- Did you know Men's Rhythmic Gymnastics is not only for group events, but also for individual events? Three Kokushikan gymnasts and ex-gymnast videographer (“The Force”) have started promoting themselves to spread the sport to the world. May "The Force" be with you!
[Men's Rhythmic Gymnastics] Men’s rhythmic gymnastics (MRG) is a sport invented in Japan nearly 70 years ago. There are two variations of MRG, solo (where gymnasts perform with one of four apparatus) and team, which focuses on tumbling, flexibility, balance, and synchronization. Today there are nearly 2,000 men’s rhythmic gymnasts active in Japan, from junior clubs up through top universities.

砂浜のような足場の悪いところでも、あんな素晴らしい演技が出来るんですね。さすがです！3人も素晴らしいですが、19歳の若さでクオリティ高い作品を生み出す、舘山楓弥さんの今後も楽しみですね。

This was fabulous. Ridiculously photogenic men showcasing their skills in such a fun way. Was fun to see the making of this video. Shows just how much effort goes into something that looks effortless in the end.

I think videos like this maybe key to helping bring MRG to a broader audience and inspire boys and young men to jump on the MRG bandwagon.
It is a tremendous sport and deserves great support and acclaim. It AI had a son I would strongly steer him into it and the wonderful commaraderie of others like these young men.

The paradigm of MRG obviously, naturally doesn't give them a chance to turn it on being a rigid, group discipline where ones individuality must of necessity he subordinated to the goals of the team.
This was a brilliant video. I hope they do more.
I was reading recently that Japanese style MRG is also becoming popular in Russia, while a separate style of MRG is beginning to develop in Spain and France. Might get complicated having two sports with the same name.
The number of gymnasts actively involved in this sport in Japan is about 1,500, while in Russia, the number is much smaller. I don't know the exact number of gymnasts in Spain and France, but it's not big compared to women's RG. Even in Japan, this sport is struggling to survive, just like endangered species. It is very possible RG for men disappear from the planet while we are arguing what name is appropriate for Japanese style MRG.
But I got your point. Some people prefer having a different name, but some don't. This issue itself is complicated, indeed.

Just to make it a little bit more precise: men's rhythmic gymnastics differs from rhythmic gymnastics that men can attend. It was a pity that Tokyo Olympics didn't promote this game.

コメントありがとうございます。撮影現場、暑い上に藪蚊も出たり大変でしたが、選手たちは本当に我慢強く頑張ってくれました。
今回のPVもカッコいい〜！ドローンでの撮影や、水しぶきをあげてのシーンも素敵でした☺️今回は石川君は参加じゃなかったんですね…。

次回、冬編もできるといいなと思っております。メンバーが学生さんということで、卒業してしまうとなかなか厳しいものがあります…😭
@@OuenMRG 卒業してしまうと演技が見られないというのはとても残念ですね。社会人で大会に出場される選手はほんの一部の方だけですし、今も新体操を続けられているのか、引退されたのか、後輩の指導に携わっているのかなど気になるところです💦
