@@FromRussia_With_Love The only thing “WORST” about it, was that it wasn’t like a playoff game. But the best thing about it, was that it expressed the love of baseball, on a field that was used in a movie, that told a big tale about baseball and dreams coming true within.
If every MLB team could experience this field of dreams, that's the closest to heaven I believe we could all be, I loved this, and will never forget it,and we all owe both teams a huge Standing Ovation
As a Yankees fan, this was such an iconic game worth the rewatch. The romance surrounding the place, people, and former baseball as well as a new era. Stunning.
This game might get me back into baseball. I'm not really a sports fan but watching this game in the field of dreams, it gave me a real sense of love for the game again. The opening segment gave me chills. Loved how they came outta the corn.
My god. Even the on screen graphics are gorgeous. This was baseball perfection. For all the history Wrigley Field and Fenway Park ACTUALLY have, somehow you get that same feel with this. There's history here.
Im slightly biased as a White Sox fan, but this was really special. Regardless of the teàms on the field, this was needed to honor the American past time during a time when politics and an annoying disease seem to dominate the headlines.
This was the best game I have ever seen and I’m From St. Louis Missouri and I love my Cardinals. A million thank you to everyone that had anything to do with this production. It was perfect 👍 🥰
Having been there myself to take part in the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the film back in 2014, I'm so glad that an MLB game was played there. Sends chills down my spine looking at the box score: Yankees vs. White Sox with a location of Dyersville, IA
Wow! What an ending! I never expected that. Loved the drone flying around taking in everything-the playing fields, the inside of the house, the crowd, etc. Loved the players coming in out of the corn at the beginning, even though it was only a few feet of corn rows. LOL Lots of offense (home runs anyway). It was a fun game, even though I'm not a fan of either team, but the ambience of the whole event made it very special. It was just cool.
I know I'm a baby...but this game!!! Tears from the start because of the history of the movie! What a game and thank you @mlb for this heaven. Because yes, this is heaven!
I remember watching the movie as a kid with my grandfather who grew up in Chicago… he was a huge white Sox fan… to see this game played on the field of dreams brings tears to my eyes… I miss my grandpa so much..
There are 6 nearby teams in Minneapolis 251 miles, Milwaukee 194 miles, Chicago C 200 / WS 207 miles, St. Louis 350 miles, Kansas City 372 miles. Each team could hold one home game here, one a week in June and July before the All Star Game. That gives you 6 teams every year, and rotate the 24 visiting teams over 4 years.
1:30:20 Great shot that captures the magic of this game. Sox fan here, but I loved the Yankees' spirit. As far as I'm concerned, there were no losers here tonight.
Los Angeles is my hometown, and I would love to see the dodgers play here in Vin scully's honor. I agree with the commenter that says that each team should have a chance to play at this magical place. When I saw this event, I immediately added dyersville Iowa to my bucket list
Amazing to see a new pitch in the Field of Dreams...what an amazing venue.......great to see there are fields in view of the stadium for people to enjoy.....hope to see many more games played there........
Or the setting of The Natural. Everybody could wear a lightning bolt patch on their uniform, maybe even set up pyrotechnics to shoot sparks out of the lights when someone hits a homerun.
Please. Take your kid to a baseball game. Then take them again. The sights, the sounds, the smells, the tastes...the feel instills a connection, that bond the never breaks.
I'm russian, and I don't understand much about baseball. But I had to watch this game to the end, and not take my eyes off the screen in the last minutes. I'm starting to understand why Americans are so obsessed with baseball...
Enjoy, brother. True baseball is now myth. Myth, and legend.. This is the last great real baseball game. If you are interested in more nonsensical unexplainable MAGIC watch 1988 World Series game 1. The Dodgers had NO business being in the world series. The 1988 A's were basically giant Ubermensch genetically engineered perfection, and the Dodgers were bullshit scrappy underdog WILL personified. The whole game defies logic, and sense as baseball is wont to do. But the bottom of the 9th is just nonsense. "Absolute madness!" (look that one up, too. Dodgers 2017). There is no reason to believe it really happened that way, other than I saw it live. It makes more sense that the whole thing is fabricated nonsense. You might still not get it, but these tidbits might help you start. Love, bro.
As a White Sox fan, it was a terrible game based off of a cash grab and marketed to a nonexistent audience. Who the fuck remembers a thirty year old Kevin Costner film that wasn't good when it came out?
Not sure I should post this, no idea how it will be viewed but only one thing could have made this better for me - at one of these I think Shoeless Joe Jackson should be reinstated. It’s not about a scandal 100 years ago - it’s about a love of baseball. Then, and now. The man is globally romanticized for his love of the game, by so many of those who love it today. I thinks it’s time & there could be no better place.
2022 for sure. I'm originally from Iowa and a die-hard Cubs fan. Many would like to see the Cubs play there, myself included. But..... I think this should be "home field" for the White Sox every year for one game as the White Sox were the primary teams portrayed in the movie that brought all of this to life.
@@mitch3043 I agree. It 100% should be considered a White Sox home game. And it should be one game per year, FOR-EV-URRR (they should do The Sandlot too) lol.

I'm ashamed that the White Sox were greedy enough to participate in this hollow embarrassment of a cash grab.
I think only teams from the year (1919) the players came out of the field in the movie could play.
Well the next Game will be on the 11th of August and it will be the Cincinnati Reds against the Chicago Cubs
