Jergal wasn't so much defeated as was incredibly bored with no one to challenge him his might and politely stepped aside they came for his throne, and then HELPED THEM not destroy each other when it was time to divide up his power and figured these three might do something more interesting with his power than he had!
But first wotc has to start allowing novels other than drizzt novels to get made again. Hopefully the new dragonlance novels starts some kind of movement.
I've always wanted to know more, after reading the Moonshae trilogy, playing Baldurs Gate and reading about Bane, in order ro make a campaign based around the Zhentarim.
Based off of the events of The Second Sundering (and Baldur's Gate: Descent) Spoiler Warning, They are back as full gods and can even use their power to directly enhance their worshippers (there is a chapter dedicated to this in BG:DiA). The Module Murder At Baldur's Gate (which was AL playtest) goes through the process and explains how Bhaal is reborn, Bane never left his divinity as nations like Thay/Mulmaster have constantly worshipped him and lastly Myrkle is ressurected thanks to the rebuilding of the Pantheon, the Crown of Thorns may still have his essence in it, but he is completely here, for Myrkle I would guess that he is serving under Kelemovor who before the sundering inherited the portfolio.
i feel like you are unironically the best youtuber, you put so much time into your video's and love your community so much. not to mention you are a nice person!
Oh, nostalgia. Tyranthraxus was the BBEG in SSI's Pool of Radiance computer game series (starting in 1988). It was the 1st adaptation of D&D (specifically AD&D) into a computer game. I loved playing those games.
"Stallac Benadi, the High Imperceptor of Bane, (although he had extended his life through potions of longevity) was fearing death. He petitions Bane for aid and was transformed into a Banelich. So powerful was Stallac's new form that he could cast his divine spells without need of divine assisstance (in essence, he becomes a minor demipower). Thus, in his lair beneath Zhentil Keep, he quietly amassed power for the next three centuries. Over the next 3 centuries, numerous powerful wizards also achieved lichdom and sought lairs beneath Zhentil Keep. Several of them confronted Stallac and attempted to drive him from their city but they were destroyed by his might. In the end, the lich-mages were forced to content themselves with building domains around the underground empire of Stallac and his forces of Bane, for they had come to fear the wrath of the Banelich." I wanna know what this dude is up to these days, or if his underground empire was destroyed when Zhentil Keep was attacked
I love these lore videos, especially those regarding the more obscure lore of the Forgotten Realms. Currently running a campaign inspired by the old 90s Pool of Radiance game, but with some changes. Rather than simple conquest, Tyranthraxus is instead working to regain his freedom and godhood through dark rituals while in his bronze dragon form. Phlan is fallen, and my players started in a besieged Thentia, the city-states already on the back foot from the get-go. I grew up playing the Gold Box games, and I hope to, slowly but surely, adapt some elements of them into 5e adventures.
I like the conspiracy theories coming out of BG3 at the moment about Jergal’s return, and the lore that Ed Greenwood contributed on DMs guild about Jergal and the Spellweavers
As mentioned by others, Tyranthraxus features in the 'Pool of Radiance' CRPG and companion novelisation (where he possesses the body a Bronze Dragon); He also features in the 'Curse of the Azure Bonds' CRPG (where he possesses the body of a *Storm Giant*), and in the AD&D adventure/campaign module "Ruins of Adventure", which was a TTRPG tie-in to the "Pool of Radiance" CRPG.
I appreciate all the videos you put out. It really helps me better understand the forgotten realms. I was wondering if you could put out a series focusing on all of the famous/historic figures from the forgotten realms and how they impacted the forgotten realms. Elminster, Szass Tam, Halaster Blackcloak, etc.
I've stayed away from Elminster and Drizzt because they're such beloved characters. However it is getting to the point I need to make one. Szass I've mentioned here: ua-cam.com/video/zha4miIbPFg/v-deo.html but he probably needs his own video. Halaster I've spoken about here: ua-cam.com/video/H6xVUtRBeMQ/v-deo.html
Netherese: "Let's open a portal to the Outlands, we will conquer the multiverese!" Anyone who knows jacksh*t about Planescape: "I don't think it's a good idea."
I am a little confused about the Dead 3 in 5e. Did Cyric's imprisonment in the Supreme Throne on Pandemonium allow Myrkul and Bhaal to re-emerge? I know the Bhaalspawn and the Crown of Horns were the actual mechanisms of resurrection, but was Cyric losing control of his domains what allowed them (and Liera) to return? Also, is Cyric going to be considered among the "elder evils" or "lost gods" going forward?
Not sure. Cyric lost his portfolios I believe. This might have allowed the Dead Three to return, but I don't think their return would mean they get their old spots. Kelemvor is now the god of the dead anyway.
If Bhaal thrust the Sword Coast in such chaos with one plan (detailed in the first two Baldur's gate games) imagine what the dead three could accomplish if they combined their powers now. Not even if every 20th+ level overpowered mary sue NPC combined their powers could they stop them. Alas, they are idiots and bicker amongst each other
A week ago I said I was just starting this playlist, and now here I am at the end. Good stuff but the videos are too short. You'd mention something that sounded cool but then didn't expand on any of it.
So just to understand it better. Is Baal the Guy/thing that conects DND with Baaldurs Gate? If yes how? I am new in the scene and barely understand anything but i like Gnolls, watched to many Videos and just now found your chanel :D
Baaldurs gate is dnd and was written based on ganes and novels and modules for dnd. It is in 2nd and 3rd edition rules of dnd. Baal and dnd came first. And ed greenwood the father of forgotten realms was in an advisory role on the game. Does that clear it up?

Is the dagger Borem is buried with the dagger that can kill Gods? The name rings a bell. I'm currently running a campaign that will probably focus on the dead three in later tiers so thanks for making this!! XD
The dagger was a Netherese artifact that was made in secret as a trump card against the gods, which the Netherese did not trust. It is the same dagger.

Bingo! Faiths & Avatars was where that little tidbit came from, if I remember correctly. One of the sidebars, something about "Skull-bowling"...
Am I the only one that wants a Dead 3 novel series about their adventures and apotheosis??? It sounds like it would be incredible

Elder Evils, again, sounds like:
"Ancient Spirits of Evil..."
from Mumm Ra on Thundercats.
I'm definitely weaving him into my campaign.
In DiA, you spend the first chapter fighting a bunch of cultists of the Dead Three, so I guess they're back? Maybe?
They are. Bane is still a strong religion. Myrkul became a vassal of Kelemvor and Bhaal is Bhaal, since a decade
I am a little confused about the Dead 3 in 5e. Did Cyric's imprisonment in the Supreme Throne on Pandemonium allow Myrkul and Bhaal to re-emerge?
