Quick question, when measuring the area for the triangle why did you not go right to the top/peak of the triangle ?

hi rob. you are really good in explaining. are you able to make a video on roof calculations of hip and gable joined together at different pitch. for example gable roof at 20 degree with length and width, hip roof at 45 degree with length and width dimensions but needs to find ridge length as well. thanks

do you know how to find boards needed for a gable. I have a question on my contractors practice test. "How many boards would be needed to fill a gabel with a 20 foot span and an 8 foot rise using boards 8 feet long and 3 inches wide?" Please help.

    Thanks 👍
So could one calculate a cable end for example the spam is 25 feet and the height of the gable is 12 feet. So 25x12=300 square footage. Then would I divide that by 2? So 2÷300=150. Here In the US 8 bricks per sqft includes allowed waste. So would I multiply 150x8=1200 bricks. Would this be correct?

      Yes, that sounds correct

@@robsonger1 Thanks for the reply, and much respect for your work.
Wait - I am still confused, my above example must be wrong, because you only divided 'one' (the height) of the gables measurement by (2)

Winner of a video, I have been researching "how to install a gable porch roof" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Beybigail Nonpareil Breakthrough - (should be on google have a look ) ? It is a smashing exclusive guide for discovering how to create better sheds and improve your woodworking without the hard work. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 got great results with it.

Can you not just do height * length then divide by 2 ?? So in your example
    8 (length) * 3 (height) = 24 / 2 =12 sq/m??
