Nobody ever mentions that you can connect this mini3 to your house network and control it with the dab live app. I like the feature where you can set it to full power for a period of time, say 10 minutes when taking a shower, by simply using your phone. It also has a sleep mode for the nightly hours, to reduce power consumption. I just bought this box, and I had to upgrade the firmware first, which is a bit of a PITA, but I'm overall pretty happy with it.
@@FilterShopZa I've been playing with that functionality a bit over the last few weeks. It's promising, but unfortunately still has some development left... the most annoying issue is that the 'power shower' functionality defaults to 5 minutes, no matter what you do ;-)
thanks for the informative content, always helpful, question...is this common with the DAB Esybox mini, that it over pressures the line? My Esybox mini seems to do the same thing, where the pressure is set to 2.7 bar on the pump but often the external pressure gauge shows 3 bar..
I think the reason might be that it has a very small buffer tank and it is a multistage pump with quite a bit of inertia. Then ot stops the pump doesn't stop immediately and the pressure tank isn't big enough to store the extra water without noticeable increase in pressure. This is my thinking on it, it could also just be that the calibration is a bit off.
@@FilterShopZa so i have 2x 60L pressure vessels connected after the DAB, so it can be that, im tending to think it might be the pressure switch is not calibrated correctly..
@@yugeshb5309 Yes, sounds like it. What I would recommend is setting the pressure drop bigger on the dab, the default is 0.3Bar drop before it turns on. You can set it to 1 Bar and then while your tanks are empty set the air pressure to about 0.1Bar under the turn on point for the pump. That will save you some extra power.
@@FilterShopZa pressure drop was set to 1 bar already, but what seemed to help was changing the "turn off delay" from 30 seconds to 15 seconds, now it only over pressures slightly...thanks again for the awesome content, keep at it..
Where are you based as in South Africa Dab has quite good support and a good repair center. I would contact them and hopefully they can sort it for you.
Yup. They seem AMAZING at first. But after a month or so everything breaks and fails. And it’s super expensive to fix. Like pressure sensors, they are 2$ usually. 150$ to get one for a DAB. And you have to wait for shipping from another country. To whoever is reading this. Definitely don’t buy one of these.
Thanks a lot for the incredible review with details of the manometer. When opening the faucet with a 3 bar target it goes down to 1 bar until it picks up again after a couple of secods, Is there any way to avoid this? I have a water softener that needs a minimum pressure of 2.5 bar to operate and I wouldn't like to have this drop everytime I open a faucet.
Hi, Is it on a Mini3 that your having the problem? It sounds like the pressure loss is to quick for it to respond. The only practical option is to add a pressurized buffer tank to give it more time. I would think ideally a 60L tank, but something as small as a 24L could work.
the dab mini comes set at 3bar pressure ... how can i increase the bar pressure ? as i understand it you have to unscrew the panel to the left and do another procedure, it's not just changing the bar pressure with the up and down arrows
Very similar, they are from the same group of companies, we used to have the scala 2 but we prefer the dab. Overall they are very nice pumps but there are better value for money options.
@@FilterShopZa thank you for answering. I might prefer buying the e.sybox rather than the mini 3. If i am focusing on 60 psi output pressure as that is what I am looking for. Is there any other better pump than the 220V e.sybox? At those 60 psi or 4 bar it seems to be still quiet.
Hi @@AMSMunichz , The Esybox is a good option and definitely the quietest option, the only other alternative I can recommend is the HMS1500. Here is its review: ua-cam.com/video/M9vkMIpSta0/v-deo.html
So how did you end up resetting it? I’m having the same problem. Even with holding the correct buttons on startup and seeing “reset” it still won’t clear the errors. This is the worst pump ever made. 3 months of fighting it and I’ve had working water for 2 days of these 3 months. Not only that, there’s a gigantic sh*t waiting to be flushed in my toilet for about a week now. It’s always something with these DABS. I have the highest end prefilters and everything. These things just bitch about everything
I’m wanted to do a quick note and add that, yes, these pumps are amazing. I live off grid and I’ve never seen a more power efficient pump or a quieter one. But living off grid, you need stuff to WORK. Reading all the comments on these DAB videos and on the forums made me realize how everyone has the same problems and dab doesn’t care. I understand having to pay for replacement parts, but I’m not paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars, and tearing literally every panel off the pump, disconnecting all the lines, draining it, and everything, just to replace a part on their broken “prototype”. This isn’t a consumer grade product. It’s a fancy prototype that you have to work on all the time
Wow, not nice to hear that you have been struggling that much with your pump. Are you based in south africa as then we can see if we can put you in touch with one of their better technicians as you should not be struggling like that with the pump.

Yes if you add the D-connect box it has some really cool options.
