    I’ve caught so many stocked trout this season. I use soft plastics that represent carp and trout minnows. 2 inch, no bigger and magbite micro jig heads. Mostly from Berwick springs. However there’s so much carp! But I don’t really bait fish. They’re so hard to catch because their mouths are soft and very weary fish. People catch and release them and blame it on other people for taking predatory fish. Where they come from, there’s pike, Zander, bass and perch. Also Danube salmon and BIIIIIIGGGGH CATFISH.

    Very interesting video Alan good to see you working with the VFA... I actually subscribe to your channel however as I am a Ballarat local (don't hold that against me haha) I pricked my ears up at this episode for obvious reasons... The way you presented & explained information was great... The outcome to me was very surprising... As I mentioned elsewhere -- The yellow buoys are definately markers from the rowing club I thought it was very careless of the rowing club. They would have a pretty good idea how many are missing so ??? Disapointed a rowing club doesn't want to look after its home ground waterway.... I guess that is part of the shocking truth about lake Wendouree ---- I had grown to have a lot of faith in what you do & say however now hmmmm not sure as you made it look like it was raining in Sunny Ballarat..... Ta Fanks

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  Місяць тому

      It's not an easy thing, I think most people expect you to put on a smartphone press record and the fish to jump on your hook. Often it's hours and hours of working through those slower moments and relentless dedication to create content consistently. Persistence and continual learning and improvements are critical. There are so many things to catching consistently, its just something you learn with years and years of experience, what to target, when to target them and how it's the reason why I built FishingMad members area to help share as much of that knowledge as I can on top of this channel. For most people my best advice is just to have fun with it, enjoy the experience and if your decicated and improve the catches will come.

    • @seedias5961
      @seedias5961 Місяць тому +1

      @@fishingmad pity the rowing clubs couldn’t be bothered cleaning them up. My initial thoughts that they were buoys from nets!
      I am actually on the waiting list for a fisheries officer job! In the induction the screened a video of an undercover operation which “netted” 3 men illegally netting out from the mouth of the Werribee river! The haul they got was amazing! Have you ever fished there yourself?

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  Місяць тому +1

      Yeah i know the officers that did that bust, they told me about the massive volumes of bream, pinkies, mulloway etc. Its a great spot can be tough, its shallow and tidal. Land based access is tricky and full of snakes and can be tricky on the yak coming back, but worth the effort
