do they get routed? Also is the aux through one of the USB's if you didn't want to run Bluetooth, or is it only Bluetooth?
Usb cable is in the glove for now I couldn’t find any better place. So the radio supports an aux but you would have to buy a rca to aux cable. It also supports usb to a phone connection. Then lastly Bluetooth, so there are three ways to connect your phone.

there is another place to put it. You can pass the usb wire beneath the steering column in the gap between the panel that's above your knees (the one you are removing with the two philips screws) and the steering column and then by using a 3M scratch tape stick it on the dashboard left, next to the unit.
What headlamps are you running? They look nice. I can’t see anything at night with the factory ones.

Hello, can anyone help me with an opinion or advice. I have a similar navigation, but not the steering wheel controls do not work with the navigation, I have to connect certain wires as I have two wires that do not go anywhere, more precisely steering wheel control 1 and 2.

When I put an Eonon GA9166A in my E53 it has static on every station. With stock unit it was crystal clear all the time. How good is your in the E46 unit?
Alan Here You need to connect the blue ANT cable from the head unit to the beige cable in your loom. That will add the “power on” signal to the antenna in the rear window.
