For the next 2 weeks I will be going through everything you have posted from the start again trying to summarize all the information into something compact. Taking into account my climate here in South Africa during winter at zero C and summer at 42C. I have dealt with roof heights and microbes before. Building the right environment with the best efficiency takes some planning and guidance. 6 months of listening first, planning in my head. Time to do. Edit: Problems and tears will always be part of going from theory to practical. It is all part of this journey.
I was not going to put them in the fridge in case it killed the embryo.. thanks for the info 👍 How long can you keep them in the fridge? i bought a mini fridge goes low as 46.94f
I HOPE YOU READ THIS 💗 In the past I asked about broody females and was told that yall didnt really know anything about them... I really was just curious how often you see it in yours, if at all, and if you felt like the brokdy ones should be kept. Since they are kind of rare, but because its not needed the way we all incubate-- some people say to butcher, others say to keep. Id love your opinion on this sir! I habe learned to trust what you say over others, as youve never pointed me in the wromg direction..,
Hi Terry i recently had a customer getting back to me about low fertility in the eggs i sent. I checked few batches and 80% are fertile. I store them in a mini fridge at 50F, would any lower than that kill the eggs off?
hey terry i understand your message through your hand sign myself also being a brother but of a different race will you help me get started i already raise quail but can not grow in production brother show me how
Miss your website! Ive been at this for over a year and id like to update everyone by saying we are doing Great! Shout out to @hatchingtime Rust free, BEST cages on the market
Love your videos! You are an excellent teacher! I have watched most all your videos. Do you sell jumbo eggs to North Carolina? Just starting to raise quail and am looking to raise the biggest ones I can. Thanks, Pete
I haven’t watched the video yet but I’d like to say thank you so much for making all your videos. I was planning on getting Quail last year and my parents were on board. But I ended up getting a Parrot in the meantime and put my savings towards that instead. Now that it is getting warmer out my parents told me I can get quail this spring. I need to re-save my money again, nevertheless I’m still Super excited! You have the best videos and perfectly explain everything! Thanks for all that you do Terry!

@@CoturnixCorner Would you consider shipping a couple dozen eggs to Canada ?
@@machinegreen1911 sorry I’m not currently shipping hatching eggs, and the cost to ship out of the country would be more than the eggs are worth.
At what age do you think the hens and roosters are fully fertile?
Waiting on updates on breeding program

Do you go straight from refrigerator into incubator? Is there any “counter top” time for them to slowly warm up?
Good question. Waiting for a response from Terry too!
Terry I don’t remember where you said you purchased your quail egg cartons. I think you said some please in TX. Can you repeat please?
Thanks for the information, does this also apply to chicken eggs?
Can you please send me a model of refrigerator.
Update for the next live cast?
Do you sell on eBay if so what is user name

Glad to hear you are doing good!
Whats the advantage of using the foam egg holder over using the plastic crates?
Is the "zone of suspended development" consistent for all eggs or is the range you quoted specific to coturnix spp.?
How long have you kept them in the refrigerator
Up to 7 days for incubation.
Thank you for this information! Appreciate all your hard work putting out videos!
You’re welcome
Terry, where did you get the foam pieces for storage/shipping?
I order them from Eggshippers.com and also save them from incoming egg shipments.
@@CoturnixCorner Thanks Terry. Another informed video 👍
so sad.... none of my 30 eggs (purchased from a reputable company) hatched... $80 gone... no quail farm in my future
I bought a cheap wine cooler for storing my Partridge eggs works perfect

What do you look for in hatching eggs ? Size shape ?
for my jumbo lines I select egg 14 grams and up. No odd shaped eggs, nothing pointy or overly rounded.
@@CoturnixCorner thank you. That’s kind of what I was thinking too.
All ways good information.
Thanks how can I order from i

Great video Terry. Just curious why do you store the eggs in foam shipping inserts? There are trays that would save space.
