Hi Graham - yes it’s a bit late for hardwood cuttings but you can always try it and leave them somewhere sheltered like behind your garden shed, give them a good water and see how they come on 🙂 Good to hear from you and thank you for watching all the best 🌸
Great video thank you. I'm new to hydrangeas especially panicle hydrangeas. I've bought one called forever and ever pink and white. On the website it said it grows to 1.5 meters. On the tag it says 70cm. It's definitely already past 70 cm. I'm really not sure it's going to be too big for my space in the future after seeing yours . Can I keep it smaller? I bought this variety as its quite a hot border especially in the afternoon, but now I'm Wondering if I've made a mistake and wondering if the plant will manage OK in that position
Hello Davena - thank you for watching our video and for your comment and question: Hydrangea paniculata is by nature a vigourous and spreading plant as you are experiencing and no matter how hard you cut them back they will respond with robust growth: a Hydrangea macrophylla would probably be more suited to your border and herewith the link to our video about our Hydrangea macrophylla which we were given and which John keeps to size in our front garden ua-cam.com/video/dLkIPTattiY/v-deo.html We hope this is of help and in the meantime have a great week All the best Melanie 🌸
@@davenadainton4209 Hi Davena yes there is Hydrangea macrophylla “Veitchii” and also “Europa” both of which can be positioned in full sun and are hardy to around -15C It sounds a lovely border Melanie 🌸

@@JohnHorseyHorticulture thanks so much Melanie. Is there a particular one that can tolerate heat? It gets very hot in the summer
