Grieg Star L-class

The Grieg Star L-class Open Hatch vessels from 2012-2014 are 10 very advanced breakbulk vessels. They all have:
advanced swing cranes
removable tween-decks
75 MT cranes, combined to 150 mt
fully electric cranes ensuring a smooth operation
keep cargo in same position when slewing

Love these Ships, our Moran Towing Tugboats assist them in Docking at Mayors Point Terminal in the Port of Brunswick, Georgia that's owned by Georgia Ports Authority quite often. The 21 year old Norwegian Flagged M/V Star Isfjord is currently docked there as I'm typing this July 1, 2021 and she was inbound on June 29 when she was docked in Brunswick. Very impressed by these awesome Break Bulk Ships! Great video!

Yes, the L-class is what is called an open hatch vessel. It means the cargo hold opening is as big as the cargo hold itself. We often compare it to a shoe box.
