    4 month late EDIT: 31:35 - no, as it turns (ahem) out, Turn Undead has NO diminishing returns when cast on mobs, but it DOES have a small chance to break prematurely due to a heartbeat resist. In later undead-filled dungeons this can really mess you up, too.

    Extreme dedication, very impressive

    Yep, this is what I needed to see. Did this at level 24 - worked my way patiently, scalpel like through each enemy and boss, but could not defeat Arugal. I just happen to be on 29th level now (a paladin). Already did Ragefire :)

    Hey! I don't know if you're still checking the comments, but I guess I will test my luck.
    I have Retribution Paladin and it's incredibly tough to survive some points of the dungeons. Usually I have a lot of issues surviving and forced to use Divine when I can't pull 1 mob and forced to take 2 of them. Do you think it's important to have Prot Pal to be able to solo dungeons like you do, or maybe everything comes down to my gear?

      Heya! Assuming we're still discussing the vanilla Classic here, your most important tool to get the job done inside the low-to-mid-level dungeons is Spiritual Focus talent (the thing that eliminates pushback on heals) -- some encounters are outright impossible without it IMO.
      Crafted gear in vanilla is very decent compared to the early dungeon drops, and can be used to catapult you right to the good stuff, but your progression will start getting hard locked behind the gear only in the few latest dungeons (think Stratholme and such).
      Generally speaking, always try pulling dungeon elites one by one, or if there is no way past it (linked packs and such) have a clear kill order before engaging. Killing a caster in the pack and dying after that is a very much acceptable trade to progress.
      If we're talking WotLK, Rets are extremely lackluster there before the level 50 or so, and even then they will be getting outDPSed by the insane scaling of Protection well into 60s.
      Good luck on your journeys!

    Do you think soloing dungeons like this is possible with classes other than paladin? I imagine it could be done with everyone except rogues and warriors.

    • @MildlyDungeoneering

      It obviously will depend heavily on a dungeon in question, but as a rule of thumb, yes. And warriors, in my opinion, actually will not be THAT bad, they'll just need to find some way to increase their movement speed, bring a good amount of consumables, and know all routes, ramps, jumps and shortcuts to a T.
      Rogues will depend heavily on boss immunities present (or their lack thereof). For example, Arugal is immune to stuns and probably to most other forms of CC, so they'll have a rather hard time here. Those vagabonds in Stormwind Stockades, on the other hand, would prove more than a fair challenge for a fellow rogue.
      Speaking of SFK in particular, I personally think that the easiest class to tackle it before level 30 would be a druid, while hardest being a priest. There was also a hunter who's killed Arugal at level 11 not that long ago (and that one involves very precise timing on LoSing his casts, engineering and some luck).

    What is the mouseover info/tooltip addon called?

    • @MildlyDungeoneering
      @MildlyDungeoneering  Рік тому +1

      It's MobInfo2, and it's one of the very few addons that I honestly don't have any bad things to say about.
      It still remembers both of my Rhahk'Zor kills to this day.
      You can get it at Curse: www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/mobinfo2

    Awesome, I just started watching this. I noticed for me the whitescalp's hit for the same damage around 25. But the Worgs hit for 75 on average. I find this interesting cause the server I play on is suppose to be a true vanilla server. Makes me wonder who is correct. I would think blizzard would be correct on there own game but who knows. I'll have to think of someway to get through them. I'll continue watching to see how many more worgs there are in the dungeon.

    • @MildlyDungeoneering
      @MildlyDungeoneering  4 роки тому

      If you mean Bleak Worgs, they are exclusive to the first area of the dungeon (aka 'before the door' area). There is also one near Wolf Master Nandos at the end of the dungeon, and sometimes Nandos will summon more.
      As a rule of thumb, if you can't think of a solution to an encounter off the top of your head, it lies somewhere with Engineering. Engineering adds _so much_ utility and versatility to ANY character, I cannot understate it. I myself was sorta forced to pick it for some high-level encounters that couldn't be beaten in melee otherwise.

      @@MildlyDungeoneering Well I Managed to get through it. What a battle. I couldn't beat the horses. I was pretty much spent the whole time knocked down, haha. Seemed to me like all the horse use the knock down in my particular case.
      The fight with the 3 elite wolves and 1 normal wolf in Fenrus room was a crazy battle. My first death was there. Using 2 magic dust, turn undead and kiting in the circle area I managed to pull it off. This was the hardest fight in the dungeon for me. Even after I killed the one normal mob and just had the 3 elite's after my first death. It felt real clutch to win that fight. My heart was pumping as fast as it was when I fought VanCleef, lol.
      The Wolf master was interesting. He only summoned 2 elite's, with kiting and more dust got through that. Was hard but not as bad as the 3 elite wolves, I think because your not starting the fight with 3 elite's, they are summoned over time. Argul was mostly just a timing fight. I didn't feel like he could actually kill me. Figuring out that curse timing was tricky though.
      Still having a blast with this. I ran through RFC last night, was easy for sure, haha. I started preparing to level engineering. When did you first start needing the engineering items? BFD or later? Thanks again for these awesome videos.

      @@lockdup1537 it's so great to read about your adventures here! Grats on successful SFK run!
      Speaking of engineering, the earlier you get it (and get used to all the shenanigans with bombs/reflectors/guardian pets etc), the easier things will be. I specifically _needed_ it to push some DPS in fight against Fineous Darkvire in BRD, so all in all, pretty late. But I can think of a hundred encounters where it'd make it so much easier overall. Namely: healing packs in BFD, RFK and SM; all of the Gnomeregan; adds on the final boss in RFD; adds on the final boss in Uldaman; temple gauntlet in ZF; Noxxion and Celebras in Maraudon. And, really, any other hard pull.
      Also, you will pretty much _need_ a mind control cap to split harder packs in high-level dungeons (BRD, BRS), so there's that.

    really impressive, dude I love this kind of stuff, similar to hardcore wow where you only have 1 life, what dungeon will you attempt next?

      Next ones would be really short and somewhat underwhelming trips to Ragefire Chasm and Wailing Caverns. Sadly, I kinda outleveled both, and they didn't provide any meaningful challenge, but they still had to be done.
      And after that it's Blackfathom Deeps, where, hopefully, it gets interesting again.
