Thx for sharing your thoughts on the gun. Having purchased my 694 in December, I practiced mounting it in front of the mirror during lockdown and finally, since May, I can shoot it. It is my first over and under and after shooting trap for 20+ years with a single barrel single shot shotgun I am really happy to train with this gun. I added a "full" choke and am now practicing to mount the gun correctly shooting trap. The F choke is unforgiving, one immediately misses the clay target when mounting badly, since the pattern is so tight (50cm diam. at around 15-20m).
Do you prefer this, the 694 or the DT11? How would you compare the 694 vs DT11? to me it seems that the only two main differences between them is that the DT11 has a detachable trigger and it has 12cm longer forcing cones (Steelium Pro instead of Steelium Plus barrels), everything else according to the spec sheet seems to be the same, even the main action on the 694 it is 3mm wider the same like the DT11. The 694 was also developed for competition by Team Beretta. The beautify of it is that it is way cheaper than the DT11 :) so 90% same features, has some features that the DT11 still does not have, and better price - I think it's perfect!
Demo Guns ALWAYS get a wood upgrade, in this case it appears to be a EELL wood upgrade. That wood set is a very near match to my Silver Pigeon III 410/28 combo that came with a EELL wood upgrade. Note, the combo is a Joel Etchen special and if I ever decide to bite on a 694 I'll be getting one from Joel Etchen because he stocks this model with an EELL upgrade. Tastes in wood is different for everybody and it's nice to look at a full rack of guns and pick out the sample that appeals to your individual tastes. In regards to the barrel selector getting bumped and locking the trigger, that is a recurring issue with my SP III. This happened to me at the State Championship on the opening of the 410 round, go for the high house on station 1 and the trigger wouldn't budge. Fortunately a Squad Mate told me to look at the selector and that was the problem. May have to look into a stronger detent spring for this feature.
I have just bought a 694 anniversary model is your opening lever on a angle on the round bit. Mine is not flush it is on one side but is raised by 1mm on the other.
I’d come back to this after you’ve put some serious rounds through it. I think you’re style will change again once your used to the way it shoots. Betting you’ll return to a gun down technique. Great review and gun from one of the best manufacturers. Cheers mate
Lol just came across this video doing some research on 694... Strangely enough I have a 691 aswell and looking at 694... Find I'm a bit fast with my 30" barrels looking to change to something but heavier more clay comp orientated
Got one from Hodnet b4 last lock down.(2nd Hand)..Bloody brill gun ...got adjustable stock ( Simon @ Doova`s) 32" ...Cheers to Tony n Neil..C U Soon...
Hi, great review. I shoot a 690 black on clays, and an old 686s for the odd game day and for pigeons and crows in the hide. I'm seriously considering chopping them both in and trading up to a 694. Would you say it's versatile enough to shoot game and in the field? Cheers. 👍
The gun looks decent enough but the one thing that would stop me buying a Beretta is the question mark around long term reliability. I really don’t believe the build quality is what it should be and seen many complaints around reliability from owners.
the build quality is excellent, you will see more complaints because they make up 90% of shotgun sales. no one shouts about how reliable their gun is, only the small percentage who have issues.
@@BeatRock253 - yes. 35/55 is the lower comb. Easy to get confused but the '55' measurement is the drop at heel so the bigger the number the more drop. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you for the review a little tip from an old man I bought my 1st weapon 1972 I still own it and every other gun I have purchased you never sell a gun if you can't afford to keep the one you have and buy a new 1 you work harder
@@IRateGuns Yes I'm an American I live in the United States of America I have over 30 weapons and pistols some of them were my father and grandfather's dating back is 1930 And my grandfather's single action army dating back to 1890
I think you've just been very unlucky, I've never had a major fault on any of my Berettas, but even if there was an issue the action is relatively easy to strip down and replace a broken part.

Use a modified choke
Just bought a 694 after seeing your video what an awesome gun.
Awesome, hope you enjoy it!!
Your wood is beautiful, much nicer than mine!! I have had mine a year next month, have put a few flats of shells through it

THE LOCK UP ON THE DT-11 IS DIFFERENT FROM THE 694.
For the money, the 694
The forend cracked on mine after only 2 months of use! This appears to be a common issue. no response from Beretta!!
Did you get this sorted?
YOU NEED TO TIGHTEN THE FOREND SCREWS, CHECK THEM AFTER SHOOTING A FEW HUNDREDS OF ROUNDS, I WAS TOLD THAT'S THE ISSUE AND CAUSE FOR CRACKING.
@@Plainsimple67 the screws on mine came loose a few weeks ago, I put a drop of low strength lock tight on them, see how long it lasts
Awesome review! I picked up the 694 about 8 months ago and I love it. Great all around gun but shines in sporting
Thanks, I'm just starting to get used to it now, suppressing how different it shoots compared to the 691.

wow the quality is really good on this
helps when I learn how to use the camera
any recommendations on improving the closing action on the 694? Mine is super tight. Using a bit of grease to open it up. Great video. Cheers
I also noticed the same on the mounting. Not a quick mount.
Just give it time

Sounds right
A daft question, but why do you typically shoot with different chokes in a gun?
to constrict the shot and increase range
How would this compare to the 695? Those 695s are such a pretty gun? Are they the same as the 695 but engraved>
Different stock dimensions is the main difference
wow. that wood is orders of magnitude more beautiful than mine. i had two to choose from
I’ve not seen another as good , apparently this was one they used at the gun shows
did it come with extended chokes as standards
It did
@@IRateGuns I also imported 694 recently but I did not got these extended ones...I got the standard ones...barrel length...
I shoot here an Oakedge with my son. Getting back into the sport keep up the good videos I’ll give the dtl elite cartridges a go.

Beautiful wood stock. Definitely better than my 694, from the video. Enjoy!
The best I’ve seen, apparently it was used on the stands at gun shows
I've really been waiting to see if they come out with a black version as beretta has with all their other guns
I think its likely, could be a long wait though
Browning XS Pro for me the best gun out there .I think
I would say there isn’t much between the two

I’ve noticed the wood is much nicer on the guns shipped to to Europe than the States. 🤔
Not always, this one was used for marketing I believe
Where is the gun made?
Italy
hey man, what's the difference between this shotgun and the 695?
The shape/engraving on the action, stock dimensions and the new forend design
Cracking shooting!

I got the non adjustable in the 35/50 does that mean the comb is lower?

Your going to be sorry I have 2 DT11 and a 692 I've had nothing but troubles with them Beretta just sends you parts they don't fix the problems

If they are so unreliable (you have three) why do you keep buying them.

you need to practice more if you cant just bring the gun up and shoot, ive had my 694 sporter for 3 months now and cant shoot it gun down no problem

The selecter is a complete joke ... warm day no gloves open barrel and knocks over into top first !
still better than my 690, that would move over just by looking at it.
I love my 694 With about 4000 rounds in I have never switched the barrel selector unintentionally. It requires a deliberate action to move mine.
