The Idris !!! What a beast. You don't control IT. IT controls you ! It's the outlier - in comparison every other cymbal here sounds so polite. My one is 3328g and when crashed the complex high pitched overtones are crazy and extremely beautiful.
I love the older Med. 30 th 22 inch Ride. Very Fine Specimen. Your playing is so fulfilling also! You play just the way I wish I could play if only I had those hands : )
Interesting to hear all your rides. I really dig the 22 30th on the hi-hat side somewhere after half the video. The 23 on the same side, last pair, is very interesting. Musical blend of intonation and sustain. Very warm.
The Idris, the 30th Ann. 22", and the 23" Signature. Oh and the 26 30th Anniversary - how cool and smoky, but low pitched for sitting underneath the bass. This company is crackling with good cymbals. I don't think anyone else has cracked the code quite like they have.
Agop cymbals including those hi hats all sound great. I’m a fan. And I see that Cole’s microphone, seems so good. Lastly, saw you’re trying out traditional grip now, hope you like it. I’m at times considering using it, I like the snare tone I get from the stick angle to the head.
Thanks for making this awesome content Carter! Beautiful cymbals of course, but the recording- the room, the mics, pre and post and the most influential factor- Mr McLean. I wondered if you experience the same cymbal sounding different to you some days Also when demoing a cymbal do you have an idea how it will sound under your mic’s before recording with it ? Kind regards Rob
Do you happen to know the weight of the 22” dry dark brilliant crash you used for your recent version of Hideout? (I believe it was a 22; it was positioned on your left.) The swell sounded so wonderful. Thank you!
I lOOOVED all those “modern” designs until the Mel Lewis model. Maybe I’m just used to the sound or just like a “ride” sound without the complex, dry, the new “washy” qualities that the new tradition of drummers seem to like more I guess.
I love the "stickier" cymbals like the 20" sig (#2), 21" mel lewis (#11), "22 30th (#12), and the "23's. Those 23's might be my favourites of the bunch. Never sell those :)
Amazing. Recently got the new 22 trad jazz medium, and loving it. The OG jazz had a touch too much wash and spread for my taste. They crushed it with these additions imo.
Excuse my ignorance but what is the OG jazz? Was the "Traditional Jazz" line originally not branded by weight category and generally weighed less than the "medium"?
I got my first Istanbul Agop a few weeks ago. After selling off my K’s and Constantinople’s… the 22” Jazz ride …. Speechless…. It’s so dark. Has a singular overtone. I freaking love it!!!! In all my years I have been married to snares and some drum kits…. But never loyal to cymbals. They don’t last long with me. Always flipping them. So I ordered the Xist Dark Dry Brilliant 21” to go with it… wow. Love it also. Next week I will order the 20” Jazz ride to pair with the 22”. FYI: Agop’s are about 45% cheaper in Istanbul. Recently visited there.

I really appreciate your recording chops Carter, these comparison videos you make are better than most by far because you get such a natural sound.
His skill is equal to the beauty of those cymbals. Wonderful!
these recordings are truly inspirational for beginner drummer like myself. Please continue sharing, Carter.

yeah that older 30th 22 is monneyyyyy
I'm more into classic sounding cymbals, so the Mel Lewis 21" was the pick. But they're all awesome in their own right
The 30th anniversary are just superb, the 26" is just special.
Great progress on left hand development with traditional grip.
23" signature ❤

Carter, you are so good, man, I could listen to this all day.

Interesting how much the sound varies. Thanks, it was a joy to listen to!
I just came to watch the drumming.
Awesome playing. Could listen to this all day
kinda miss that NO BRAND TIN
just caught a pair of Xist brilliant hi hats 14" for 150$ . Love ur vids, been learning a lot from them!
That 26 inch is amazing! sounds like it has rivets but not
Beautiful collection .. Incredible playing as always 🙏
Great video, a pleasure to watch and very informative. These extended type demos remind me of the Birdman soundtrack, cheers.
Mel lewis and Joey waronker, very “sweet” sounding, very versatile. 👌👌

Hey Carter, I could be wrong but I don’t think I’ve ever seen you play a Special Edition Jazz ride, not a fan?
Amazing! What drumheads are you using?
Mel Lewis 21”! I’ve got the same))
man, every ride will sound good if youre playing!!! really clean and groovy
Yep ❤🔥
Holy crap
Carter, any upcoming shows? Just moved to Connecticut and see that you've played in the area before

May the best sounding cymbals ob the Market, but they aren't produced anymore as far as I know.
Great video. I love all my Agop Ride, I have a dozen of them, but why isn't there even a Special Edition Jazz? Is there a particular reason? Thanks.
His idris Muhammad covers that ground imo
1:10
INSANITY
What hihats?
15” trad jazz hats
Name a better drummer
Marter CcLean - in a parallel universe
We have that 24" Joey Waroneker on the kit at church. It took me so long to get used to that thing. It's a wiggly beast!
Question...
For toms, which drumhead is more sounding of a real skin drumhead?
a) Strata 1000
b) Calftone

Fantastic Carter. Agop we don"t ser too much here in Brazil. But wonderful
Dream team.
this is rice city paradise to say the least. ride cymbal a go-go.... your playing is so extraordinary they all sound absolutely fabulous.
Loving the slagverket hoodie my man🥁😎
It’s your hand that makes them sound nice.

Yeah, out of all the big brand cymbals out there going for the golden era sound, the sticky Agops are my favourite.
26'' 30th still on top
From when approximately are the first two 30th Ann.? I'm always wondering which period has which specific patina/hammering/lathing
The first one is from last week. Brand new. The others I’ve had for about 7 years. The patina darkens over time

@@pibroch It just means original...with a little respect. The original traditional jazz ride.

20” signature one rivet…just oooooh so nice like the quintessential ride sound…but amazingly light too
those 22" 30th mediums are special cymbals. The Signature with the rivets is a favorite too!
Could you please make a video on how you tune your drums?
Love that snare! As always, Great vid 🤙👍👌
That Mel Lewis Ride is a beauty.🙏
any flats?
Nice sweater 😁 I was there.
