A solo camp next to a Trig, perfect. That was a stunning sunrise, too, Rachel. Then a Base Jump. Wow. Thanks for sharing. You won't get a shot like that again. Yep, watched beginning to end.
Rachel, a cool micro adventure, evening to really early morning👍 It looks like that was money well spent on getting the tent second hand👍 A beautiful sunrise☀and an equally beautiful memory to take with you. Cool to catch the naughty jump off the pylon👍
Hi Dave, I can't quite believe I caught it on camera! When I was packing up my stuff, I thought I could hear voices near by, didn't think much of it until I saw the base jumpers. It makes wild camping look rather tame in comparison xx
I really like my Lunar Solo. Lots of space, easy to set up, and pretty light weight. I know SMD say to pitch the back into the wind, but on nights where there is no threat of rain I'll put the door towards the breeze with both sides of the vestibule tied back. No condensation build up and it's like a funnel for the breeze, keeping you cool.
I was very fortunate with the weather, perfect conditions. I still need to test it out in the rain. I’ve had double layered tents before that had condensation, it’s just happens every now again, it’s nothing to worried about. 😎 So far, I’m really happy with the tent. I do like trekking pole tents.
I did hear voices around 5am and thought nothing of it, I thought maybe a mobile security van was checking the BT comms tower as a routine patrol. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw someone jumping from it, I thought it might have been Batman!
Dear Rachel The green light makes reading maps in the dark easier (contour lines don't show up well with white or red flashlights). The blue light is excellent for medical work in the dark as it shows up blood much better than the other light colours. Hope that is of help.
Ah ok, I don’t know that. That’s really good to know. I haven’t done much night nav but will consider the blue light in future if I end up in that situation. Thank you 😊
Ahh what a lovely little camp, and what a sunrise!!! I struggle with summer sunrises as I’m not a morning person lol!! Can’t believe that person jumped off that pylon thing!! Crazy!! Great vid lovely xx
That was a wonderful little night out, thank you so much for inviting us. Here is a little tip from the military for eating a military ration without using a long spoon. Just cut or tear the pouch along the side, instead of the top, and it will open up like a bowl. It's much easier than trying to reach down all the way to the bottom through the smaller opening at the top. Good Luck and Happy Camping.
25C at 7pm, that’s exactly what its been like here for the last ten days. 🥵 thankfully ive woken up today and we have a cloud in the sky, yay! Lovely trig point. Nice looking tent, love the discreet colour. The sunblesa lite looks fancy! Steak and vegetables with dumplings? Now that sounds amazing. Looks decent too, sporks away! Love the friendly cows, that would be Alan Metalman having nightmares! Like the blue setting and RC on the sunblesa. Great sunrise, think the skylark got you up to see it! Breakfast on a trig, very classy! Wow a tower base jump, thats very cool. Great video 👍
Hi Rachel. Great little spot you found there, tucked away down into the long grass👍 To me, the green of your new tent looks much more stealthy than the Lanshan shade of green. Ideal for a spot like that! You may have seen, I use a 36l Osprey pack (the Stratos) for overnighters too. I find it just big enough, so long as you don't bring any luxuries! 😁 Keeps you disciplined and keeps the weight down though👍 Great camp & a beautiful sunrise! All the best👍😊
Osprey do make very good quality rucksacks, 36L is perfect during the summertime. Yes, it was a quiet spot, out the way. Thanks for watching Des. All the best xx
This was a lovely watch, sat in my living room, inside an OEX Bobcat...!😄 Can't believe no Lanshan...??😲 Like the different lights on the Bivy Lamp & mag mount...👍 Stunning colourful sun shots...🙏 & No mention of midges, gnats, or mossies as they got me good 2weeks ago...😡🤬🤣 I've gathered lots of bug prevention kit since...!😂✔️👍💯...
I hear good things about the OEX Bobcat, definitely a contender. Yeah, still kicking myself for selling the Lanshan, really good tent too. Thankfully the mozzies weren’t out much where I was, just the gnats. However I was covered from head to toe in Jungle formula which sinks but does the job. Thanks for watching. X
Hi Rachel I love that area and your tent looks great. The light would be really handy too . Cute neighbours but I could not believe the parachute jumpers 😯~ Anna 👍
Thank you! Great video and awsome hiking experience. Sunblesa camping/bivvy light, you can pull out the rope from middle. This rope is snap-on design. Best regards. Gavin/Sunblesa
Hi Rachel I always enjoy your product review starting with clear description, test, and your honest opinion. OMG, you can talk and talk, documentation is superb! Is that backpack water proof? Cool to know it is easy for yourself to build a tent. I wonder how the fabric can be sturdy and resistant against inclement weather? How come you could not use a remote to change the color for the light? ]wow that little stove piece makes a little difference, wow Yes, it is rewarding to view this sunrise 12:53 gorgeous it is! OMG, you are one of the brave hikers. I am afraid being along in the tent over night. haha See you next time. Thank YOU. If you it is not too much to ask, Please drop by kayak7seas and let me know what you think of white water rafting. Appreciate it.
Thanks for your kind words. When I hear myself back on a video, it just sounds like a load of waffle lol! I’m keen to try the tent out in other weather conditions, only time will tell if it’s a keeper. 🤨 Thanks for watching. 😎
Hi Ally, thanks for watching and commenting. I had a few things from Sunblesa and they have really good quality. I’ll definitely use the bivvy lite again. 😎
If stealth caming , you would be leess likely to be seen near gdeenery or trees. Nice tent quite a bit of space. May be an idea to let rain wash it. I see loaxs with trecking poles theseday, i cant see the benifit of them really. Used to use a good companions A frame tent, very good but heVy, okay if you have a car with you but not ifyomping it on foot for mles. I tend ro keep weight down tbesedays if possible and not take to much kit to cary, just keep it simple. You can get at outdoor supply shops all day breakfasts in a packet like beans, bangers and mash and simular. Or just take porridge kr weetabix and milk. Good video rachael
Hi 👋 Thanks for stopping by. I bought a load of tent meals, which I haven’t really taken too but need to eat them up. Can’t go wrong with porridge with a dash of honey. The spot I pitched was an area I know really well. Out of sight from buildings (the tower is unmanned) and off the path. I didn’t see a soul apart from the base jumpers! Lol!
Rachel so great to see you out camping and enjoying the countryside 👌. I'm so pleased for you that you decided to try it out and now your on a roll. Are you going to camp during the winter? There was some lovely rolling countryside with lots of bird song. Until you next camp atb Taff 🤠👊 x
Thanks for stopping by 😀 Trekking pole tents are a bit like Marmite, love ‘em or loath ‘em. Not sure how it will fair in more challenging weather, and only time will tell. 😎
Yes it was a lovely walk back. The birdsong wasn’t going to let me sleep in lol! I bought the chest pod because I was getting annoying of getting stuck in sheep squeeze gates when I was wearing my bumbag. This appears to have solved the problem and it’s 4Lt, plenty of room for an OS map, battery pack and phone. I like it.
Some awesome shots in there 👌I like the look of that tent too 🤓 Ben
Thanks Ben. The tent is working well so far. ☺️

Hi 👋 I got lucky with the sunshine, it was a cracking little camp too. Thanks.

To catch the fleeting travels of a base jumper, that's extraordinary! The rewards of camping are very special, sometimes.
