- WFSU-TV reporter Diane Hoffman interviews E.E. Calaway, author of "In the Beginning," who claims that Torreya State Park located in Bristol, FL is the biblical Garden of Eden. Mr. Callaway recites passages from the Bible that describe the mystical garden and compares them to features along the Apalachicola River. He attests that two features of the landscape prove his claim. The first is that the Apalachicola River is the only river in the world with four heads. The second is the presence of the gopherwood tree, which Noah used to build the ark. According to Callaway, the Bible claims that both elements were unique to the legendary garden and they are unique to Torreya State Park.

This IS a beautiful area. Tallahassee, west to Chatahoochie and down to St Marks. I would strongly recommend visiting Wakulla Springs, for those of you who love unspoiled Florida.
Thank you for sharing! I'll add that this tree is not only endangered, it is critically engaged. People claim a fungus, others claim global warming, but unfortunately this tree is hard to grow nowadays. There are some efforts to grow them with help of human knowledge, I hope it works. Yes.... (Edited Typos) I found it after an hour of research. There's so many so-called Gardens of Eden in The USA. One is in California.
Yet, I am not far from Bristol, Fla. I believe the Garden of Eden is here as well. I was closer than I thought.

A Lawyer and Preacher named Elvy Callaway got a lot of publicity a generation or two ago by claiming that the biblical Garden of Eden was in northern Liberty County. E.Vy was a country lawyer and a Baptist preacher.
He said the evidence was that the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee River system has four heads, just like the river described in the Bible.
The Country Lawyer E.V Calloway also said that the area is rich in Gopher wood. The same wood that The Most High Elohim's instructed Noah to use to build the ark.of safety to preserve the lives of him, his family and the different pairs of animals saved from the flood.

Further evidence, said E. V Calloway, was that the area from the Chattahoochee River south to Bristol contains 28 of the 30 varieties of trees mentioned in the Bible.
He believed that the Garden of Eden started about 4 miles north of Bristol and extended north into Georgia, and it was 25 miles wide in an east-west direction, and 35 miles long in the north-south direction.
The Garden of Eden was a Bristol, Florida Tourist Attraction
The area of Callaway's Garden of Eden became a minor tourist attraction in the 1950s through the 1970s.
People visited it for the chance to see the birthplace of Eve (Hawah), Adam and Lilith.
I would thoughtfully enjoy looking at the amazing variety of plants and trees in the area.
You can get a glimpse of the natural beauty of this area by visiting Torreya State Park. Keep your eyes open for the gopher wood tree, torreya taxifolia.

I'm from NW Florida and I've been all types of places ( grew up poor and never thought that I'd ever travel ) but my husband's work afforded that ( before covid of course lol ) and every time I go somewhere my heart pines for my home land. I never want to live any where else. I love all of Florida but even after Hurricane Micheal I still love every mile of North west Florida. I hope the section of Heaven I get to has live oaks and moss. I wonder if the snake in the Garden was a copperheadedWaterRattler? LOL just kidding about that. Maybe a Pison Python?

I did have to stop the video and do some checking up when he said that Onyx is Marble; it isn't. Mable is a metamorphosed limestone whereas Onyx is a type of Chalcedony.

A co worker and I was just talking about this so looked up. One thing that preachers like him will never accept or understand the Garden of Eden was destroyed by the Flood. Adam and Eve was not the first two people they was the only two people to had been in the garden of eden and was cast out.

He created a specific race from which the Messiah would come and satan tried to interfere. Cain descended from Eve/satan, the serpent (Revelation 12:9) and took a wife from the 6th day creation. @@IzzahStout-vh1zo I personally believe in pangea, and that the flood changed that drastically and rapidly (as opposed to billions of years of continental drift etc). That's what the evidence appears to show to me when being honest and humble but all the modern scientists disagree of course, because they must all push the same narrative to keep their paychecks and reputations. As for the gopher wood, idk, I'm not exactly convinced they found that, or that this area is the real garden of eden.
