Shannon, what a lovely video of an extraordinary chateau - it makes me wonder why it isn’t widely known and popular in the tourist world? That’s great, tho, so that your members might have a chance to see it before it is too crowded! I can’t even imagine the technology of the headset, but what a great update to what I am used to. Thank you for bringing this tour and information to us. I will definitely visit there the on my next visit to Paris. ❤
Shannon, this has been on our list for a year or two, but after watching your video tour we're making this a top priority! I've watched a couple of other rather clinical videos about the Hôtel de la Marine, and I never made it to the end of the video. Your video is captivating! Thanks for sharing this - I see hours of labor behind this tight little informative video! After watching this, I'm definitely going to say "hi" and "thanks" if I see you walking the dogs in the ISL again during our next visit!!
What a kind and generous gift 💝 your message is, Carl. Thank you SO much for your feedback and support. I hope you enjoy Hotel de la Marine as much as I do. As well as the rest of this series!
I had no idea that something like that exist in Paris. Thank you thank you thank you so much to show this increíble palacete. I could live in that bathroom for ever!!😂
The details and quality of the work are second to none! An incredible experience and the shop has some wonderful books and things to buy that I haven't seen in other museums.
Thank you for this! I’ve only been to Paris once, in 2022, and I fell hopelessly/desperately in love! It is my goal within the next five years to live in Paris even if it’s just for a few months. I will definitely add this to my list! I understand completely about being brought to tears by beauty, I came back from Paris saying I cried my way through Europe lol❤❤❤❤
I love this comment, Wendy. I’m so glad you’re here! And yes, until I moved here, it was absolutely gut wrenching every time I returned home. I completely understand!
What a beautiful video of this stunning treasure! Thank you for your lovely comments. My sister and her husband will be in Paris for the first time next month. They’ll be staying just across from The Louvre so I’ll be sure to send this along. I’m sure they’ll love to see it!💗
Perhaps they’d be interested in my companion guide? It’d be a great gift! I share day itineraries, activities, restaurants and more for that immediate area. I’m sure it would be very helpful! It’s linked in the description. Thanks for watching, Susan. I’m so glad you’re here!
OOOH GOOD ONE! I'm moving to France in October and will be doing monthly trips to Paris for design inspo. I have never heard of this museum. Merci beaucoup, beaucoup!
I was in Paris a week ago and I didn't even know about this amazing place! I absolutely love visiting Versailles and now I have another amazing Chateau to visit!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!💖💖😍😍🎉
Happened upon your channel while purchasing the book of the Hotel de la Marine and AM enchanted! The entire video is wonderful and you are so good that it is almost palpable. I cannot wait to come back to Paris for this experience! Thank you so much. Liked and subscribed. ❤
What a gift this message is. 🥹 I truly appreciate your support, your kind words of encouragement, and for taking the time to share such caring feedback. Thank you! I hope you enjoy HDM as much as I clearly did 😅 and that you like the rest of the episodes in this series. Welcome to our TFL community! 🥰🥰
Love this! I am always on the lookout for incredible things to see without all the other tourists surround. This looks simply divine. Thank you for such a thorough and wonderful guide!
I will take the time to see it when I am in Paris. Not only does it look gorgeous, but I also love the tour technology, "Le Confident, "they are using, and I can't wait to smell the aromatic rooms and see those lovely wallpapers I am spying. I'm sure the kids would love those cozy dogbeds rooms.
I visited in 2022. Surprised you didn’t show the stunning crystal-effect mirrored skylight by architect Hugh Dutton over the whole centre courtyard, which allows the courtyard to be used as a reception hall. It’s dazzling and uses innovative glass technology and mirror. The French are very good at combining the modern with the old, albeit in this case it’s English design and engineering.
During the French Revolution in the 18 th century the guillotine was erected in front of this 'Hotel' and that is where the nobels including Louis XVI were murdered !
You don't explain that this building was built to be the "Garde meuble" of the Royalty , an official place to keep, save, and a sort of wherahouse of the furniture of all the palaces of the Royalty and this rooms ( bedrooms, salon, bathrooms, etc...) used to be the appartment (flat) of the director (CEO) of this administration. It was transformed later and after the revolution into the Minister of the Marine, (Navy ministery).

You’re absolutely correct!

You are incorrect. I mention the garde meuble twice - at minutes at 3:19 and 6:43. But thanks for watching.
