Hey what's the tool you guys are using to snip ref and pull up the ability to draw on it really quick? Ctrl Alt S doesnt have the paint tools on the righthand side like this one.
And I thought the CGI-Grand Moff Tarkin from Rogue One was in the uncanny valley... but Prince Philip is beyond uncanny - and he isn't even CGI. This guy has the definitive look of a Star Wars villain! ;-)
Hello! Love these. Would you be fine adding a little menu in the side showing what keys/mouse buttons you're pressing at a given time? It would really help me get a sense of what's going on for hotkeys and whatnot.
Hi FlippedNormals! I was recently watching a video about daily practice. Since I'm relatively new to 3D sculpting, what kinds of exercises would you recommend for doing hour-long daily practice sessions?
Very interesting. As an old guy I particularly enjoyed your views on old people and our decline in looks that could only come from young and fresh people. Still, smugly, I know life is a one way trip and you have all these wrinkles to look forward to. Good article though.
Im almost certain that grima worm tongue was used as inspiration for the white orc. Watch the lotr and that scene where he cries, looks just like the orc.
How do you bring up that draw window where you can draw some reference or notes (you used bright green). Is that a plugin? What's the name of the tool?
You could try PureRef. It's a popular reference viewing tool. www.pureref.com Edit: I've also had a look for LightShot for you. I'm not sure if this is the one, but that's what I found. app.prntscr.com/en/index.html
@@FlippedNormals I was commissioned to make the Mandalorian helmet with accuracy as the main objective. It took many many more hours of modeling and communication with my client than anticipated to please him. Thankfully he was willing to pay me more for the unanticipated hours of small tweaks and proportion changes.
I would have loved it if you just used him as a reference and didn't mention how rude it actually is. If any of your videos can go viral that it is this one.
A very informative video but I feel like there was far too much ageism and cruelty to the elderly in it. To refer to elderly people in such terms seems uncouth. It was funny at first but it ended up being too much as it kept going. You guys are better than that. Should we reach such an age ourselves, I would hope for better treatment from the younger generations. Still, good points on limiting your reference to not get too generic.
Came for the info, stayed for the absolute roast of a royal member
If you guys disappear without a trace, this vid should be provided as evidence
He looks like a lizard wearing a human skin
We need a safe word
@@FlippedNormals butthole muscles
This looks quite awesome, but isn't it kinda weird to use an Undead as reference for a Goblin?
😂

This is literally just a 20 minute long roast of prince Philip. Love it!
"He looks dead"
I laughed so hard
this aged well XD
Oh fuck yeah
@@Scry333 r u dead or nah?
The thumbnail is f-ing killing me I literally said oh my god outloud
"nice royal tumor or an optical illusion" lmao
Could really go either way
laugh hard on that one... lol
Great video! Loved the amount of details you put on him! I hadnt thought about the high details being done with the clay sculpt. Thanks again!
one of the best likeness sculpting tutorial on the internet
This is straight savage
I really loved the breakdown on how you guys used reference for your sculpts. Great Vlog!
To be honest you guys are one of the best teacher for answering 3d related question ......... I wish you had a full course of 3d modeling
Hey what's the tool you guys are using to snip ref and pull up the ability to draw on it really quick? Ctrl Alt S doesnt have the paint tools on the righthand side like this one.
I've never laughed so much watching a 3d tutorial
hats off, sirs. hats off

This aged like fine wine
XD the thumbnail and subject choice is amazing!
@Flipped Normals What is that tool you use, where you can drag out an area and then annotate it with different colored lines?
Was there ever an anwser for this? I’m wondering the same thing
Hello! Love these. Would you be fine adding a little menu in the side showing what keys/mouse buttons you're pressing at a given time? It would really help me get a sense of what's going on for hotkeys and whatnot.
Best Thumbnail of all time
It practically made itself :D
Philips been real quiet since this dropped.
Love it! Are you use graphic tablet or mouse?
I love that this video just got recommended to me
A fine tribute
Yes we definitely want to see more videos like this... 😄👍
Hi FlippedNormals! I was recently watching a video about daily practice. Since I'm relatively new to 3D sculpting, what kinds of exercises would you recommend for doing hour-long daily practice sessions?
Face likeness
Manage basic shapes in one hour or two. Usually, scratch it once you're done and do again. Once you git gud, get to secondary form and so on
This is what being 99 does to a man
Impressive that he's still alive

Great video guys thanks! What is the software you've used to capture and draw on it ?
"He's kinda dead already" lol
guys i got a question how u suddenly freeze the background to draw on it and simplifying shapes !!
What was the drawing tool you used over the top of the screen?
Love the sculpt BTW :)
It's called lightshot
@@FlippedNormals Thanks guys, I was going to ask the same thing. Great video too, I shared it with my students 👌
Made my day. Great sculpt!
Incredibly informative and interesting, another amazing video!
How do you draw on top of screen?
I just like how you use lightshot to paint explanations.
That's was cool! Thank you))
I love your channel ;))
Amazing, thank you.
So at 0:20 I was looking at all the reference images on the left, then the one on the top right immediately killed me XD
I love flipped normals.

Damn this was a massive roast xD Gotta cut him some slack though, he's like 90+ and was pretty handsome in his youth

So my guys I have some interesting news from the future
The resemblance between the two is uncanny!
Hello from the future.
THAT THUMBNAIL!! XD lmfao.... I may be a New Yorker but I'm also Irish and that made my fucking day lol
Thank you 🙏
Any time!
Yes. Sheldon Adleson makes the perfect reference for a zombie.
I'm a 3d print artist for cosplay. I become a slave to reference images every week. Its my job.
Copying things verbatim is so time consuming.
Yeah it really can be, especially when you're aiming to re-create something that exists

it's a really good video, and brings up a lot of good stuff, but I think the end result looks a bit bland compared to the reference photos.
Prince Philip is Emperor Palpatine. I'm sure of it!
Fact
false. Pope Benedict is Palpatine

I was waiting for a giggle when he said "butt hole" but I was the only one who did.
Aye sculpt on blender! 😃
Sculpt is very good, but why all of this had to be done in a such disrespectful manner?

"Roasting Prince Philip for 20 straight minutes"
That's crazy 😂
To quote HRH himself: uhhhdd gheaa fleehhaaauuoo
if by more videos like this you mean roasting royalty, than yes, please make more.
The only thing I need to add to that reference are horns.
"Prince" where Pixar/Disney gets reference for their prince!!? because real-world prince is great for troll or zombie..
Am I the only person that sees references to Mr. Burns from Simpsons here ?? xd
now i see it
Awesome
Good reference choice, he is very creepy lol
I've been saying for YEARS that these soulless politicians look like monsters from children's books.... As we can see here, I'm not wrong.

Mr. Burns
fun fact: Prince Phillip is a vampire
