Remove water hazard, one angler, and keep it at flat 20. 2 of every sr card is good but run 3 hide tide gyojin, best vanilla beater for the water deck, 1850 with umi and is a basic rare should have 3 copies ready to go. Maybe throw in a suijin if you're feeling spicy, since two angler and two big wave small wave is more than enough to get out 2 daedalus and a suijin. Suijin can counter play big beaters and is a good alternative if you don't have 3 daedalus which is core for a high tier water deck. With the cards you have you should easily be able to hit P1. Also if you happen to pull a second michizure it wouldn't go amiss since it is basically full board clear with yomi ship. Throw in an equip spell too since a lot of the time people struggle to counter a empowered beater, plus it's good incase you checked by a twister/despell. Also second copy of umi for that purpose, if a duel happens to go longer and you either lose your field spell or someone manages to hold on past the combo, it can be a total game ruiner and give a second board clear, sure it can be dead draw but it's personal preference since if you get spell hit the water deck turns into total ass. I mean 1500 beaters a plenty isnt great and can often lead to getting cleared out before you get to your combo if your hand is kinda slow. So a copy of umi is fantastic for just avoiding nasty situations. Just my thoughts, i hit P1 last week with the water deck so just my experience. There's no real bad match ups but bad hands for a water deck, the only thing i'd say is mirror matches are a race to daedalus and not fun.
Vanguard Lyph seems like you know how to play a water deck. Just started playing this game and i find it hard to do any good with a Legendary Fisherman. whats your opinion on that card in the current meta?
It's not that great, i mean i guess you could use big wave small wave to get it out along side maybe like a suijin if you had two monsters on field, i just think there's better options since you can use big wave small wave spell to essentially replace 1 water monster on field with one from your hand, and it can be any level so like levia is the big card the deck revolves around but suijin is actually a solid replacement if you don't have multiple.
Under the tab in the upper right there is a setting called Activation Confirmation and it lets you toggle if you want the activation to be Auto, on, or off. This allows you to hide what you have in case you have a trap or something
The only thing that's good is its animation. Legendary Fisherman can be good when doubled with the trap card that destroys any monster that attacks directly.
Harley not any more they added a new continuous trap that doesn’t allow your opponent to attack you directly if you have a monster on the field. Basically, they can never attack, unless if they have a trick up their sleeve, which they always do
I've been playing water deck for a while so seeing you slip up was a little painful. But the cool thing about the water deck is there are a lot of cool little plays that you don't even realize you have at first.
in the first duel I think the misplay was not deciding to big wave small wave anyway, since you could get the Levia Dragon out along with your second Yomi in your hand in defense.
Regarding when you said you wish there was a button to skip the game asking you if you want to use an effect or trap card there actually is in the options. Under "Activation Confirmation" in settings turn it to Toggle Button. This makes a button in the bottom left during duels which you can cycle through to change settings. "Auto" is the default asking if you want to use them or not, "On" auto-chains, and "Off" makes it to where you do not get asked to use effects.
I love Ancient Dragon wish I had another for my dragon deck but I did just get a Dweller in the Depths the other day and it's just about as good maybe even better depending on who you ask.
Pretty similar to the variant I'm running. Packing a 3rd Kaiser Seahorse and Needle Sunfish over the 2 Piercing Morrays and a 2nd Water Hazard managed to fit in the deck somehow :] having a Umi in deck has definitely been helpful too
Whenever I duel, I give people chances, I want to see if they can really Challange themselves, what really matters in your last draw is "Hear Of The Cards"
there is a button that you can turn on/off in options that stops the trap triggers. you do have to be careful about turning it back on when you need them though. I've always felt a press and hold button would be better.
I love playing this deck. Kinda my main(if not, one of them). Some changes I would make is getting rid of the Umi trap and putting actual Umi in. It's simply faster. If you lose your first or blow it up with Daedalus, you have a immediate second shot. I'd also drop an Angler and maybe a Yomi ship favor of High Tide Gyojin. Having a Vanilla gives you a quicker answer for Leotaur and a sutable target for Big Wave Small Wave. Speaking of which, I found 2 to be too clunky, so I stick to one. But I'd say it's preference. I like the idea of Water Hazard, I can see why you added it in. It could also serve as a pseudo Big Wave with Angler > Daedalus. Overall, it's a good variant, just some small changes to help in other match ups. So basically: -1 Forgotten Temple of the Deep -1 Unshaven Angler -1 [Your Choice] +1 Umi +2 High Tide Gyojin Also, Nuking the field with Daedalus is your best friend. Not just to do 2600 direct, but to push the opponent back. I've made the same mistake of not nuking when I could and losing because of it. Don't get trigger happy, but don't be too passive with that effect.
1) u need to run tide gyojin, it is a normal monster that can reach 1850 with umi. 2)u have too less trap that change the atk/def stat of the monster.(it may not an issue if u have 3 tide, but may add some cards that change the stat of the monster. 3)i think u only need 2 angler, since you have 2 wave
Shady, Mako is my favorite Duelist. By far. Because water. I love water and everything about it. Hence my Sharpedo profile picture. I honestly think I have one of the best Mako decks around and I would LOVE to duel you with it some time!
Have a similar set up, but I like gisski chain and mollusk, they help rearrange the top 3 cards on your deck to get that big wave small wave, or a high monster. I like spiral serpent too, has same attack and defence at 2900 (3100 with umi) with ancient rules
You coulda used shard of greed to draw an extra card at the end. It's max draw two cards but doesn't say you can't only draw one when needed so you had an extra chance to draw a monster on your last turn
use stray lambs to summon 2 defence position monster pawns then tribute summon suijin is face down position (stray lambs only lets you set monster in face down defence). Suijins effect can set an opponets attack to 0 and so many times they attack it and the end up getting hit with -2500 life point damage
***** I originally had just "oo" but I wanted to match it up with the three-letter "yoo" because it looked weird, but I see your point. And the reason people don't really know any of that is because English is kind of a mess in that regard? It's kind of like Whose Line. Rules are made up and the points don't matter and all that. At least from how I see it.
That's one thing I like about dueling with real people. You can bluff. In person it is even better, especially if you are known for lacking a poker face. Then you just smirk when playing a random spell facedown
I used to run a thing in the crater + twin headed fire dragon combo in my kabia deck, but it was hard to pull off and it was barely benefitial in ranked duels.
Leotaur's value dropped due to the large presence of Dino Kingdom decks that feature 1.9k Normal beatsticks in the last season. I haven't tried going up the ladder this season, though, so I am not sure if Rex players are still a part of the meta or not.
For a water deck wait until till you can get tornado wall. tornado wall: Activate only while "Umi" is on the field. While "Umi" is face-up on the field, you take no Battle Damage from attacking monsters. Destroy this card when "Umi" leaves the field.
You might want to think about adding 1 or 2 more cards that give your deck more draw power. Nothing too crazy, maybe an Upstart Goblin or something like that
shady, you can big wave small wave the sane turn you out down a monster and get daedalus on the field turn one. Then use the effect and get rid of those crappy balloons and they have nothing and you win.
I use starboy in my deck because he boosts all water types by 500 and there's a pot of greed type card purely for water monsters, I think you discard 2 water monsters to draw an extra 3 cards.
I only started playing DL recently, but if you're making Normal Beatdown does that include the card Cry Havoc? It's like Ultimate Offering, but you banish a monster from the grave to normal summon a Normal monster. I know I managed to clutch out a win with a Blue Eyes using it, since you can just keep normal summoning.
Made it to KoG with ease with a simmilar deck. Drop 1 kaiser and that umi-wannabe trap for a sphere kuriboh and a real umi. The key difference is being able to sacrifise it the turn you play it for Daedalus' effect.
17:45 when you act like a child cuz you can't stand to lose hahahahaha good video bro but please, if you lose is ok and this comes from a guy that is 35 years old and just started playing this awesome game
Would be cool for you to make deck changes mid video. Even if you dont put that in the video. It's fun watching people try things out and then edit them when they don't work. Especially since it seems like you'll only be using each deck for one video
Shady when playing a water deck and you have big wave small wave, the is absolutely NO reason to wait a turn to tribute summon. Just blow up the field with levia and take the win.
I live Caesar sea horse (sorry if I spelled it wrong) but you can use him and one other person to tribute summon Gifford the lightning or just use him alone to summon blue eyes white dragon. both are incredibly powerful and with the sea horse it counts as two tributes to the summon of a light monster and I run sogen sadly I wish they had it as an ability for joey instead of just the card but it's whatever. Gifford the lightning is so OP
Shady you can make a Naturia deck! its cheap and pretty good with some trap jammers, metalmorph, and naturia dragonfly. takes some time but the naturia cards are decent. and with fairy king truesdale (sp) you can boost up strawberry and jerry beans man.
hey @shadypenguin why do you only use the minimum card amount. if you used 10 more cards you can open up more combos. especially with the water deck, I use 2 daudalus and 2 suijin and draw power helps the deck tremendously.
I would add a moray of greed it the best thing for the deck as you have a lot of monsters In you deck say for instance you drawed all monsters in your hand then you can get a Levi dedules creature and then. Leather them in one turn
Hour long Duel Links video? Multiple decks, casual, deck build and Ladder? Like my comment, so Shady can see. Thanks ppl
I would love that plus pack openings at the end
"If you get over confident, you might slip up" - lmao
"oh yeah I'm feeling vibe!!"
That's a clue,I'm near victory XD
Remove water hazard, one angler, and keep it at flat 20. 2 of every sr card is good but run 3 hide tide gyojin, best vanilla beater for the water deck, 1850 with umi and is a basic rare should have 3 copies ready to go. Tea taking 43 minutes to draw is the best thing ever.
You should make a GraveKeepers deck. They're so much fun to play with.
You probably have to duel joey for them
Thanks for making me addicted to this game shady. It's revived my childhood :]
Changes: ADDING THE LEGENDAIRY FISHERMAN
um no?? why would you add him lol
that card is straight garbage, you should avoid it
The only thing that's good is its animation. Legendary Fisherman can be good when doubled with the trap card that destroys any monster that attacks directly.
Harley not any more they added a new continuous trap that doesn’t allow your opponent to attack you directly if you have a monster on the field. Basically, they can never attack, unless if they have a trick up their sleeve, which they always do
OMG I love Shady even more now when I know he watches the Doc :O
hooooooooosk
You should add a legendary fisherman for that sweet animation
Hey shady I just wanna say I freakin love this series please keep it up
when he says Levia as Levi I keep thinking the serpent has jeans and It's hilarious and awesome.
bandit Keith cuz MERICA
MERICA
That thing in the crater/ two headed dragon combo is something I suggested when you were talking about making a pyro deck
Loving all the non pokemon games your doing, It's refreshing to watch =]
Mako can't swim? Wow, you learn something new every day
I've been playing water deck for a while so seeing you slip up was a little painful. But the cool thing about the water deck is there are a lot of cool little plays that you don't even realize you have at first.
This is the best series you are doing right now.
FINALLY AN UPDATED DESCRIPTION ON A DUEL LINKS EPISODE
omg the tea fight
discard hand
"no way she can win"
2 turns later
"oh sh-"
heart of the cards is real ppl
in the first duel I think the misplay was not deciding to big wave small wave anyway, since you could get the Levia Dragon out along with your second Yomi in your hand in defense.
Regarding when you said you wish there was a button to skip the game asking you if you want to use an effect or trap card there actually is in the options. I love Ancient Dragon wish I had another for my dragon deck but I did just get a Dweller in the Depths the other day and it's just about as good maybe even better depending on who you ask.
Also why bad mouth a 30 card deck, it kinda smacked you in the end just saying
Pretty similar to the variant I'm running. Packing a 3rd Kaiser Seahorse and Needle Sunfish over the 2 Piercing Morrays and a 2nd Water Hazard managed to fit in the deck somehow :] having a Umi in deck has definitely been helpful too

there is a button that you can turn on/off in options that stops the trap triggers. you do have to be careful about turning it back on when you need them though.
I've always felt a press and hold button would be better.
jesus i remember you when you were like 20,000 subs and now you've blown up, good job dude.
you really help me with Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links. currently I am building The Daedalus Deck, but don't have Mako unlocked yet
I love playing this deck. Kinda my main(if not, one of them). Some changes I would make is getting rid of the Umi trap and putting actual Umi in. It's simply faster. -1 [Your Choice]
+1 Umi
+2 High Tide Gyojin

headstrong29 Forgotten Temple is good. Banish one of your monsters, nuke the field and get it back during your end phase.
That deck just made me sick to my stomach lol
what you mean
Nero sea sick its a joke all the water
Todoroki 97 give us a better one
1) u need to run tide gyojin, it is a normal monster that can reach 1850 with umi.
2)u have too less trap that change the atk/def stat of the monster.(it may not an issue if u have 3 tide, but may add some cards that change the stat of the monster.
3)i think u only need 2 angler, since you have 2 wave
This is your best deck so far. Might need to get another Umi card and a spell/trap destruction card.
Shady, Mako is my favorite Duelist. By far. Because water. I love water and everything about it. Hence my Sharpedo profile picture. I honestly think I have one of the best Mako decks around and I would LOVE to duel you with it some time!
For the barrel dragon sleeves you just have to complete the stage 36 mission where you have to win a duel against joey.
Have a similar set up, but I like gisski chain and mollusk, they help rearrange the top 3 cards on your deck to get that big wave small wave, or a high monster. I like spiral serpent too, has same attack and defence at 2900 (3100 with umi) with ancient rules
I always run a despell or tornado to deal with those pesky field skills or equipment. Really can give a huge advantage.
it's teas level 20 ability that does that and it can only activate when you are 1000 LP or less
23:17 I facepalmed so hard, omg shaaady
Makos original voice isn't voicing him here.
This is Daniel J Edwards replacing him, Edwards is the voice of Dennis Macfield and Aigami.
mako and odion has the funniest voice, and thats why i played them the mosy hahaha
You coulda used shard of greed to draw an extra card at the end. It's max draw two cards but doesn't say you can't only draw one when needed so you had an extra chance to draw a monster on your last turn
@Shady if you like the water deck I liked running 1-2 copies of Sea Lord's Amulet to make you immune to opposing Yomi Ships, Michizure, Ladybugs, etc
use stray lambs to summon 2 defence position monster pawns then tribute summon suijin is face down position (stray lambs only lets you set monster in face down defence). Suijins effect can set an opponets attack to 0 and so many times they attack it and the end up getting hit with -2500 life point damage
"Ooh-mi". Not "Yoo-mi". Other than that, great video, man.
Shady, I'd LOVE to see a Joey Wheeler deck! Either roulette-based, fusion based, or Red-Eyes archetype!
I never roasted the yugioh show more than the time I asked what kind of eye liner Yami uses
That's one thing I like about dueling with real people. You can bluff. In person it is even better, especially if you are known for lacking a poker face. Then you just smirk when playing a random spell facedown
Love this series shady, glad you are join the yugioh community
do a seto kaiba blue eyes white dragon fusion deck
That would be awesome!
Holy Guard only protects Tea from battle damage. She would still have to pay the cost of Cyber Stein to activate its effect.
Build a machine deck with Bandit Keith it's so much fun.
lovin the duel links keep it up
There is a button that you can press. Open up the settings during a Duel.
I haven't tried going up the ladder this season, though, so I am not sure if Rex players are still a part of the meta or not.

shady, you can big wave small wave the sane turn you out down a monster and get daedalus on the field turn one. Then use the effect and get rid of those crappy balloons and they have nothing and you win.
If you grinded through the Pegasus event use a Relinquished deck.
I use starboy in my deck because he boosts all water types by 500 and there's a pot of greed type card purely for water monsters, I think you discard 2 water monsters to draw an extra 3 cards.
Yeah! more duel links! keep it up!
"hes playing the water deck without the water "
Them mispays triggered the hell out me bruh
I only started playing DL recently, but if you're making Normal Beatdown does that include the card Cry Havoc? It's like Ultimate Offering, but you banish a monster from the grave to normal summon a Normal monster. I know I managed to clutch out a win with a Blue Eyes using it, since you can just keep normal summoning.
I made King of games with a water deck but I was focusing on Suijin, Scapegoat and Ceal Bow.
Duel links is great! shadypenquin is even better!
Shady I would really like to see a video where you buy 10-15 packs and make a deck from it. Than play a couple of games with it in the video.
the ability to special summon with that water deck makes me question how strong my fire deck is
I personally like running cure mermaid in a water deck cuz with umi it becomes a 1700 beater, plus 800 lp each standby phase
Made it to KoG with ease with a simmilar deck. Drop 1 kaiser and that umi-wannabe trap for a sphere kuriboh and a real umi. The key difference is being able to sacrifise it the turn you play it for Daedalus' effect.
I was 1 win away from King of Games today and my friend's phone call ended my 9 game win streak
17:45 when you act like a child cuz you can't stand to lose hahahahaha good video bro but please, if you lose is ok and this comes from a guy that is 35 years old and just started playing this awesome game
YES, MAKO!
Would be cool for you to make deck changes mid video. Even if you dont put that in the video. It's fun watching people try things out and then edit them when they don't work. Especially since it seems like you'll only be using each deck for one video
Great video!! You're awesome, Shady!
That's not how Cyber-Stein works. Paying LP is not considered damage.
Shady when playing a water deck and you have big wave small wave, the is absolutely NO reason to wait a turn to tribute summon. Just blow up the field with levia and take the win.
I feel that first loss happens to me all the time
I love Umi cards so much.
What I would change in the deck:
+2 Moray of Greed
+ 2-3 Blizzerd, defender of the ice barrier
All for extra consistency.
I run a similar deck and I love it. I hate when they turn 1 Twister or Dspell. I also run an extra Umi, it's so clutch.
My Water decks usually have a Chain Destruction + 3 Phantom Grass combo. High chance of getting a 2000 Atk beater for free.
Also add the great white shark, 1600 attack points and I think 1500 defence
u need hammer shark now
Duel links on the channel is a lot of fun :)
moray of greed is amazing for water deck. most of the time its alot more useful than shard of greed
the last duel is GG
shady paladin of white dragon has an effect which can summon a blue eyes white dragon that's in your hand or deck
This is like the deck that I am using except you have many of the rarer cards.
I'm hoping with duel link that they will eventually have different battle modes based on the newer versions of yugioh like synchro or xyz
you should add hammer shark, 1700 atk - 1900 atk with umi and u can basicly double summon water monsters with his effect
Shady I love you and I love duel links you're amazing!!!
Shady add a sanga of the thunder to that deck over 1 of the piercing moray. Great 2700 beater to synergies with kaiser sea horse
Shady you can make a Naturia deck! its cheap and pretty good with some trap jammers, metalmorph, and naturia dragonfly. takes some time but the naturia cards are decent. and with fairy king truesdale (sp) you can boost up strawberry and jerry beans man.
He only lost the final duel as he didn't have faith in the heart of the cards.
Shady! Would ever think about maybe holding a duel network tournament or something similar?
Hey Shady, ik you arent feeling the pokemon games right now, but have you thought about taking part in one of those leagues again at some point ?
hey @shadypenguin why do you only use the minimum card amount. if you used 10 more cards you can open up more combos. especially with the water deck, I use 2 daudalus and 2 suijin and draw power helps the deck tremendously.
I would add a moray of greed it the best thing for the deck as you have a lot of monsters In you deck say for instance you drawed all monsters in your hand then you can get a Levi dedules creature and then. Leather them in one turn
