Danke Anja! We love your chart as it's great for visual learners. I agree with you that it's not important to know if the verb is "weak" or "strong." I personally don't even like those words "weak" and "strong," as I feel the terms "regular" or "irregular" verb are more appropriate. Weiter!
Dear Anja, thank you for the energy and talent you put into these videos. Much appreciated. I would ask a question, if you don't mind. What kind of verb is ''haben''? I found somewhere that it is a strong verb. However, it has -t in the participle form, and the vocal ''a'' stays in the past form. I'm confused.

It's actually almost like the regular and irregular verbes in English.
Hallo Anja, ich hätte gerne eine Frage. Falls ich richtig verstanden habe, unterscheidet man starke und schwache Verben nach ihrer Bildung in Vergangenheitsformen. Aber es gibt auch die Verben, die im Präsens eine Vokaländerung haben (bei der zweiten und bei der dritten Person). "Ich lese", aber "du liest, er list". "Ich laufe", aber "du läufst, er läuft". Wie heißt denn diese Gruppe von Verben? Ich verstehe, alle Verben aus dieser Gruppe sind stark (nach der Bildung in Vergangenheit), es muss aber eine andere Bezeichnung sein.

"I'm just glad that you're still here." 😉 Before you were born, there was a thing (in America at least) called The Phone Book. It was a huge book containing a list of the name, address, and... phone number of every person in a city or county. So, if you really like someone's voice, you would say, "I could listen to her read the Phone Book." That was a helpful video and I will always still be here. 🥰

I understand how to conjugate them but how do you differentiate which ones are strong and which ones are weak? im going crazy trying to find out
Ultimately you have to memorise but I go by English - the strong/mixed verbs in English and German are mostly the same. For example you say 'I sing. I sung' not 'I sing. I singed'. Same in German: 'Ich singe. Ich sange'. not 'Ich singe. Ich singte.'

hi, ania. I am from India. I cannot remember the articles which article (die, das, der) is applied to which nouns or place. is there an easy way to learn the same.

When do know when to use prateritum or perfekt? If i choose to say: ich ging/spielte over ich habe gegangen/gespielt ??
On a side not,if praterium is a few words shorter,why not use it all the time to save oneself the hassle?
Colloquial german uses perfekt a lot while speaking, with execptions like sein haben..written german (news for example) uses Präteritum.. By the way.. Ich habe gegangen is wrong.. the verb gehen uses sein to build the perfekt tense, i.e: Ich bin gegangen

Weil es ist lauf-en, lief, ge-lauf-en.
Oder ist das ein starkes Verb?
Das hört sich alles so an wie wen ich versuche englisch zu sprechen und es nicht hinkriege und dan so ein gemischtes Englisch Deutsch heraus kommt (Denglisch).
Anja, or someone else maybe, could you help me find a movie that I saw on youtube a while back. I'm pretty sure it was a German movie or t.v. movie. Anyway it was about a policewoman that was traumatized by an accident at the start of the movie where she is driving and her husband or boyfriend is riding with her and is killed. She is hired by a police force months later, and has to undergo an initial psyche evaluation by the psychologist. She ends up being partnered with her (female) psychologist's husband, and is assigned with him to track down a drug cartel or something. She ends up having an affair with both her psychologist and her partner, and in the end something happens to the partner. Could someone please tell me the name of this movie or t.v. movie, the actress in it was very good at her part and so were the other players. I'd like to see it again.

i assume all are weak verbs, then i don't have to think about it. Just follow the rules: spielte, gespielt, usw. When i then say: bringte or gebringen I am told no, it is wrong. then i know, ok, it does not follow those rules (it's a strong verb), and i learn WTH is the conjugation. I do this because i once heard my nephew say in English: taked. I immediately corrrected him: took. He look bemused, and i just said "Yeah, I know. That word is a strange one." But i guess he learned it. So, I do it the same way for myself in German

She already has. A Saxon one. But my bf, who lived in Dresden the first 9 yrs of his life, doesn't say most of those phrases. Unless I'm wrong and he does but I only remember him using 2 of them. His voice sounds like that but he also sounds like they do in Dusseldorf. That's where else he lived.

Anja: Ich sollte dein Englisch nicht korrigieren, weil es so gut ist, aber ich muss. Du sagst oft auf Englisch: "Let me explain you". Mit der richtigen englischen Grammatik würde man sagen: "Let me explain it to you oder let me explain." Ich hoffe du verzeihst mir die Korrektur?
