I meditated at work. That means I was present - in the moment, attentive to what I was doing. I was intensely focused on whatever it was that I was doing. I maintained awareness regardless of my moves. So my mind stopped; only awareness remained. I no longer had cravings or bodily needs. It feels amazing to be in this state of expansive awareness.
He's absolutely right. I intensely mediated like he said, on my couch, for about 2 weeks every night, 2-4 of those days being continual, non stop, and it came out of nowhere. I backed away, but I am going to make another run for it
@John. I'm doing minor runs at this point. The pull of ego is strong because it knows these final runs will be the last. I'm only 34, and this experience I had was when I was 31, so I'm not in a giant rush. I also feel a sense of obligation towards my cat, so I'm not ready to 100% let go just yet. I'd say I'm genuinely trying to let go about 80%, and I am seeing improvements in muscle tension, stress, etc. I just require tons of alone time as the world pulls me into ego quite intensely at times. Things definitely look more beautiful in day to day life. Everything has a shiny, diamond like beauty, and it's completely obvious that it's divine love. Especially nature. I observe my mind to reminding itself that I'm sober, rather than on a psychedelic. I highly recommend to anyone doing this to limit screen time as much as possible. No binge watching TV shows. Those things pull you into ego at the most unconscious level. Just like anything, the more you put in, the more you get out. Just be honest with yourself where you are. If you do spiritual work 30 minutes a week, you need to understand that you aren't really committed, and that's ok, just be honest with how much you're invested in ego rather than spirit

Brother, forgive me, but I feel I must share this with you, for I was once quite entrenched in this view that you may be, if I am not mistaken. It is simply this: the world brings forth what is already within our hearts and minds. There is nothing that can disturb our peace if we within ourselves truly have cultivated a peaceful mind and loving heart. That is the gift of the world! It is a gift to be shown where we cling, where we hold positionalities, where we still defend ourselves from the ever-present Love that has made the world, and is Itself the world, as Creation. Thus we can learn to let go of defending a certain 'peaceful state of mind' by isolating from the world, and instead develop a real and true peace within the world, where all we run from is made plain to us. We learn just how many judgments, positionalities, views, feelings, all manners of craving and aversion we hold within ourselves. It is striking! Yet with the declaration to face this within us, we are given the courage to surrender them as they come about. It will be tumultuous as times, certainly in the beginning, but it is the real Peace, a Peace that sees the Creation of God in the Light of which it is made. The world is the great Gift! That we learn to give all within us that is not of love to God, as it comes about within us, so that real peace may be revealed, which embraces the world completely and freely, that abides in love and truth with all things. Meditation can be of great, great use, certainly, but the true treasure of meditation reveals itself when we see what may block the flow of our meditation, of our prayer, or our lovingness, and be joyful, for, "This too, O Lord, I surrender to Thee." almost every mother is willing to lay down her life for her child, and a man for his family, thus the knowing is abundantly evident, and in one's own final moment, an attitude of gratitude for having lived is sufficient to pass peacefully, if not joyously.

As the good Doc taught, as well as others like Nisargadatta about true Enlightenment, there's no "you" left that can even make the statement "I am now Enlightened." So stay on the path he taught, don't settle for a lesser "enlightenment." You'll get there, some time later in this lifetime or the next, which is still great news! And yes, it will surely be all God's doing.
@@ron3537 I was taken over for 6 months, given gifts and abilities, a mind that corrects me, I cannot be enlightened as I am not good enough?, I was basically Jesus for 6 months, God yammering down on me, I had an energy, a greater mind, was promised miracles, given stories about creation, had to battle demons. I am able to see the errors of David. this should be in books and movies. David wrote in his book, anyone could become enlightened by begging God while in the black void

I was only trying to help, because all of the truly Enlightened have all said there's no "you" left to make the statements that you are making. I can't get anyone to help me, my life was very bad and I had to beg God to stay alive, I thought I was getting to the truth, but I am not longer just me anymore, God moved in. so there is a 'you'. David gave the finger to people and liked watching ice road truckers, I can't be as good as him.

A person with a theatrical point of view has their own natural act. Yes, a person who is fortunate enough when they are young to have the mystical experience of a panic attack, near death experience, or severe accident which centers the person in their mortality looks at life much differently than others. We naturally tune in to mortality as we age. A friend said to me when we were younger that life is a "life-like dream." Young people living in the natural sheltered life of youth are les sure of what is going on. Additionally, a person can become disabled by extremely good looks and too much money.
