I rigged my Cinewhoop with Caddx Vista on top of the Solo...shall see what this acro mode is all about finally with that V2 google action :) Also, we can't use this with the original gimble? video coming later
Which 3rd party gimbal is that and was it easy to install? Breaking ny 3DR out aftrr a few years and rather upgrade to a better camera than buying a new drone entirety. I assume there is a 3rd party gimbal i can use with this Side pilot chip like your drone to be able to run a better gopro than the hero 3 and stock gimbal i have.
Yup. Gimbal set up and some fpv footage. I am just starting to get into fpv. Wouldn't dare acro my solos...yet. I was thinking just stick pad a mini cam vtx combo with battery to the go pro mount. I would really just love to see the solo acro.
Hi Dan, Just picked up a 3DR Solo at a yard sale that looks unused but it comes with a gimbal and extra batteries and extended range antenna etc etc. The only thing is I am green to this whole experience and was wondering how I go about getting the Solo to be on higher level. First I don't have a GoPro so I am just wondering at the current moment what's the highest GoPro I can attach to the gimbal? Guessing the hero 8 by your video. Just looking for guidance to make my Solo totally cool Many thanks Zach
Going to be honest I quit caring and just moved on. There's not enough interest left in the solo anymore to keep the project moving forward in a positive way. I'm just now only flying fpv freestyle race drones no more GPS my solo just sits on the Shelf at this point
I still would like a Solo. Just don't know if I ever will. Solo with this upgrade. Upgrade the Flight controller (if you can even get the green cube!) Purchase a new GoPro. What's that going to cost? I think I'll just wait and see if DJI bring out the Mini 3.
I have upgraded with the green cube and the here gps. Green cube now works with solex, so no real need to upgrade. This is a workhorse drone which is open source. To me, it is the best drone for work (photogrammetry, multispectral).
Watched this a couple of days ago and the Sidepilot site has been down the whole time. Does anyone know for certain if this works with the GoPro 10? Does it require the Media Mod? Anyone actually have it working?
I am trying to find out since they have a bluetooth version now for the go pro 8, 9, 10. I emailed them yesterday but no answer yet. I have a hero8 and 9.
Hi, my name is Michael, based on European law I ignored my Solo for about 2 years. Now I had to find out that the App is no longer working and supported. I haven't got a clue how the open software works. To put it straight I am looking for someone to guide me through. Cheers Michael
Well Michael I don't really guide people through anything all you need to do is download the solex app after you purchase it and get it connected to the solo and you can fly again
