Based on what source is used to extract the data on sexual assault, one out of three, to one out of six women are sexually assaulted before the age of 20. This is an alarming number! So if his hypothesis is true, why are we not seeing far more women presenting with such a high voice register?
I've been in behavioral health for nearly two decades. In NYS, I'm an LMSW and CASAC-L and from my vantage point this hypothesis is more likely to not be true for the aforementioned reasons. Sure, someone could make the argument that not all child sexual assault victims develop this stifled voice development phenomenon, but that seems like a reach. It's just my opinion, but most of these TV doctors are full of shit half of the time and I don't think it's due to incompetence, but being more involved in producing entertaining content than keeping pace with contemporary research.
Its the most common accent here.. I sound exactly like her. The slight slur is not lsd you ignorant fuck. Its a tongue tie. Even with speech therapy fixing our R's and L's you can never get rid of the slurring.. she went to speech therapy just as alot of us do so she no longer sounds like a "uwu" or elmer fudd huntting sillwee wabbits. The amount of concentration and effort to fully pronunciate and not slurr even after therapy will make your tongue tired if you have a tongue tie. Better to be unique then sound like a leave it to beaver bitch imo though.

Sorry to compare them but I feel like sometimes Khalyla purposely embarrasses Bobby to gain "cool" points with the guests and she plays it off as being unaware of what she's doing or she's "just being honest." Whereas Sarah looks pained if she says something that incidentally turns out to paint Bobby in a negative light. Sarah is truly sunshine and so purehearted

I definitely noticed that. Khalyla seems to not care how he looks or how he feels about anything she says. Sarah didn't want his feelings hurt by anything she or khalyla said.

Bobby is a true Dismissive Avoidant. That's not a diss, that's just a description of his attachment style. At a young age he learned that having emotions and attachments wasn't safe and that's the way his subconscious protected him. Watching them now, a couple years since this episode, Khalyla as vilified as she is, was the steady security he needed. He just can't cross that bridge to be the lover-partner that they both need. I'm glad they're best friends and in their own separate ways, I hope they find happiness and healing.
It's interesting how she on this one mentioned that "being a roommate is what she's most afraid of" then now she is totally okay with it, and imo watching them for a long time, I think that she was the one who wanted this to be over.. I've been there so I can clearly read it in a dude's eyes when he's got dumped
