RM doesn't want to follow what society expects from him to be or do. The last girl represents his inner true voice and helps him getting out of all those normal life sceneries and live his life the way he wants.

I think this MV could also kind of connect to The Midnight Library that Namjoon was reading during In the Soop Season 2. In that book, someone has the opportunity to step into other lives they might have had if they had made different descisions at various points in their life. And in the end Namjoon chooses the life that is right for him. That doesn't explain everything, but I think that could be another perspective on the various "lives" he seems to find himself wandering into from room to room. I love this MV! It really makes you think!

Omg I’m so early. The women were different. Like you said it was him living in different life situations. At a party, with a wife and kids, in a toxic relationship, and even as a baby. This video was a masterpiece and I’ve seen so many interpretations. My fav one I’ve seen is how we go through life not feeling like we fit in anywhere and just feel out of place. We feel a need to conform to societal standards and act and do the things society tells us to do. Like being a sociable person at a party, have a wife and kids, have a perfect relationship, and be an enthusiastic kid. We’re all just trying to figure out how to navigate life which is represented by the maze he’s in and him running around trying to figure out where to go. Then he bumps into the woman who was seemingly a reflection of him, someone who he saw himself in because she was also running around trying to figure out where to go just like he was. Which shows how we are not alone in being lost and that other people are going through the same journey of life. They then sit and have a conversation and we finally see him smile and lighten up. He feels less alone and is starting to appreciate life for what it is. Then now in all of those situations he’s truly happy. At the end the woman leads him out of the door he couldn’t open at first into what I think is a symbolism of freedom or inner peace. Freedom from the expectations that others place on us about how to be or live a certain way. For me it really seemed like a journey of self discovery and acceptance.

You know its a BTS video when you finish it very confused what happened. There are so many interpretations and they all fit. I think it will be interesting to see how this works into the rest of the album and the other 4 MVs that are getting released. The coloring and lighting all feel significant. Just very artistic and a vibe.

Love this. Like BTS led the way to show a group of artists, industry outsiders can do the impossible and make it big not obeying the rules. RM proves you dont have to sell out. You can be the artist you want. My theory in RMs work every mix tape and album is different from the last. His first self titled mix tape the track DO YOU( the song that says clearly he refuses to be labelled or boxed into any genre). He is continuously pushing boundaries. In a way thats what is also happening in the mv. RM wanders around depressed confused and unhappy through all these potential different lives and expectations never being comfortable. We see this has been so since he was small. At some point he becomes more comfortable in each scenario after being united with his other half/ self, and he can be more comfortable with others. But he still doesnt stay, he moves on finds himself and accompanies the woman( his other half Jung or Plato?) out of the maze of societies expectations to find non of it's real. In the light he sees its all fake sets designed and created by someone else. However with RM there is always light at the end. Hope of better futures now he can see what life is about, he is free of those boxes. There are several clues for ARMY buried within the MV. Pain Devine. During a conversation piece with Pharrell Williams they discussed judging lyrics by how painful they are to produce ...pain divine, devine inspiration?

Running through the maze, he cannot seem to open one door, a door that might symbolize his self-awareness and acceptance. Until he chance upon Minha, his other self. As you may notice in a few parts of the music video, Minha was running through the maze looking for Namjoon. Until it transitions that Namjoon becomes her

Thanks for your reaction. BTS in the past has explored psychological themes and obviously this has led to processes of self-observation, reflection and healing. Here I think Namjoon explores the idea of the "Person", the mask we wear before society where we fulfill the role that others expect of us
The meaning of the concept of BTS album "Map of the Soul" has to do with four versions related to analytical psychology of the book "The map of the soul according to Jung": Persona, Anima, Self and Shadow. Remembering that Jung was one of the most popular psychoanalysts of the 20th century and founder of depth psychology, which is mainly based on what exists between consciousness and the unconscious.
Without going into so much detail about these 4 aspects of being according to Jung... The Anima is the feminine aspect present in the collective unconscious of men and the Animus is the masculine aspect present in the collective unconscious of women. In other words, we all have feminine and masculine energy, although one prevails over the other in each individual. So BTS "Map of the Soul" albums seek to generate a journey towards the encounter with ourselves and the acceptance of the "I" among them the integration of our polarity, be it feminine or masculine.
Namjoon is a deep artist, he is philosophical so it seems to me that it is a self-reflection about finding himself. The Anima is usually associated with deep emotionality and the force of life itself. In a way, the anima represents a living image of the soul and the spiritual contents of the person. For Jung, the "Person" acts as an intermediary with the social world and the "Anima" with the inner world. Notice how in one moment he is face to face with the woman who is in the same situation as him and then the camera focuses on Namjoon... it is no longer him but the woman, that is, his Anima... he finds himself, see inside.
And if you remember Jimin's "Like crazy" video... there is a moment in which he also meets a girl, that is, with his Anima (in the choreography when Jimin sings that he sees his reflection... in that part he dances alone with one of his dancers, facing each other) and in his album Face he also confronts himself, stops fleeing from reality, it is a confession of the phase he went through emotionally during the pandemic and therefore the representation of his Anima with the dancer
This is my interpretation of what I understood from the video and based on other BTS works
    Regards from Mexico 💜
