I saw her live at a pub once and that voice is utterly incredible, the range and feeling left me in awe. Vanessa is the most underrated singer, she should be world renowned, she's in a league of her own.
Vanessa is next level great! She came back 3 times to a small country town to perform at their music festival and was brilliant every time. You couldn't wish to meet a nicer person too!

It's her song...she co-wrote it and she has it on one of her albums.
The production song is faster and not as soulful sounding but still a great song.
This live version has been slowed and sung with a really emotional tone to match the occasion and I'd actually love to have this version as a production record on an album as an alternative version as it's absolutely beautiful.

You need to listen to Anthony Callea sing the prayer on his own from he's saying it in the finale of Australian, not sure which you have to look that up .

This is a much slower and orchestral version of Perfect. And it’s difficult to say which is the best version of this song. I usually dislike it when vocalists fluctuate between octaves and change songs around…(I find it irritating when Mariah does it). However, Vanessa can do it. I’m an Australian and I am only just latching onto Vanessa. She is astounding. And she is amazing live. I’ve caught her at some of the Red Hot Summer tours in recent years.

I've always loved her song "perfect". This is a beautiful stripped down version of it.
I noticed you mentioned Whitney there. It reminded me of this old video of Vanessa singing "I will always love you". This was a few years before she was signed for first record, apparently. So she would have been about 15/16.

And that is where Whitney and Celine went wrong, they belted the whole song from start to finish to the point it got boring and ear aching.
That’s funny because they’re both well known for starting a song very soft for the first half and then letting loose after the climax. In fact that’s pretty much their signature and their forte….
I just wanted to add about Vanessa, as amazingly talented as she is, I have seen her in the only two songs I know from her so far, “heroes” and “a natural woman” giving too much too soon. It’s just funny that somebody would try to say that it’s the other way around and that she’s the one who gives less at the beginning.
