EPIK Voice Acting: Only In Death Does Duty End

- Hail, Epikus Warriors! Here is another voice acting demo! This time, it is of a fan-written exchange between the soul of the Emperor of Mankind and Roboute Guilliman after the latter was resurrected. I quite like this version better than the one that is found in the official books!
In this scene, Guilliman is speaking with the Emperor, who reveals his true nature and intent to Guilliman - that the Primarchs were tools, and his (Emperor's) guidance was to eventually allow humanity to take off on their own...which he failed to accomplish.
I do hope all who hear this interpretation enjoy it!
If you DID, indeed, enjoy this, then please like, comment your reaction below, and subscribe for more videos, and as always:
STAY EPIK!

I think Big E knew how to motivate G-man in the best way possible, being kind would not have snapped him out of his ultradepression but pissing him off and reminding him of the ultimate truth? Oh yeah that would get the avenging son moving again.
It's 9 months late, but I have to wonder if "ultradepression" was a play on words. 🤔 Very clever, if so. 😁
@@EPÏKUS.MUSÏC Yes but I can't take credit for it "If the emperor had a text to speech device" made that joke in the Marneus Calgar episode.
The 6 word phrase that ensured humanity's continued existence "only in death does duty end"
"Across Millennia and through billions of mouths he spoke, 'Only in death does duty end'".
I hope you continue to make 40k voice acting, your Sanguinius, Grimaldus and Emperor / Guilliman speeches are fantastic
hearing from the emporer "only in death does duty end" is both increadible motivating but also devastating. to think he suffers even more than all the humans do is unbearable
The Lion won't be as kind when he speaks to the Emperor.
Lmmfao big E shattered would shit on him like nothing. His sons fucked up not him if the web way could have been completed humanity would have extinguished the warp gods
he can be blaimed too "lmfao". HE created them, HE didnt tell them about the dark gods, HE abonded the crusade and didnt explain why. HE....EVEN HE is in the end also..just human who makes errors. @@jknoclue607
Guilliman came ready to rumble and demand answers, he wasnt prepared for what he faced.
@@jknoclue607Jeeza Louisiana, Big E might have a hard time with all the different fan boys riding his dick like you do
I'm going to ask him a few questions. Dwarfs are immune to whatever mind tricks he does.
I would say this.
1. You need to put together a voice acting team to do more of this.
2. I think Big E understands his position and you get a tinge of a feeling he is on brink of Godhood. Maybe after so long on Golden Throne he understood the need of faith.
😮 This explains alot of why guilimen is depressed not only does he see his dad decayed and he's cruel and cold but he's told him the best of them are all dead ooohh damn but again further he's more or less done caring for humans I can think of a few primarch who might consider not killing him but slap him around a bit lol
"Only in death, does duty end"
To hear that phrase from the war cries, shouts of victory, the zealous, the scared, the dying, for ten thousand years? Knowing the Emperor never wanted this but being forced to weather it seconds, for hours, days, years, so on and so on for that long until he's practically been forced to act on it? Talk about being crushed by one's destiny, he got what he wanted but for the sake of a unified imperium? The man's broken, yet the shards are being used to maintain his dream from shattering entirely. Irony made strength
Its quite an interesting philosophical piece of conversation really. Whether the Big E intended on motivating the G man or not, both sides have their own point of view, and its both correct in my opinion.
I like the line, "When my body lay shattered amongst the best of you". I feel like that would have been the ultimate acknowledgement of Horus and Sanguinius by Big E.
I personally think the Emperor being kinda schizo is a good way to present him but, that line should really have been in there.
Gloriously acted and performed, as always! ❤
One day I love the emperor then the next I hate him lol. Dude got billions killed reuniting his sons and the galaxy then really f’d a couple of his sons over but then saved everyone from chaos and is talking about not intervening and letting humanity choose their fates alone
Only In Death Does Duty End!
Absolutely amazing! The *tone* gives an entirely different feel than just the way the written text comes off. Lends further meaning behind every word to hear how it is said.
I was tearing up. And felt the deepest chills.
I wasn't expecting that last line to be so deep.
A bitter man who now knows his own hubris has set the galaxy aflame...
Fantastic voice work on this one!
I love this speech because the emperor finally realizes he was a really arrogant piece of shit and him being on the Golden throne is him trying to atone for how he so badly mishandled, Horus and logar.
When he echoes "only in death does due to the end" he no longer views himself as some Superior godlike being, he views himself as a human finally
The last 15 seconds....omg...chills
It took me a second listening to figure out that Guilliman is talking with the Emperor. Amazing work. Thank you I felt it.
Gulliman truly is the one and only TOP G
This really is great voice acting. Hope you do more !

If that is not possible, keep doing what you are doing, these are..... powerful.
@Lueti09, notice meeeee! 🤣
Keep doing more of these. SANGUINIS MAN. MOREEEEEE
MOAR VOICES!
Seriously, I didn't think this particular set of skills would blow up like this! I'm primarily a musician (composer and opera singer, as well as metal screamer), though have always enjoyed acting/voice acting, too!
Thanks for the support, more to come (and not limited to Warhammer 40,000, either)!

MOAR SANGUINIUS! CHECK MY LATEST VIDEO!
Nuevamente lo hiciste, lo hiciste en grande
As much as Big E made the hole he currently sits in and technically deserves it... Given this speech, you get the feeling that he understands just how much he has fucked up and is now resigned to suffer his fate and what he considers his punishment until the very moment he dies.
...As much as I think the Emperor is a major asshole... after that speech I can't help but feel at little sorry for him. He's also technically correct about the Primarchs in my opinion. Their own petty desires added onto the Emperor's own failures only made things worse.
Guilleman though needs reality to slap him a few more times. He's been giving me the feeling of Emperor 2.0, but oh so much worse in the decision-making.
That is a pretty great take, if you ask me. It'll be interesting indeed to see where this all goes.
Whoever does this stuff, including that pants shittingly amazing Sanguinius speech better end up in an Amber King video soon.
It'd be so cool!
I love this. Incredible work!
Amazing job, I do think the emperor sounds dark. Too dark. I Think the Emperor would have a voice more like V from V for Vedetta. Calm yet forgiven.
I can see V (Hugo Weaving), certainly.
I think the tone he chose to use actually works well for how the Big E is in the current setting. All humanity gone, the empire in ruin, unimaginable pain nonstop for 10,000 years. If we could see the two of them talking to each other (and if the Emperor still had a face), I’d imagine the Emperor almost looking through Guilliman with a thousand yard stare. The Emperor is just a shell and machine of great power keeping the darkness at bay
You also have to remembers this is big E inside Gullimans head since the emperors body is probably incapable of speech
Very nice! Good work on setting the tone with both
Awesome. That last part gave me goosebumps.
I do not think this is how the emperor would’ve reacted to Guiliman or else he wouldn’t have rifted space to aid him he would’ve let the empire fall knowing it was no longer his will
I think he believes in Guiliman
i think hes going through the motions of fighting a losing war. big G has the ball now
Hope you keep doing these
I love how spite filled the emperor voice is when he finally tells gilliman the truth that he never saw them as sons he had one job for them he gave them god hood to do it and they failed. Even more so when he reveals the price to save gilliman
Good job
While a fun exchange, the writing definitely reveals the author's bias.
Sure, there was a lot of history between Guilliman's departure from the narrative and his return, but The Emperor wasn't directing The Empirium during that time.
If anything, the exchange would have likely began in pleading for guidance, to a much greater desperate extent. The Emperor was the grand architect. He had all the answers. He had the divine plan. And now, at long last, amid all the madness of the Empirium's current workings, the goodest living boy of the primarchs reaches him, and the conversation flows more like him realizing he was an adopted child? Just doesn't fit.
The Emperor also wouldn't have uttered nonsense about sins. He was supposedly around since before judeo-christian religions were even a thing. He wouldn't to default to such thinking- even in that state, his mind would have, if anything, likely dwelled on "the humans" coming up with the different religions and maybe reflecting on it.
I do like some aspects of this, like how the primarchs were implied to be gifts to humanity- in that it would have at least made them a lasting part of the Empirium, rather than just a version 2 of the Thunder Warriors in his eyes.
When finally given the chance to speak to one who could act as his avatar of sorts, The Emperor would much more likely be making decrees to destroy the imperial faith, how to resurrect him, or so on- ways to reestablish control in some way, now that he could actually act upon the world again.
That said, some interesting bits, and excellent delivery.
I agree
I think the text to speech version is a lot more accurate.
Imagine just chillin in your house one second then the next your with The Emperor and he’s just like “had to keep G man in the game you know how it is”😂
As the Emperor wills 🫡
