- This clip was taken during RENT on Broadway August 11, 2007 at the Nederlander Theater in NYC. Original cast members Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp starred along with Tamyra Gray. This is one of my favorites "Another Day/No Day But Today". Enjoy!
When I saw the show, Tamyra's mic went out during "Out Tonight," so she had to sing without any microphone and we could still hear her perfectly.
She really has an amazingly strong voice.
Adamn Pascal is the one and ONLY Roger Davis! That role belongs to nobody else but him! He rocks
I've seen RENT twice within the last month. Tamyra, Anthony and Adam were all awesome. The whole cast was terrific.
Wow. I have never had the pleasure of seeing this on broadway, but have seen the movie countless time, and I can't imagine anyone else playing Roger, but this girl blew Rosario out of the water in my opinion. Loved the way she stressed the "give in to love or live in fear" line. Favourite line out of the movie, by far. I hope one day I get to see this performed live.
Oh man!!! This is a dream for me! To see them together live! Her voice gives me goose bumps...PLUS singing with Adam! FANTASTIC!!!

They were so great together. The night we went (August 29th) Tamyra had to leave and Dana Dawson did the second act. She was good too, but I really wanted to hear Tamyra's Goodbye Love live. Oh well, I never thought I would get to see Adam and Anthony do it live, so that was pretty amazing.
I knew Tamyra had the voice for this part and just proved me right! I only wish I could have seen them before I left NYC. And Adam? Always amazing and after 11 years?! Still magical.
She doesn't look like a traditional Mimi because she doesn't have the crazy hair, but she 100% held her own up there with Adam & Anthony, and acted the part most convincingly of all the Mimi's I've seen. Great chemistry!

I attended the RENT performance at Michigan State University last spring, and I must say that I am very jealous that Tamyra was touring with RENT somewhere else. She has an amazing voice. Don't get me wrong, the cast that I saw was amazing and there was lots of chemistry between the actors. Goosebumps covered my body for most of the show. I would most definitely see it again!

I just saw RENT on May 6 with Tamyra, and it was incredible. She's really really grown and made the role her own, the dancing was incredible, her voice sounds better than ever. It's SO sad that RENT is going off Broadway, I wish I had the chance to see it again!! If you haven't seen it live yet, it's an absolute must!! Love RENT! : ) Thanks for the video.

I am so happy this vid got posted. Adam still sounds as incredible as he did on the OBCR. (I went on a different night and remember him sounding even BETTER than he does in this boot). I'm really happy that Tamyra is Mimi now instead of some of the others I've seen before. Of course she's not Daphne, but she does the character justice & did a great job. I hope more boots get posted before they leave!

Like someone said in a previous post, Tamyra Gray has an amazing voice but I also don't feel the warmth and heart as Daphne and some of the other Mimis I have heard sing. And let's face it, when you hear the original cast bring it like they did during their 10th anniversary, nothing compares. But I will definitely be there before Anthony and Adam leave the show perhaps for good on Sept. 9. Thanks guys for coming back one more time.

Boy I can't stand those who can't appreciate the essence of what makes RENT so great. Did you know Anthony Rapp along with Daphne Ruben Vega were the two original originals of Jonathan Larson's creation and vision. If anything, Rapp is the person who was and still is the glue when it comes to RENT. The person who mentions how mature Anthony has gotten, she gets it.
I saw this cast; I really didn't know Tamyra beforehand, but she was really great in this part.
As a bit of an older RENThead (meaning not in my teens or early 20's) I really appreciate all of the originals who started this phenomenon known as RENT, and that means I believe Daphne-Ruben Vega was definitely the best Mimi.

I think Adam has matured so much in his voice since 1996. He can sound smooth or rocker-harsh whenever he wants now and I think his range definitely has been stretched. He can now do a lot of high notes without vibrato, and he's getting so unbelievably good at the (maybe starting rocker-rough like in glory, and then) pure, straight-tone going into a vibrato/ riff at the end whenever he holds a long high note.
Also think movie didn't bring out the power in his voice :(
omg i went to go see it for my 16th b-day but that day NO ONE came out to sign stuff!! i was so angry! we sat around forever waiting!

Worship him now babe.. He is like fine wine.. Just keeps getting better. Upload the 10th anniversary show from Google. I have listened to the original recording and compared it to how he is recent and now. No comparison. Also check out his duet with Adam from the Today show when they sing "Living in America." I don't say that people can't feel the way they do, but if you worshipped him then, it really is curious what it is you don't like now. Strange indeed!

Tamayra is an American Idol alum. She battled nearly to the end with Justin and Kelly. Many people wanted her to win. It's a case of American Idol "losers" doing well. (Where's Justin?)BTW, She and Kelly are still good friends. Kelly came to see her opening night. And yes...she surprised a bunch of people with how well she did RENT. I saw her on 10/6 -- wow!
I will always love Dawson most, but wow Tamyra can sing!
Although I'm sure thats true, theres only 2 actresses as Mimi that I have ever heard before this and that is Rosario and whoever is on the Original Soundtrack, and I cannot stand the woman on the original soundtracks voice, so Rosario was my favourite. But now Tamyra Gray is my favourite Mimi from what ive seen.

the guy playing roger was in the movie school of rock he was in the band that jack black got kiki out of
