So, let me get this straight… The driver shot the pet/ I have made deliveries 📦 to a home 🏠 with a dog 🐶 which was not leashed and it bit me in the buttocks… Uber did nothing, I have since stopped doing deliveries and I have bear 🐻 mace and human mace… I’m trying to stay alive out here, I stay armed and my head is always on a swivel. I don’t pickup at apartments or pickup people with initials or 3rd parties/ or at high schools and elementary schools. Why Uber allows children to hail rides is ridiculous and I’m staying away from mess
New Illinois law. Zero tolerance policy you cannot log into the Uber app if you are taking drugs or consuming alcohol even while not driving (625 ILCS 57/25) (Section scheduled to be repealed on September 1, 2023) Sec. 25. Safety. (a) The TNC shall implement a zero tolerance policy on the use of drugs or alcohol while a TNC driver is providing TNC services or is logged into the TNC's digital network but is not providing TNC services.
My dad was a mail man and got bit by a dog, He grabbed the dog and bit the dog back lol, It took off yelping, needless to say he had some explaining to do back at the post office lol
I know a lot of people think delivery jobs are more dangerous than rideshare but for me, I think I would feel a little more comfortable dealing with a situation out in the open at somebody’s house than having to face trouble in the confines of my car! Is that just me?
I was in a similar situation. I arrived to a customer's house with her Doordash order and there were half a dozen dogs barking and growling at me in the front yard before I even got out of my car. I then stayed in my car and called her and told her (I told her , I didn't ask her but told her) that I am not getting out of my car with those dogs outside. She then tried to argue with me and state they are on an invisible fence and I need to drop her order off at her front door. I stayed firm and told her someone needs to come to my car to pick up her order or I will leave it at the curb where she puts out her garbage. Her son then came to my car to pick up the order. At the time, I didn't care if this customer would report me for being rude and give me a 1 star rating. No delivery is worth a driver's safety being compromised.
I agree with you about people not knowing the dogs intent and being spooked, however you can generally tell if a dog is attacking, the dog should have been contained but once in awhile a dog gets past an owner when excited to meet someone new, I personally would never shoot a dog unless I knew 100% I was in serious danger,

Dogs are one of the reasons I prefer not to go to peoples door. So I prefer to do just people rides.
I helped a woman that was disabled in 50 plus community bring items in the house. She had her little pooch roaming jumping on me and eventually I accidentally stepped on the dog and almost face planted. Unexceptionable
On time I delivered a box, I just got out of the car and two dogs came barking I did not enter the house yet the gate was open. and they got out, the large dog was trying to get me the smaller one was just barking. I was protecting myself from the dog with the large box and after a while, he left. I called the police because I was on a public street. they gave the owner a fine and he was angry at me.. I do not deliver any more nasty people.
That dog should not be roaming around freely when a delivery is expected. The smaller dogs are more apt to bite than the large ones. All dogs can bite. Corral y our dogs, folks. I have a sign on my gate. My dogs are placed behind closed doors when a service person has to enter my yard.
" if the dog were that aggresive there would be prior attacks on record" There is absolutely no sound logic in your assertion. Just because a dog became aggressive with one person does not automatically mean there would be some searchable record of prior incidents. Seriously, who writes these comments?
@@adamwagner827 obviously you have 0 knowledge of firearms and the laws of carrying one, furthermore dumb dumb could have got bit and then shot the dog and had one hell of a payday
Why not cancel the order or have home owner meet you at the car to get their food rather then shoot the dog if you didn’t feel safe? Why not have owner come get their dog?
Your comment about one less dog barking is very insensitive. The driver should be banned from the app to protect other animals from this insensitive and hurtless driver.
@7InkredibleTruth7 The dude was no victim. I have been in similar situations as a driver. Violence or killing was never an option. You can slowly back away from a dog walking backwards to your vehicle.
They say the person that delivered is not the person on the profile
does not suprise me, illegals are renting accounts now

I’ve never had this happen as food delivery driver. Owner usually get their dogs if they come to the door.

I can't find your 1pm today

Puppy (pest) was warmed up 1st ☄️, then cooled off "indefinitely "💀
Laws of using a firearm state only if you are in a life threatening situation, if the dog were that aggresive there would be prior attacks on record

It's widely culturally acceptable to defend yourself. Stop blaming the victim.

He could have kicked the dog.
He could keep a few treats in his pockets like I do for situations like this one. Distract the door with a few snacks.
