I am continuing where I left off from that video and in this video I will be upgrading the suspension arms all to metal. Below is a link to where you can purchase everything used in this video:

    My stock shocks did allow for oil. Just unscrew the tops as normal

      UltimateWarrior206 I was going to just do that but I wanted to upgrade to the cool looking blue metal shocks instead.

    I know this video is old, but a while back I got a full set of aluminum upgrade parts and have been slowly upgrading as needed. I found one small issue with the rear suspension arms though. The stock screws (m2.5x17 round screw) aren't the correct thread for the aluminum arms. Did you have issues with this or did your arms come with new screws. Mine did not come with these.

    • @ReadytoRunRC
      @ReadytoRunRC  9 місяців тому

      The stock screws are meant for screwing into plastic so it so does have a different thread pattern than what’s used for screwing into metal. The arms I got in this video came with the correct screws I needed to screw into the aluminum.

      @@ReadytoRunRC Were they fully threaded or just the end by the head like the original? I think I'll have to source some. They look to be M2 threads I think?

    I'm just getting into RC cars at age 41 hehe,I have just ordered this model as I heard some great things about it as it's highly upgradeable and great out the box anyway.
    I have a very noobie question from someone that knows bugger all about cars in general let alone RC cars hehe but is there a way how to increase the height of the suspension so ground clearance is much higher for off-road,also what tyres would anyone recommend for great traction but also for offroading.
    Cheers in advance for any advice anyone would be happy to help with.

    • @ReadytoRunRC
      @ReadytoRunRC  3 роки тому

      Nothing wrong with being 41 and into RC’s. I’m 41 as well. It is a very upgradeable RC and a solid choice for a budget hobby grade rc to get yourself into the hobby.
      You can raise your height by getting some bigger wheels and tires which I did that. If you look through my videos you will see the wheel tire upgrade I did to this. Also changing the stock shocks for adjustable aluminum shocks would help too. This car does ride a little low from stock so raising the ground clearance was a must for me.

      I'm waiting to see someone throw some alternate a arms from something bigger on it ! This thing is so cool ! I build the tmaxx supermaxx trucks but the parts are hard to find and very expensive ! I have 600$ in the bulkheads and diffs alone in one of them ! I had to find something cheaper to "play" with ! Lol! Very relaxing hobby .And this has become my new favorite for the moment ! I'm currently waiting on the brushless setup to arrive .just the basic 50$ upgrade with motor esc transmitter and 25a receiver .After doing more research I should have just bought the motor and esc .oh well live and learn ! BTW I'm 52 And love this hobby !

    • @ReadytoRunRC
      @ReadytoRunRC  4 роки тому +1

      Titten Tei I am using a product called Loctite. You should use it. After you put the screw in, it will dry and secure the screw so it doesn’t come back out. You can get that at any hardware store, hobby shop or even on Amazon. Hope you can find some so your screws don’t keep falling out. Thanks for the sub!
