Not japanese btw its korean 😊 Just remember if its kpop most of the time its korean. Kpop artists do make a japanese version but it will be said so in the title as "Japanese version". Btw, comparing to western, kpop music videos have always been insanely high budget even 10 years ago but these past few years, the set have been more insane than ever 😂
No Japanese in the song, only Korean and English (although they are multilingual, speaking 3-5 languages each, and when they perform live in Japan they do sing in Japanese)

YESSS i love blackpink! They have only used green screen once and that was their first ever music video. Ever since 2017 they've never used green screen and all their music videos are amazing!! They are also Headlining Coachella this year!
One of the best song is Pink Venom.Only Blackpink girls can give their unique flavours to these kind of song.Others tried to cover or copy them but failed.
BLACKPINK's music videos have million dollar budgets as they never use Cgi or green screens, all stage sets are 100% real and built from scratch exclusively for the music video.

Blackpink is the biggest girl group in the world. They are the most subscribed artist or band on YT with 84 million subscribers. They are currently on a world tour and played 14 shows in North America.
Great reaction. Check out their Shutdown music video, totally rap heavy. Then check out 2 songs in their album that are completely different and each awesome "Typa Girl" (totally rap) and "Happy Girl" (cry in your beer sad song). BTW, YG (their agency) has stated that Pink Venom is the most expensive Kpop music video in history. There are several other very extremely talented and good female kpop groups, but none compare to the hard edge sounds and beats of Blackpink. Blackpink has had only one producer, who was a male Korean-American rap star in Korea when he was younger, and is a genius at blending every genre imaginable from R&B, Latin, EDM, Middle-Eastern, rap, pop, and yes, even Country (in their Stay and Whistle songs).

We never know whats behind the scenes but one thing is for sure, these girls can write their own raps and lines. Rosé participated writing her solo while jennie and lisa write their own rap parts in sure thing. Jennie was even hated by this certain producer for changing her part in typa girl. That producer even make a fuss by downgrading coco chanel lyrics of jennie. Jennie also participated in her solo and bp song stay but was not given credits. Jisoo have also participated in their album. So i doubt that they can't write.

Straykids and Ateez are two other groups that have amazing songs and videos. Ateez recently released Halazia and Straykids has Case 143 but it is a new flavor for them. Straykids songs Gods Menu or Thunderous are amazing. But either group would be worth at least a quick view. And Straykids has a friendship with Ryan Renolds which is pretty fun to see.
No green screens were used! There were led screens used in some parts but no green screens. They were actual sets!!

YG entertainment, the label that Blackpink belongs to, holds super competitive auditions where only the best of the best get through. After that, they’ll spend anywhere from few months all the way up to a DECADE as a trainee in training camps, honing their skills as dancers, singers, rappers etc. it’s really tough work and they’re never even promised a “debut” until they meet the super high standards of YG. The people who do end up as artists for YG are well and truly the cream of the crop.
As for the meaning of Pink Venom, I think a lot of people think the line “taste that pink venom” has some kind of sexual connotation but I think it’s more in the vein of, taste how lethal we are. We have two badass rappers, two incredibly skilled singers , we can dance well and our production value is sky high. In other words we get BODIES. Have a taste…cause it’ll be your last 😌

FYI their other new music video SHUT DOWN is much different visually, stark even, as every set and large prop in the video is a direct reference to an older BLACKPINK music video. The song's meaning is twofold, they are "shutting down" their haters and they are also "closing the doors" on their old music and "leveling up" to the new version of BLACKPINK. If you're looking for jaw-dropping visuals I'd recommend HOW YOU LIKE THAT or KILL THIS LOVE. By the way, their "Badge of Honor" is the fact that they use all practical sets. props and effects in their videos, their "Making Of" videos are also fun to check out!)

So yeah, Blackpink is "big" and holds a lot of worldwide records. ;) You could argue that Blackpink and BTS are the biggest music artists in the world right now (bigger than any western artist). K-Pop of course has alot more to offer than just Blackpink and BTS. K-Pop in itself doesn't have one "formula" or "recipe" for its music although the genre mixing is popular in lots of K-Pop. K-Pop itself is just the term for the Korean mainstream music industry and their system how they find, train and produce music artists ("idols"). There are a lot of different music genre influences and styles of music to explore in K-Pop. If you want to dive deeper into this world, my main suggestion is to react to the Blackpink documentation "Light Up The Sky" on Netflix first. It's not only the perfect introduction into Blackpink but also into K-Pop as a whole and great content for your Patreon. There a also fan made guides about Blackpink, but those are mostly from fans for fans so I would suggest to stick to the official documentation for the beginning. Blackpink also has some fun vlog / reality tv style shows available on their youtube like Blackpink Diaries (which follows their 2019 world tour) if you want something shorter and be able to upload it also here on UA-cam as well.

Blackpink doesn't have many Korean music awards - less than BTS, Exo, Twice, Red Velvet, Bigbang, GG, Gfriend, Apink, etc. (But at the international level, of course, few people can compete with them from the k-pop sphere).
In all Korean social networks, when it comes to Blackpink, they are more hated than praised, not to mention the frequent racist attacks on the non-Korean BP member.

This was a homage to all the artists they studied as trainees. Starts with Biggie line kick in the door, goes to Rihanna sample ending with 50 cent lines. Then Taylor Swift shout out…etc. They also use retro outfits throughout. By the way, they never use green screen and will be the headliners at Coachella this year.

Oh, if you like "Easter eggs", you REALLY need to check out their "DDU-DU DDU-DU" M/ V, it is chock full of them, some related to the group and girls, some to "popular culture" from as early as the sixties - I've lost count of how many times I've seen it, and there are still bits I will 'just' notice now. Some will be very subtle, like a pun on a credit card sign on a door (Lovesick Girls), others background posters - basicaly anything in print may be significant.
The imagery is very important with their M/Vs, even if you don't get its meaning at first, but some are just fun..
Pink venom just means that their music will infect you like venom.
