Old Gods of Asgard is the cover name for the real band: Poets of the Fall. Such an amazing band that I believe can do pretty much any genre and fit in really well. Ollie T (the guitarist) seems like such an amazing dude. He's one of my favorite guitarists. Marko (the lead singer) is my favorite vocalist. They both have ranges in their abilities that you wouldn't believe.
@@enenrax Yep. There's no "mute copyrighted music" option in game like CONTROL had. And I remember vaguely Remedy announcing on Twitter that the music was DMCA free. They did partner with the musicians in making the music to begin with though
The guitarist is name Ollie Tukainen he is classical guitarist which can shred really really well. Hear his single firefly and some acostic play in the Alexander theatre session.
Gotta love all the wackyness that the series can bring, the level where the musical was played had the righ amount of campy and cheesyness, can never have enought Poets of the Fall; specially Sam Lake just being there to add some extra layers of self awareness was the cherry on the cake. Keep the reactions comming, love them.
Some games/music to investigate: Ace Combat 7 Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Medal of Honor: Frontline Old Gods of Asgard: Dark Ocean Summoning (also from Alan Wake 2) Sabaton (not a video game but a Swedish military history metal band)
I think it will still be an amazing experience for him to discover it in game, as it’s one thing to view the video when the experience in the game is quite different (and even better imho).
Seems there would be much more Old Gods' stuff to discover. A few on this game as well as earlier ones. My suggestions would be 'Take Control' and Balance Slays the Demon. Children of the Eldergod was a fun little ditty as well, but definitely better in the context of the game.

It's the in-universe band name to be more exact that live in the town that Alan Wake series takes place in.
love how the confetti sends the bitrate straight to the dark place
14:10 "before i play two i need to watch a recap" you just did
Alan Wake 2 has good music in literally every chapter of the game. It's so good. And they made them DMCA free
LEGENDS
Crazy dmca free in this age so rare
Giga based
Real? They're awesome

Old Gods of Asgard should compete in Eurovision!! We love 80s rock!
They would win!🔥

I love the exchanges between Alan and Mr. Door.

There's a fun bit in the last section of the song where you can faintly hear the actors signing along with the main singer.
I really enjoyed your breakdown especially the way you describe the interrogation and link to the way Markko delivers the vocals. Brilliant
This is the greatest genre. Rock-opera metal jazz. 🎉
Going to see Poets of the fall in 2 days. Excited
Great song, and great analysis! I enjoyed Dark Ocean Summoning just as much. This game killed it with the music!

Best musical analysis of this video so far! Great work, thank you!

Agree, It's the best part because it breaks expectations
Ttheir song speaks to my soul. They know how to connect through their lyrics🤘
And that is just the 2nd best song from the game (subjectively of course)

Damn, it would've been better if your first time seeing this was in the game. Such a shock when it happens.
Angers remorse is an amazing song
Today (7.12.23) this song will be played live in the game awards event
There's a music performance in Cyberpunk 2077 phantom liberty, and all the music from lies of p are worth checking out, especially "Feel"
This song has some Bohemian Rhapsody in it with mixture of genres
If you are also checking out other games I can recommend the OST from „A Plague Tale: Requiem“
best part spoiled for you now :D ...
8:00 to me its like shifting gears.
roll on the 7th or 8th dec the game awards poets of the fall ie old asgards are doing the song lve
The harmonizing guitars reminded me of savatage wake of magellan
Эта игра самородок
I love the songs very much, but one thing, do you need to do the constant pausing? Can't you just listen and then do the reaction after and analysis?
Nooo the pausing. orz
The 5:40 especially!
Had perfect parts to pause at between the parts instead.
Bruh what even is the point of that whole "coming up" bit at the start of your video? Thats what the title and thumbnail are for.
It's for the TikTok generation who can't bear a wait without a preview.
Please let more of the song play before giving thoughts every 15 seconds
why are you voluntarily spoiling yourself? 😑
I watched another video, turns out alan wake is lip syncing.
Nope.Ilka Villi is. Matthew Poretta is singing. One is the face and body, the other the voice for Alan Wake.

Dude you talkin so much.
Dude!, so annoying that you pause every second!, react to the video then do a breakdown!
