Love your videos, they are incredibly detailed and always easy to follow. You do incredible work and all the vehicles you lay your hands on come out simply stunning. Great work.
amazing work as always!
just the video i needed too, i have a grill on my car that is similar (sort of horizontal slats/vents) so this video is a big help. :)
Amazing your videos, there is plenty of guys here on youtube explaining how to but the way you do is perfect and even small details you try to explain thumb up
these throw back videos still badass
Liked! Loving the videos man!
Thank you for this video lots of help you did phenomenal job!
Great video. I saw the wrapping of the Jeep JK a video on a grill like that would awesome and super helpful not very few out there
Nice wrapping CK and you have a beautyful dog
A little hint concerning dipped parts: After a lot of research and testing chemicals, rubbers and a lot of peeling techniques, we found out that a preassure washer works pretty good and fast. It might depend on the surface below the dip - but painted and unpainted parts worked very well in the past.
Great detail
Excited to try myself
Patience looks like a big key
Damn bro. Your good. I just did my own bumper wrap. Took me like 5 hours.
Hi frm KS thanks for videos helps me learn.!🤓👍
Excellent work ✌🏼
Amazing tutorial. Thank you so much for posting great content like this. I'm from Edmonton and I was wondering where you get your supplies from?
can you do a wrap on a ribbed roof. i want to do my 2014 ford explore
Great tutorial
how would you recommend wrapping the spoiler on a 2014 focus ST?
Video showed outside grill covering but what about wrapping the inside grill fins? One long piece across or done in half, cut around the small posts?
which is better, painting the grille piano black or just use vinyl? thanks..
What would you charge for doing that grille
Hey @ckwraps, I'm looking to do my front grill on my 2012 camry in satin black. It's my first time, what film do you recommend I get? I also want it to last a long time... thanks :)
Hey CK, I am looking for a roll of 60x75 in satin or matte nardo grey for my F150. Any suggestions?
Cool to see someone wrap with exactly the same style. As seen in your other vids, you only focus on the work you are doing and not to much on where you are going to lay down the backing paper folded up in even squares. Or walking around with a storage container for used blades. I don`t believe people in video`s who are doing everything by the book, because it takes away your focus on what you are doing.
The uploads you do are legit, really like that.
For loose items to wrap on tables I might have a little tip for you. Make your piece of vinyl to work with slightly bigger (longer) lay it upside down on the table and take off the backing paper on the short side for about 3 inches. Than fold the removed backing paper down in a straight line. You now have a exposed strip of vinyl and the rest has still the backing paper on.
Stick the exposed vinyl on the table tension free. Lift up the vinyl and place you item underneath.
Hold the vinyl in a angle towards you above to item and remove the backing by grabbing the folded paper and pull.
Glass the vinyl over the item (pre-heat slightly when needed), keep the strip on the table as long as possible, this way it doesn`t move that much while working on it.
I am sure you know what I mean, but wrote it more detailed so your viewers get a better idea.
Keep it up, regards from The Netherlands
Working with Avery and Hexis and as less as possible with 3M ;)
+prestovr6 thanks for the comment and explaining that technique. I didn't use that technique because the vinyl won't stick to the table I have. The surface is too porous but on a smooth table your technique does work great
prestovr6 hoi, slim bekeken. Ik zou eerder denken aan een rubber mat ofzo. haha. Waar ergens in Nederland ben jij? Ik neem aan dat je een professionele wrapper bent? Misschien een website? Groetjes uit België.
Hey CK Wrap! You should do a video wrapping an RC PLane!!
Could you have done this with the grill still on the car?
was there no OEM or aftermarket grill to be bought? Curious on the rationale. Thanks! Awesome work.
If I put a 12 inch border along my truck will it stick or peel because it has no edges?
I am trying to wrap the chrome on a 99 f350 grill. I thought it would be easy. It's schooling me. Lol luckily it seems to be sthe Vivid brand.
So should I be wrapping the center chrom bars first? Then stretching outwards?
So exactly how long will vivid wrap last before replacing?
RE avery backing/liner . I do wonder if its a geography thing. Here in the states the sw900 has the logo printed on the back in a random offset pattern
I’m dead 3M grabs like all hell 😂😂🤝
Random dog passing by like it’s nothing priceless 👍... by the way can you somehow wrap a challenger 2015 and up grill and gas cap I really need to see how it’s done to do mine
Do you put any primer 94 anywhere?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can you show how you did the inlays?
If you were to overstretch the vinyl, which would cause lifting in the future, can you just post heat the overstretched part to a certain 90' and the vinyl will then never pull back/lift?
+Moh technically yes, but I wouldn't risk it. One of the points of post heating is to kill the memory. If you kill the memory then the film should never lift
Got to have that 70% IPA!
How is it going @ckwraps I am having a bit of trouble understanding the proper technique for cutting. are you suppose to cut flush with the edge of the panel? For example fender to door gap. Do you place your blade in the middle and just cut straight? Do you run the side of the blade against the side of the panel youre wrapping? I seam to get the vinyl just flush and I do not know if this is correct. Could you make a detailed video on cutting please. Placement of blade edges to follow corners. Thanks in advance!
It depends on if you are completing both the fender and door at the same time. if youre doing just the fender, then you would cut against the door edge and roll extra around the fender. vice versa for the door. if youre doing them at the same time with the same sheet then judge what would show and what would be catching air as the vehicle is moving and make a decision based on that. If you want to split it, just use your finger as a guide and run your cut directly in the middle so you can fold around both edges. cleanest way to do it when you are covering both at the same time. Good Luck!
The dog walked by like he was the manager going to check on another project....real nonchalant.
Good...
What wrap is on the red car in the back
I was just wondering if you have ever attempted to wrap a honeycomb grille.
great job again and again ! I think you should say "approximate" warranty time of this pieces like grill, bumper, hood etc.. I hope to see your new video.
any chance you could give tips on wrapping an Infiniti Q50 grille?
I actually have blk carbon fiber wrap on the way for my G37. That's what brought me here. The car is dark gray and all chrome is going to blk carbon fiber, including the letters/numbers on the back. Looking like the grille is going to be the biggest challenge..........can't wait.
How'd it go? I'm watching this in preparation of wrapping my 2013 G37 grill and it looks pretty intimidating. I can't find any G37 specific tutorials so I'm wondering how your experience was using this video as a guide?
Like to see a w211 grill be wrapped on slats only. I want to keep the original crome look but repair the flaking paint on the slats. It looks terrible to have missing paint in the grill while the rest of the car is so beautiful.
thinking about doing yellow headlight film wraps...Do you have any particular brands of film andor tips. 08 dodge charger
I did my headlights with their film it was same concept as wrap ..did my headlights and taillights and fogs and rear reflectors in a single sitting and new to wrap and they came out great I used smoke black .my car isn't as big but the headlights and taillights are no big..17 ' veloster.
@@naptownsfinest2345 amazon has it comes in standard one foot or 1.5 foot by 48 each roll cost like 12 bucks I bought 4 did my car I just uploaded a video with tint on all the lights
Correct me if I'm wrong. You may be using the term "pre-stretch" incorrectly.
Isn't that when you stretch it before laying is down. Then you lay it down, contour it around and shrink it to the shape?
+Jorgeicr8 you can pre stretch in different ways. One way is to pre stretch the remaining material which currently has no stretch to it around a corner or bend. This is how we get really nice corners that look painted. When I pre stretched the film around the corner of this grill it will have the same effect once I add heat to it afterwards
Shouldve used the avantgarde grill because i have that one
DOn't think I have the coordination or patience to do this myself. How much should I expect to pay a professional on a similar grill?
One thing I learned and my opinion. Wrapping is the way to go over plastidip. I would rather spend the time installing right the best I can and be able to rip it off easily and quickly when I want to remove it. Plastidip is a fast to apply but a pain in the ass to remove. I don’t care how thick you spray it on, it’s always a pain in the ass. And the look of wrap looks way more professional.
Exactly why I don't like to use avery because it dont stick properly.
In Polish it is "tubular foil". This foil is easier to lay down. Useful channel for wrappers or wr @ pster. Great cars, not always big, but a clean job. @§. Po polsku to jest "folia kanalikowa". Folia ta łatwiej się kładzie . Przydatny kanał dla wraperów czy wr@psterów. Super auta, nie zawsze sztos, ale za to czysta robota.
edit:
Such a grill is a heavy art, in 2022 - how much does it cost in good quality?
Taki grill to ciężka sztuka, w roku 2022 - ile to kosztuje w dobrej jakości?
Can you dm me what to charge for something like this please
Dave Dominguez a professional shop asked 200 euro for a similair mercedes grill (c class)
why do people get wraps I don't get it...I mean it looks nice but how does that work long term and washing it and shit like do you have to wax the car at all? someone explain. :)
Quel nom du film svp
When ordering from vivid. say a 3ft x 4ft roll. Is it width x height. Or height x width?????? Thank you
But you can turn the vinyl around. The widest (or tallest depending on the orientation of the vinyl sheet) sheet of vinyl vvivid sells is 5ft. So if your object is more than 5 ft tall and wide then you'll need to make a seam. otherwise simply turn the vinyl around
it should be 3 foot wide 4 feet long but that's a weird size i just ordered a 2x5 vvivid. it was 2 feet wide 5 feet long.
Isn't gloss black vinyl scratched easily? Isn't putting gloss black on a grille is asking for scratches basically
Ryan Chau durability obviously isn't the goal here. 100% for looks. if it gets scratched, he will pay a small price to have it redone.
not bad I don't know if it was hard though or you could just make it look hard
lmao chirps plasti dip I gave up on the shit too man only stuff it's good for is emblems.
Problem with Avery is their gloss black isn't black black, it has a brownish undertone. You can already see that brownish hue from the video when held up to the camera under indoor lighting, when you're outside under the sun, it is extremely obvious.
Looks like a PITA
Pass the vape
Things I learnt from this video: Pay a professional to do it
Ads have made UA-cam so crappy smh
Stg i went to a wrap shop and they said “we were thinking about plastidipping...” i was like uhh yeah no
looks like orange peel to me
Bloody Chinese job is that, good job tho but I think I would go for spray
Im so glad you dont have that haircut anymore lol xD
FINALLY... searched forever for a way to wrap a grill... this is very similar to a G37/G25 grill with the slats going across... THANK YOU
