I don't really even know what to say when I hear Sohyang sing. I've never heard her equal, ever. I have never even heard anyone _like_ Sohyang. I think when she was recovering from her cancer surgery at age 20 and decided with determination that she was going to dedicate her life to singing for the dispossessed and needy, that God took notice of that and was so pleased He added extra musical and singing ability to her. (That is my personal explanation because there is no one else who could have given her such ability.) Like where did this woman come from? We often joke that she is an alien from outer space somewhere. But her abilities are so far above anything we have ever heard, we enter into a mental vacuum and grope around with no reference points. It is as if we are blinded by her _absolute mastery_ of all the vocal skills a human is capable of--and way beyond that as well. Anyway, Sohyang is simply dumbfounding and that is all there is to it. 🤷♂💖💖💖
I don't see her as an alien from outer space, but I do see where you're coming from. Sometimes people say she's a female Dimash. I think that's a very big stretch. The weird thing with Dimash, the alien, is that he does everything he does flawlessly, and on top of that he does everything, period. So Hyang does everything she does flawlessly, but she doesn't sing every style, every genre, in the world. She has her style, but whatever she does do, no one else could do better - that I grant her. And that alone is incredibly amazing.

All of the performers in that troup are outstanding singers and musicians who toured Korea during the Pandemic. Sohyang's presence topped off a matchless ensemble.
