Solid content as always @Respawn Sports, but very much worth mentioning - The hunt for a full legendary bag is going to take a long time and playing at a disadvantage by saving all fittings until the best is available isn't really advised for anyone who is not an uber-hardcore/competitive player. If you are a casual or even semi-hardcore player the odds of achieving a full legendary bag, with all "custom legendary" fittings is highly unlikely without really dedicating many many hours to the cause. The benefits of equipping fittings as you play are tremendous at the rare/epic level. They can give you an edge in competition and make the game more enjoyable overall. If you are trying to min-max and are willing to grind at the base level for an extended period of time, this is definitely good advice. If you are looking to enjoy the game and min/max'ing isn't the goal, I would suggest you make use of any Fitting that you feel will provide value to you on the course.
Good advice Craig. I always take it through the lens of myself being uber hardcore, but you are absolutley right, equip the fittings as you go to achieve a more powerful golfer as you go. Pinning this because it is very solid advice.

This is a VERY useful video. I've been playing 2K3 on the PC for a couple of months and enjoying it, but honestly I had never fully understood the Fittings, nor the Skill Tree. I was blindly just spending all my points. Thanks a lot, Respawn.
The first video of a series of tutorials that will be coming to the channel. I will go over the game, the basics of mechanics, some advanced mechanics (wind, elevation, putting, etc) and everything in between. Thanks for the continued support on the channel. This has easily been the best month of my content career. Appreciate you all.
Great info, man. My question pertains to sponsors: how do I raise the tier levels of my current sponsors? I understand using gear, equipment, etc., but is it truly based on performance? For example, 2K is my ball sponsor but the tier level does not advance even though I’m using their balls. The same thing is happening with my Nike sponsorship. Any thoughts?
FYI for the tier 7 skills, you actually do get all 3 bonuses if you get level 3 on those skills. I just tested it with every club, the transition and timing bonuses are still there even if you level up past level 1 and 2.
Man, thank you for this video!! I bought this after playing 2k21 religiously but ti bought this awhile back and turned it off immediately because the UI , menus, were confusing as heck. Thank you for this. Great job!
I think we’ll see a lot of fine tuning in irons too. So maybe your 4 and 5 iron you want more power fittings and 7 8 9 you want more control and scoring attributes
Can you do a video explaining what the opponent difficulty sliders are/do? The ones for cpu event skill deviation, round skill deviation, cpu attendance. Perhaps recommend what percentage for cpu skill based on what swing difficulty one uses, no power meter, etc. I personally have green grid, wind meter, elevation on while using legend swing. Does making the course conditions harder affect the cpu scores? If you have already done one, sorry. Love the videos you've done
Thank you so much for that video. I have just started playing the game and I had no idea how the fitting works. So now I want to trade up to legendary to get the best clubs. I also have no idea how the skills works, so that is going to be my next video. Keep up the good work
I had 2k21 on the Switch, I did not play it much. Then I refound my interest in actual golf. So to keep the feeling going I bought a PS5 and started playing 2K23 last week. Ive already got on the Kornferry Tour and now have sponsors! how cool!
Great Video. I have only played a handful of rounds so far. The thing that I find the hardest is the short chip shots, no matter how I swing I get fast, very fast or a non swing. I'm not sure why.
Nice content, I haven't even look yet at the fittings, over me head at the moment. This is going to help for sure. I'm struggling with the greens/putting but enjoying the game. Cheers 👍👍
Hello, thank you so much for this video. I previously played a lot of pga2k21 but this has been a huge help with breakdown of attributes and advice on the career mode. Keep up the amazing work
Hey man! Thanks for the video. Do you know if fittings stats apply to every game mode (i.e. casual with friends or online) or is it just applied to my career?
I'm enjoying the game much more than 2k21 so far. The introduction of 3-click is a game-changer for me. My Logitech pad didn't work too well in the last game, and I understand it wouldn't have been allowed on TGC Tours even if I did get it working well. That wasn't a positive experience. Again, thank you for the videos. They helped me decide that '23 was worth buying, and indeed it is. It's a better game imo, and much more accessible.
Great video! Pumped to see you're killing it with the post release content. I always turn to you for insight on how to improve and now with the new mechanics of skill attributes and fittings we'll all be tuned in to see what you can figure out. If it helps anyone else out there, I noticed a huge improvement to my play on 23 after I switched to Greensman and applied all the decent fittings I had. Every aspect of my game improved so for anyone holding out on fittings or sticking ti powerhouse maybe give Greensman a try and apply those fittings that seem logical. If anyone is looking for people to play with my PS4 handle is same as my UA-cam. I finally published my new course Streamsong Black Forest2 if anyone is up for offering me some feedback that would be awesome. Keep up the great work and I'll see you all on the course!
Damn I wish I saw this video sooner…I didn’t know that about the fittings!!! 😮🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ I’m on my 2nd season… haven’t gotten into competition online play yet…still getting comfortable playing the game
If I customize my fittings on lets say my driver, but I unlock another driver I think is cooler and add it to my bag, will the custom fitting stay on the new driver or would I have to do it all over again? Thanks for the awesome videos!
As a total newbie to the game, and series, and genre, I appreciated this video. I have seen a few people mention starting on pro difficulty if you wish to play online. I do wish to play online, as I love online competitive gaming. The problem is when I changed it to pro difficulty last night I went from being half-decent, to completely woeful. I put in a few hours but I was getting frustrated.. Do you think I should continue to torture myself learning pro difficulty? Or should I ease myself into the game by playing on amateur? Would appreciate any advice from a professional on the game, thanks.
I should've watched this before I started playing a week ago...😂 There's a lot I don't understand. Definitely changing 4 rds to 1 in career to boost payouts..
I really want them to go back to the swing meter on the bottom of the screen. Can hit the ball batter on 21 then I can hit it on 23. 23 is more frustrating and annoying
I just bought the game for only 15 euro on steam and thanks for this upload dude. Haven't been playing any other golf game then WGT and I'm really excited for this game.
My aim with this version - as with all previous ones - is to master the basic skills involved to get better at the game. I'm not interested in levelling up a massive RPG skill tree if it's just makes the game easier. I just want to get to a point where my player's abilities aren't changing and the improvements I see in score are purely about my own skills. I wonder whether that means I need to grind extremely hard early on to 'max out' my character, or just to not bother doing any character updates in the first place?
thank you very much, without your help I would have quit the game for sure. iI have just reset my skill points but most of the skills are locked 🔒. I have many points but I'm forced to spend them in the first three categories, how do I unlock the others? 🙏
My problem with 2k21 was that while it's good to have so many different ways to fine-tune difficulty, sometimes too much choice can be a bad thing. For example, I never got the hang of swing timing. Fast, slow seemed to be just random to me, like what am I doing "slow", but if I turn it off it's way too easy, if I turn it on I get FIR about 12 holes if I'm lucky. We can adjust swing difficulty overall but I don't like that timing is either ON or OFF. Maybe in this new version we can do that or get a swing timing boost from those skill point thingies.
8:00 WTF??? Why do they have to make this so complicated??? SEriously I've watched this 4 times and I'm still confused. Okay so you got these columns with the icons, but why are they separated by club type? It looks to me like you can only give a timing boost when using drivers but you have to add skills per club, and then alternate between catch-up and boost... I'm glad they put ratings in, but you need a 20 page manual just for the skills. Very bad job 2k! So how do I view my ratings and how do these "skill points" affect ratings?

Thank you very much, this was very helpful. I traded in everything I had to get a bunch of legendary fittings. Still grinding though as I need the points to apply them. At least I'm not wasting my time and there's a plan of attack.

I've defeated each of the 3 rivals in tier #1 {Score -10 each round) not only in the Bluff Tournament, but playing other MyCareer courses. Help… I have a good understanding of what I’m doing… but I just keep playing and playing… and I’m not getting anywhere… no orange fits… no upgrades… nothing… and I’ve birdied everything for 100 hours of game play… what am I doing wrong
They both give forgiveness. Timing makes the tempo window bigger for forgiveness there. Swing path makes the up and down line for your swing bigger which also makes forgiveness better.
Hey, why is this game becoming so unplayable? Every shot glitches, hesitates, pauses, skips. My Avatar is facing the right with club around body and should be looking down the course. Meter is not consistent, power right in the sweet spot and sometimes slow, sometimes fast. After game my Avatar's eye and teeth are flying out of his face. I was progressing great, then Pro level is completely unplayable. I either want these issues fixed or my money back. I have sent message to the PGA 2K23 asking for fixes and afte this last update it's even worse. I don't see any videos with others same frustrations. Any suggestions?
Anyone else have a glitch in the swing? I start my swing, the reticle moves a fraction and resets to the starting position and I have to remove my thumb from the stick to reset and try my swing again. This is very annoying when trying to putt.
I HAVE A QUESTION if you reset your career do you lose everything that you earned on your first career please help me out I watch ALOT of your videos I just got the game
When you say everything you earned, are you talking about the fittings and gear you go from the sponsors? If that is what you are referring to, no you keep all that.
Since I know I'm going to be playing this for a while I'm gonna sub to your channel. Thank you. I'm still a little confused with the VC and the skills so this video might be helpful.
I think the tempo crap is totally random and they're fugging you to upgrade your clubs just to have the semblance of hitting it "kind of" straight. They should make the environment tougher and allow people to swing to where they aim. Real golf is easier to hit straight it's absofugginlutely ridiculous... great video btw. The question is: what if you are a very knowledgeable but very occasional player who wants to play online? You're left with zero chance. Looking forward to EA's game in the spring. Love playing on the very hardest settings but want to play on a level playing field as an occasional player. I don't think the swing calibration carries over to online play
Have fun! I try to get to as many questions as possible. If you have any about the game, let me know here or over on Twitch and I'll try to help as much as I can.
Is anyone else having an issue with Xbox controllers. I have the game for Xbox One but it is not working correctly. As soon as the difficulty gets up to the pro level the swing stick is not working. You can make the exact same swing twice and it will say that one of them is fast and the other is slow. It is also saying that my swing plane is not in between the white lines. It shows the swing plane as either all the way to the right or all the way to the left.

That works too. Purples are fairly easy to get a hold of.
Which would I want more of if I want the forgiveness bar to be larger? Timing or swing path? I want it to play like pro on 2k21
They both give forgiveness. Timing makes the tempo window bigger for forgiveness there. Swing path makes the up and down line for your swing bigger which also makes forgiveness better.

Since I know I'm going to be playing this for a while I'm gonna sub to your channel. Thank you. I'm still a little confused with the VC and the skills so this video might be helpful.
I am really enjoying this game so far. I really wish they would add cross-platform though…
It is actually coming!
Thanks!
Holyyyyy. First person to do that. Thank you very much!
Just starting this game now on PS5. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! Very useful video… thanks so much!
