I was apart of $ and markets with Michael Carr “precision profits”, gorilla trades and SPX godfather, whom does a live zoom M-F 9:30-4:00. The effort he puts into his program is very special. He has a decent little scalp process. But it is such a small scalp it doesn’t have room for a logical stop loss, without getting stopped out more than not. So because of that he endures LARGE LARGE LOSSES when he has a loss. I have seen him lock in $12k before noon and by the end of the day he cashed out with $910.00, another up $6-8K by 10am then finish the day with like $200.00. So I personally didn’t like the loss and how there was not a good way to put in a stop. It might work for some out there but it just didn’t resonate with me. I would say the Michael Carr emails on different option trades “precision profits”, banyan Hill is the most worth it. Thats the one I will be upgrading to another year. It’s not live like the SPX guy, but it makes sense the strategy. It has room for stop losses that can stop you out and still be in the green. It’s a better overall system. More “trading” or “ strategic trading” vs the other one was almost a gamble with some indicators. Lol. Stay safe all best of luck on your journeys!!!
I worked for a private bank for over a decade. The amount and variety of fraud I witnessed nearly made me lose faith in humanity. I saw quite a few people fall victim to that gift card scam, very sad.
this is why i generally dont go short. Or if i do, i set my stop losses EXTREMELY tightly.
when going long, you know that the max loss you could ever possibly have will reduce your account to zero, but no further. when going short, you can blow right past zero and end up OWING money instead. as a matter of fact, there is *theoretically* no limit to your potential loss. terrifying concept.
This makes me sick to my stomach as well. New retail traders who don't really understand the risks of short trading could ruin their lives in one trade because of a scam. So scary! Thank you for posting this video.
This makes me sick to my stomach as a short seller. My worst loss this year was on OCEA halt gap up on 5,000 shares. Opened 2 points higher than halt price. Absolutely frightening. Definitely changing stock short criteria.
I hope no one lost their life savings and then some.

Holly crap man that's a rip, thank you for the warning. You a great man and one of the very few that can actually take your word. This last year have been exposed to so many things more along the lines with the dark pools and the hedges. But everything you have said has gotten really really bad, there seems to be scams every where now.

Thanks for making this video, it will save a lot of people a lot of grief in the future from these pump and dump scam stocks. The point that it dropped from $509 to $250 in under a minute with about 15 prints alone raises a lot of questions. If you look at the time and sales it went from 509 to 300 in 4 prints....total sketch.
This is one reason why I don't short stocks.
Everyone should share this video as much as possible. Back before the pandemic when there was a lot of talk about weed stocks. I had a friend on Facebook that was someone in my union who I had worked with on projects making some comments about a couple of the weed stocks. He said that he owned shares. Of course I pulled up the stock and there was no liquidity. So I called him out on that. Turns out that some of the shares sitting on the offer was his. He admitted to having a sell order out for a long time. Whenever someone gives you a stock tip, always question and analyze it before you even think about getting in to it!
Thanks for shedding light on this, Ross. Like you said, it's challenging enough as it is. Unfortunately, I suspect we will see increased levels of sophistication with these scams as AI powered bots and algos are being employed by good as well as bad actors.
Also ppl watch out for anyone charging you $6000 for a day trading course knowing good and well there’s a 98% chance you will fail at it
Stay away from unknown stocks. Never trade unless ATR>2 + Price>20 + Float>20m + Average Daily Volume>200k , then you have participation and an opportunity.

Another scam I see a lot is someone in the comments will say they are profitable and that person and a second commenter will have a full conversation eventually leading you to add or page that they credit profitability to.

Very spot on about the fraudsters. There are scammers all over social media pretending to work for my company. All using these types of scams. My advice to all is do your homework on who you are dealing with. Are they compliant? Do they conduct business "professionally"? Sadly though, most will not do this. However, once they are scammed they find me. I hear some very bad stories about how much people have lost. It is very happy to see another trader telling the truth to help protect people. Great job. Keep it up.

The interesting thing is why exchange didnot open this all day . Any input . Was exchange involved in it . Volatility halts don’t last entire day unless it’s T12
yea the long all day halt was unusual
And this is why I don't touch small caps or Chinese stocks of any type. The manipulation is happening daily.

thank you sir, I feel so bad for the new trader. They lost their ass, and some people kill themselves over this. Imagine how that would change your life if you didn't know anything and lost 1/2mil or 1mil. Life changing in a bad way.

70%of my account gone. Some people lost 90%of capital. CHSN at 14.51 was 322000 shares buying order. When it hit 14.51 it start falling. Halted at 11.61. Then I placed selling order for all shares but it only sold at 5.60... And at the end it dropped to 1.5
No one deserve for that a loss
Noticed another one recently. Had reverse stock split.....a float of about 237K shares..........but Oct 13th had sold more than 1 million warrants for cash......exercisable at .01. I thought it would go up at the open.....but nope.....it started selling off. No place listed this information. Many websites update their databases on a quarterly basis. I'm sure that many traders lost money on that.

On the flip side why not just do the opposite of what they say. If they tell you to short stock xyz just buy the dip with a low 2,000 share risk and if it rips up cash out w th 100k ?
O snap I understand the snap. So what happens to the buyer who buys X shares at $500+?? That’s crazy. This is at $113, that’s crazy. This whole thing is crazy it’s bugging me out 😂

Wow, that breaks my heart. Companies that run fraudulent adds should have to pay hefty fines. They won't stop running them until they have to.
I watch it closly , its chinese stock, also my provider doesn’t give me to short it on 320$, also the locate for it was unussually cheap , so search for the same conditions
Most limit orders wont go through after hours unless you have the correct settings on there.

Ross but there was around 700K volume only on this stock at the time it was peaking. If one bought let’s say 1000 shares at the time, would they still be able to sell them for, like you say millions of dollars? In this example it would’ve been $500,000 profit at $500 per share.
Well, that's why I will never ever short a stock, especially these kind. Shorting is stupid anyway to begin with.

I'm seeing those scam ads all the time on twitter, with the "celebrity" and some sort of financial advice but i always thought it was mostly about crypto scams.
I might drop $100 in a stock that sells off with low volume and has that setup 😅😅 stay safe guys
$LQDA did the same thing today although only gapped up to $11. Similar action where it sold off a little and then bounced. It would be nice to be able to spot these before the main move and then ride them up. - Thanks again for this incredible content Ross.

There's lots of these scams. In my opinion The Motley Fool is one of them. I can't believe how many ads I get from them, linking to one of their BS stock picks. Some of their past picks were so bad it must have been a pump and dump. Never trust any financial ads.

Was watching that ticker is factors into why I will not short a stock that does not have an options chain that allows me to protect myself.
My heart breaks for these people. BUT I’m going to say the same thing I say to my dad… don’t trade meme stocks, stocks that are being promoted heavily, stay with large cap popular stocks, learn to chart and trade on your own.

Why would they lose money shorting if they don’t cover their positions? Don’t cover it - simple!
Cover the position when it comes down to $1
Because of a margin call. They don't have enough collateral to keep their short positions open.

2. Those duplicate accounts are clearly not you. I won't mention their tells because I don't want to help them in any way.
3. If I get skilled enough, I'd thought about trading for a select few people under contract, to gain additional capital, but that would be done under a written contract stating, how much of their money I'm using, what percentage of the total capital their money represents, how long I would utilize their capital (up to three months at a time), and what percentage of their profit I retain for the service (ex I retain 10% and their money represents 40% of the total capital, so at the end of the period I return their funds plus 36% of the profit), risk management protocols, the trade ledgers and screenshots they're to receive, and with the caveat that profits aren't guaranteed. It was just a thought
